The Pirates and the Frog (7/17 Welcome to the Next Adventure!)

Believe it or not, it was time to eat again.
Well, almost.
We didn’t actually fill up too much at Biergarten knowing one of our favorites was on the horizon.
And our pace had slowed afterwards as we were taking in the sights more as we toured FutureWorld and saved the United Kingdom.
So we made our way back to Canada and strolled the grounds enjoying the beautiful scenery.
And we stumbled across some interesting natives…
Disney2009Pirates1358.jpg

Finally, we checked in to our favorite must-do restaurant, Le Cellier.
Mmmmm, can’t you just taste that steak?
While they set our table up, we headed for Kidcot.
Okay, so parent-time.
Who was the bright Imagineer that decided Sharpie should sponsor this essentially handing children PERMANENT MARKERS to play with as they wait for dinner.
PERMANENT MARKERS before taking lots of pics of precious magical moments.
Needless to say, here is the result of such a wonderful decision.
At least this time it wasn’t on his face…
Disney2009Pirates1359.jpg

Then we were seated.
I forgot which province we were led to as my mouth was already watering.
If you didn’t know, this small restaurant is divided up by Canadian province.
And each section is decorated with artifacts of said province.
Yes kids, EPCOT is still educational. :goodvibes
Okay, now on to the fun.

For those Dining Plan readers out there, Le Cellier is one of the places where you can swap your drink for a non-alcoholic frozen treat.
MMMmmmmmm.
Disney2009Pirates1361.jpg

And another native….
Disney2009Pirates1362.jpg

First course – PRETZEL BREAD.
Mmmmmmmmmmmm…
Disney2009Pirates1363.jpg

After scarfing down some bread, I took some shots of the interior.
Disney2009Pirates1364.jpg

Then, my appetizer arrived.
Today I tried the Duck 3-Way.
It was really good although I think this has been removed from the menu.
Disney2009Pirates1366.jpg

Mom had the appetizer for two (yes they let her get it by herself).
That’s two pieces of duck something or other and two bowls of cheddar cheese soup to dip the pretzel bread in!
Disney2009Pirates1368.jpg

Even X got to try the duck – it was really good.
Disney2009Pirates1370.jpg

But enough about poultry – next it was time to devour filet mignons with mashed potatoes subbed in for the risotto.
I was eating so fast and in such heaven that I neglected to snap some photos.
The kids ordered butter noodles – their standard at Le Cellier.
So for your viewing pleasure, we can skip to dessert.
We started with a Canadian favorite.
Hello Bullwinkle:
Disney2009Pirates1371.jpg

This looks like it would really hurt.
But it is pretty funny.
Disney2009Pirates1372.jpg

Then it started getting odd.
Not sure what this is but I think it sort of resembles a fish.
Disney2009Pirates1373.jpg

Yeah, yeah, I know.
Don’t play with your food.
And we teach our kids that, too.
But the above creations were made by yours truly! :rotfl2:
The princess went with the s’mores:
Disney2009Pirates1374.jpg

Too bad.
She wasn’t happy at all.
Must’ve been horrible.
Disney2009Pirates1375.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1376.jpg

Our Happy Resident Canadian and her Darling Daughter…
Disney2009Pirates1377.jpg

And the moose they rode in on…
Disney2009Pirates1379.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1382.jpg

After dinner, we headed back out into the Canadian Night Sky.
On our way back to Future World, I had one stop to make though.
It was the Food & Wine Festival and I heard tell of some great ice wine here in the Great Wine North.
Disney2009Pirates1388.jpg

It was expensive for a tiny glass but ooooh so good.
Well worth it and great nightcap for the evening.
Mmmmmm.
Now I’m hungry.
Who’s up for steak?
But be sure to get here next time for a trip through time!

Nice update :) It looks like you all had a lot of fun playing with your food at LC. I love the pic of X with the antlers

It's been about 8 years since we've visited LC and I'm thinking we really need to go back.

We LOVE Le Cellier - definitely tops on the list for Mom and I.
Even the Princess is extremely fond of it now that she has tried the kids steak.
So I guess since we're having so much fun, we get a little giddy and play with our food.
What can you do? :confused3
Disney brings out the kids in us! :goodvibes

I've been enjoying reading along. Although the food shots are making me hungry! :)

I just noticed your ticker - one day until Father/Son Star Wars weekend! Wow - have a wonderful trip!!!

Glad you're enjoying the TR.
As for the trip, we're really excited.
It'll be a short trip but DS and I are headed for a fun weekend - we've never been to Star Wars Weekends before!
Mom and Princess went for Mother's Day (and even met Dawn and Caitlin).
X and I will get a weekend in January.

Anyway, I'll try to get one more post up before I head out and then should finish shortly after we get back.

Great pix at Le Cellier !!The Soup is outta this world as is the Filet!!!

We entirely agree!
In fact, I'm looking forward to my ADR on Monday.
Can't have a weekend getaway without a stop at Le Cellier!
But before I get out of here, how about finishing off our adventures for the day...

Our last stop in Epcot has now become a tradition.
We head to Spaceship Earth and visit the Photography store there to secure our free 5x7 courtesy of our Disney VISA card.
Next, we hop aboard that Grand & Miraculous Spaceship.
The entire family loves this ride and it’s a perfect ending to a perfect day at Epcot.
And, there are NEVER any lines in the evening.
Here’s the family apparently living on a houseboat somewhere in the Atlantic.
Disney2009Pirates1390.jpg

X and DS then proceeded to launch themselves into space.
Disney2009Pirates1391.jpg

And then begged to go on again.
So off we went through time once more.
This time we ended up under the sea.
Disney2009Pirates1392.jpg

We then headed to the restrooms in shifts.
X apparently chose now as the perfect time to go dancing.
Disney2009Pirates1393a.jpg

But finally we were all packed up and ready to go.
To the Photopass photographers, of course!
Have to get those great nightshots of Epcot before you head out!
Disney2009PiratesPass1016.jpg

Disney2009PiratesPass1023.jpg

Finally, we hopped the bus back to our Pirate Ship in the Caribbean.
The kids were exhausted so they grabbed their books and climbed into bed.
Mom and I started packing up as tomorrow was our last day.
When I went to check on the kids, they had passed out already – books still open and everything…
Disney2009Pirates1413.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1414.jpg

What a great day.
So, Ferb – I know what we’re going to do tomorrow!
It’s time for the Backyard Beach!
(Once I get back from Star Wars Weekends that is!)

What a great day you all had! The pictures of the kids sleeping are so precious! :goodvibes

You're going to Disney World TODAY! :cool1::cool1:
Have a safe trip and enjoy your special father and son weekend! I can't wait to hear all about it! :goodvibes

We had a blast!
Now that I'm back, I'll finish this TR up quick and then we can start on our January trip.
You'll have to wait a bit to hear about SWW though... :goodvibes

We woke early on Day Six as we needed to check out.
We ordered a 7:20 Bell Service pickup and headed down to Airline Check-In.
But before we leave our fair ship, let’s have one last look at the old girl, shall we?
Disney2009Pirates1419.jpg

I think I neglected to show off the curtains in the bathroom displaying all of the find vessels on the High Seas.
Take a look!
Disney2009Pirates1415.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1416.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1417.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1418.jpg

Ahoy matey!
We shall meet again someday.
But for now, we were off to the Backyard Beach!
We finished our Airline Check-In, stored our carry-ons and grabbed a bus to Hollywood Studios.
Mom sweet-talked the driver into dropping us off at the Beach Club afterwards.
Disney2009Pirates1424.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1420.jpg

And what, pray tell, was the first thing we saw?
Why, a vehicle of course!
And where there’s a vehicle, there’s 3 Capell children clamoring to get on!
Disney2009Pirates1421.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1422.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1423.jpg

When we finally dragged them out of the car, we headed to Cape May for breakfast.
Disney2009Pirates1425.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1426.jpg

We had a 9:05 ADR but they let said they might be able to get us in earlier (who knew our timing would be so good?)
Conveniently enough, they have a little “Kids Lobby” where the little ones could watch TV while we waited.

Disney2009Pirates1427.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1428.jpg

The adults decided to go on a photo shoot of our own.
This was, of course, our first foray to the Beach Club so exploring was in order.
And we were in our beach clothes after all!
Disney2009Pirates1429.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1430.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1431.jpg

At about 8:05 or so they said we could be seated – an hour before our ADR.
We settled in quickly and stormed the buffet – we were pretty hungry.
Disney2009Pirates1432-1.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1432-2.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1433.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1434.jpg

All Hands On Deck!
The characters began arriving in their finest beach attire!
Minnie was up first
Disney2009Pirates1440.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1437.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1438.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1439.jpg

Then around the corner waddled Donald.
Disney2009Pirates1441a.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1443.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1444.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1447.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1448.jpg

And finally the Goof himself stumbled into the room.
Disney2009Pirates1449.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1450.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1452.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1453.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1454.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1455.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1456.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1457.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1458.jpg

After the characters made their appearances, it was time to explore more of the details of Cape May.
Come along!
Disney2009Pirates1459.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1460.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1461.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1462.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1463.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1464.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1465.jpg

When we got back to the table, X was chilling in New England style.
Disney2009Pirates1466-1.jpg

And then Minnie re-appeared.
The nice thing about going here is that it’s not crowded and the characters stay for a long while and visit often.
Disney2009Pirates1467.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1468.jpg

After Minnie strolled out, Donald waddled back in.
As you know, that’s X’s favorite!!
Disney2009Pirates1470.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1471.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1473.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1474.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1475.jpg

Finally, brunch was over so we decided to check out the rest of the Beach Club before heading back for out flight.
It's a tradition that we check out at least one new resort every trip back to Disney.

Our first stop on this New England Tour – the Marketplace.
The Marketplace was loaded with gifts – including some interesting hats…
Disney2009Pirates1479.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1480.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1481.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1483.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1484.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1486.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1487.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1488.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1489.jpg

At the other side of the Marketplace, we cashed in the rest of our snacks.
On the Deluxe Dining Plan, you get WAAAAAY too many snacks.
So we stock up on our last day and bring them to give to people as well as extend the magic for ourselves!
We had 20 credits left and grabbed every type of Disney PEZ, a bunch of Mickey rice krispie treats, some apples, milk, Mickey chocolate coins, chocolate lollipops, and some other goodies.
We also had a meal credit left for each of us.
So we ordered a turkey and cheese sandwich, a roast beef and cheese sandwich, and yogurt parfaits for the kids.
Those came with drinks and side orders and desserts and we packaged it all up to eat in the airport.

Next stop – the Solarium.
Disney2009Pirates1490-1.jpg

This is a great place to come and just hang out for a while.
Quiet, calming, and very scenic.
Perfect relaxation spot for reading a book or taking a nap.
Disney2009Pirates1490-2.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1490-7.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1490-3.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1490-4.jpg

The Princess begged to take a picture.
So we gave it a shot.
After some direction, this is the best she could do:
Disney2009Pirates1490-6.jpg

Then we headed outside to explore the grounds.
It’s really beautiful over here.
Disney2009Pirates1492-1.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1492-2.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1493.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1494.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1495.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1496.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1497-1.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1497-2.jpg

Then it was over to the infamous Stormalong Bay.
The Shipwreck Slide looks awesome.
Disney2009Pirates1498.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1499.jpg

As we walked by the pool, the Princess, being the oblivious 5-year old she was, walked right into the pool.
Literally.
Without stopping.
I grabbed her arm and caught her just before she sank.
But her feet had already stepped right onto the water-filled ledge and were stepping into the pool as I dragged her out.
No, I can’t explain it.
And she was just clueless.

Sooooooo,
We grabbed a towel and did the best we could to dry her shoes (the only pair we brought) and socks (the only ones we had as the rest of our luggage was on its way to the airport).
What a way to end the trip, eh?
We headed to the Lighthouse to grab a boat back to Hollywood Studios and hopefully dry off the Princess.
Disney2009Pirates1500-1.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1500-2.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1500-3.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1500-4.jpg

The boys really enjoyed the boatride.
It was their first time on the Friendship Boats outside of Epcot.
Disney2009Pirates1502.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1503.jpg

When we got back to Hollywood Studios, it was apparently Christmas.
Ummmmm, okay…
Author’s Note: Remember it was about November 8th or so
Disney2009Pirates1504.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1505.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1506.jpg

We grabbed a bus back to the Caribbean, grabbed our gear and packed our food away as the Magical Express rolled up.
Disney2009Pirates1508.jpg

Shortly, the kids began to konk out – it had been a long week.
Disney2009Pirates1509.jpg

At the airport, they awoke with even more energy.
They were ecstatic when they found Nemo swimming around.
Disney2009Pirates1510.jpg

And then we found the Earport.
What a great store to kill some time while waiting for your flight.
Disney2009Pirates1516.jpg

And then the Princess found some friends.
Disney2009Pirates1511.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1515.jpg

I love this picture.
It changes princesses depending on which angle you look at it…
Disney2009Pirates1512.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1513.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1514.jpg

Inside there’s magic just waiting for you to discover!
Disney2009Pirates1517.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1518.jpg

As well as Candy…
Disney2009Pirates1519a.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1520.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1521.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1522.jpg

Disney2009Pirates1523.jpg

Now it’s time to say Good-bye…
To all our company

M-I-C, See you real soon
K-E-Y, Why? Because we like you
M-O-U-S-E

And that's it!
Now let's time travel back to the present.
I hope to start my TR from this past January ASAP!
And this one is only 5 months behind!
I'll post a link here as soon as I get it started.
Come join the fun as we celebrate X’s 4th Birthday at Walt Disney World!!!

What a wonderful ending to a great TR :thumbsup2

Isn't Cape May fun?! That is one of my favorite character meals! I love the pictures around the Beach Club. That is such a beautiful resort and I long to stay there again!

Looking forward to the next tr popcorn::

That was a spectacular ending and you could not have picked a better picture to post as your final picture. You had the camera ready to document that last day and WOW! I loved everyone's attire. So festive and perfect for CMC, which is probably my favorite character breakfast. And it doesn't hurt that it's in the BC, which is now one of my favorite resorts.

I think it is so funny that your daughter almost walked into the pool. OMG! Can you imagine if she got any further. Someone would have gotten a brand new outfit. I LOVE her dress. It's perfect.

I have to say - X does not look too thrilled to be trying hats on.

Looking forward to your next TR!!!!!

Yeah, X was tired of exploring.
While Mom and I had alot of fun (and even Princess) checking out the Beach Club, the boys were getting bored.
There wasn't alot of activity for them on that last real quick day.
But it was a great trip all in all and we had a blast (if you couldn't tell). :goodvibes

As for the pool incident, it was just DD being oblivious I guess.
I mean, most people see the REALLY BIG POOL right in front of them... :confused3
