The Pirates pirate: and the Frog :bounce:
Good Morning DISBoards!!
The Capells are off again!
For those new to our Disney Adventures, meet the family:
DisneyVisaPic.jpg

There's me - The Captain of this fine crew.
I'm an anal planner armed with multi-colored Excel spreadsheets detailing our plans to the minute.
Yes, I overplan but I have tons of fun doing so.
My theory is that because I plan so much, if changes are necessary, I can accomodate since I know when and where we will be later.
Also, it allows me to build time in for special surprises, treats, and lots of fun!

Standing on the other side of the Big Cheese, is my wife.
Our Lovely Wench is critical in our planning as she helps coordinate all our outfits to match what we are doing that day.
She loves Disney almost as much as I do and looks forward to all the fine dining Disney has to offer!

The front row starts with our eldest swashbuckler, DS8 (he was 7 during this trip).
He is like his Dad and is learning the ways of the mighty spreadsheet.
He is an avid Legomaniac, hates the princesses, and is the family's picky eater.
He currently wants to grow up to be an Imagineer and is already planning on attending the Disney College Program.

Next up is the Pirate Princess DD5.
She loves all things Princess and Fairy but Ariel has always been her favorite.
Arts and crafts is her forte, she loves to try new foods, and she is the family drama queen.

Last, we have the little X-Man (DS3 but then he was 2 1/2).
He is a little bulldozer trying to keep up with his elder siblings.
Thankfully, he'll nap in the stroller even in the middle of Disneyworld!

Many of you have been along with us for these trip reports before.
But for those who are new, I love Disney and will totally get into character so be prepared to enjoy the ride.
This time we descend on Orlando for a Not-So-Scary Halloween Haunt!
There will be pirates, princesses, and even special guests along the way with lots of new fun and tons of details!
Join us for a look back at Halloween 2009 in Walt Disney World!
So board your vessels matey and be wary - there be pirates pirate: coming!!!

Thank you lass.
Now climb aboard and raise the flag!
It's time to shove off!
I hope to continue our tale tonite!

Before getting into the details of our voyage, let’s discuss the necessary preparations.
To make sure all the crew was on board at the proper time and coordinates, it was necessary to create a countdown of sorts.
We did this using colorful heads of a certain mouse who pops up from time to time.
I guess we need better traps on our ship.
Anyway, I labeled them there heads with numbers and placed them in a mighty maelstrom on the wall!

Each night the adventure grew closer, we pulled one off the before we drank our rum.

Finally, our ship and its crew were prepped and ready.
Twas the eve before our depature.
Disney2009Pirates008.jpg

The crew gathered decked out for All Hallow’s Eve (a couple of days early) in order to pull the last rodent off the glass.
We were scheduled to depart the following day – October 30, 2009.
Disney2009Pirates009.jpg

Now while the Cap’n (that’s me) mapped out our trek to the finest detail, our wench was responsible for outfitting our rag tag crew.
So, we had crew attire laid out for every occasion and labeled accordingly.
The clothes wench even made sure we knew which set we should wear in the AM, and which for the PM.
Disney2009Pirates001-d.jpg

Then it was time to stuff the wardrobe into our satchels and shove off into the seas beyond.
Our wench even found bags with that little rodent on them again and each crew member had his or her own.
From the Pirate Princess

To the 1st mate

To the little ensign swabbing the deck

To the Captain’s personal satchel

And with that, we were ready to head out for adventure!!
The rodent had sent us some mysterious keys to board our vessel in his land so we made sure we had those handy.
There was one adult pass for the wench:

And two passes for the little buccaneers modeled after some flea-bitten dogs who will most likely steal the key later on…

Me? Well, I was still armed with my Annual Pass to this land of rodents.

So with all our entrance papers taken care of, we headed to the transportation center.
First up, a large flying contraption.
Looks more like a sea monster with wings if you ask me…

Hi Everyone! I am WAY excited that we are back to posting a TR for an adventure I was actually a part of!!! I will try to keep up & give you my perspective when time allows. Thanks to all of you for following along! :thumbsup2

Also, before I sign off, I just have to say that while my husband might think he is cute talking all piratey like that, he only gets to call me a "wench" so many times before I break all his fingers to stop him from typing. So if his updates suddenly stop without explanation, you will know why... ;)

Hey!
Someone's going to be walking the plank...

So, this next time, are you going to form the countdown itself into the shape of the Big Cheese's head? Is the window quite large enough for that?

Glad you're finally onto this TR, as it means our trip in January is THAT MUCH closer. Yay!

The countdown sign is very cute!

Everyone looks so excited to pull off that last Mickey head!!!:woohoo::cutie: I would be too!

I love the luggage! It's so cute!

Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays so I can't wait to hear about Halloween at WDW :)

Love the countdown window! :) I'm trying to talk Jon into going next year for MNSSHP, so I can't wait to see pictures so I can show him how the parks are decorated. Based on your wife's cute outfit choices for the day, I'm ready to see what your costumes look like!!!!

Nice update Mike :thumbsup2

The Countdown calendar is great ! In-fact it has inspired me to go to Home Depot and get some of those Mickey heads this weekend and get our countdown calendar ready . We should be able to start ours a week from Monday :yay:

Great job organizing the outfits Mom , I refuse to use that word the Mr. has been calling u and I totally understand if he stops typing this report ! My DH would lose a finger or two over calling we that word continuously too

Can't wait to read more !! popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::
