The Phillies won the world series & I'm taking my nieces to WDW! *update 9/2*

Quick question.... who is J's favorite princess? Do you know? Does she have a favorite princess?

And does M have a favorite princess too?

Thanks!
(All will be clear soon... in less than a month!)

aaaargh, I'm a terrible aunt cause I don't know J's favorite princess! Actually, I didn't think she was a princess-type girl at all... but she asked me about eating with the princesses so who knows. :confused3 (I still kill myself for not asking her which princess she wanted to eat with when she brought up the topic... blah for lost opportunities) When I originally asked about favorite characters/movies, their mom mentioned 101 Dalmatians.

I'm told that M has a definite preference for Aurora/Sleeping Beauty... although she also likes the other princesses.

I can't believe how close it is getting! :cool1:

Ok must say I am so jealous that you got to go to not 1 but 2 of the playoff games...JEALOUS!! But hey got to see the parade so Im ok:cheer2:
Glad to hear you are feeling better! And I wish I had an "Aunt" like you growing up. Im 40 and am finally going. Hope you guys have a fabulous time!!

Alright, thank you.... ;)
I'm making J a birthday card, and then I figured M would want something too, so I'm making her a little princess thing.

Spreading the pixie dust! :wizard:

(although technically it was one playoff game and one world series game....) I was at Citizens Bank Park for the speeches at the end of the parade. :cool1: Thank goodness I have a cool boss because I missed a ton of work that month-- I literally came back from vacation and went straight from the airport to game 5 (part 1). I feel so lucky I got those tix to the 2 games... and that I got to hear the great Harry Kalas sing "High Hopes" in person... and I am so happy I can sorta pass that good fortune onto my nieces.

Hope you have an awesome time too!

Alright, thank you.... ;)

Awww, that is so sweet! I'm sure they will love anything- they are always so appreciative of any presents or kind gestures. (fortunately we are not going for M's birthday- J has a tendency to be jealous of her younger sister, and sulk when she gets attention although she is not as bad as she was... but M doesn't really get jealous like that)

I'm so glad you're feeling like yourself again!
Are you packing glow necklaces or bracelets or anything like that? Justin is too old for the toys they sell in the park but I still think given the opportunity to have something like that he'd take advantage. I haven't decided if I'm just gonna go to the dollar store and get some for all of us (because anything my boyfriend does, Justin will too!)..or if I should call and ask him how he feels about it.
I love that its seriously time to think about packing! And getting things together!

Yep, got a bunch of glow thingies for all of us! Me included. :) I am hoping to hide them until we are waiting for evening shows (instead of including them in the welcome gift bags I am making) but we'll see how that goes.

How old is Justin again? I'm not sure I am too old for the toys they sell. :rotfl:

Justin is 10. I think if he'd want them, it would be more of an impulse purchase! I have a hard time getting away from those as it is! So if getting some glow necklaces in advance helps both him and I make better decisions with our souvenir money, then thats just what we'll have to do !!
My brother is 18 and he still displays in his room a Buzz lightyear glowy spinny toy he got when he was 6!

I love getting my nieces all the totally useless stuff that adults would never get for me when I was a kid... like the glowing spinny things you get at circuses/ice shows... So I'm sure I'll be getting them a lot of useless stuff at WDW :rotfl: I'm just very happy that I am in a position where I can afford it...

I'm so proud of myself... I actually went into Home Depot and got some lime green mickey heads! :cool1:

Stopped off at staples to get some laminating sheets today and now I have a lime green mickey hanging from the camera bag that I will be carrying around the parks.

3 more weeks.... :cheer2:

Thanks!

Yay for another Dis'er who is a Phillies fan! :cool1: Getting Lee was awesome- I think Amaro realized that the Blue Jays weren't really serious about negotiating for Halladay and I give him kudos for switching his efforts to Lee... whose debut Fri was amazing.

I still tear up thinking of game 5 of the World Series... just like I tear up when thinking of certain things at WDW. 2 things that are very close to my heart.

Go Sox! :rolleyes1

Sorry.... had to represent. ;)

Only 3 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And 3 weeks and a day for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you do any more shopping?

Oh, no you didn't! Not on my thread.... ;)

I was lamenting the fact that I have been so darned prepared that there isn't much for me to do right now. I did buy some candy to add to the girls' welcome gift bags... and zip lock bags so I have plenty to use when packing (ever since my tube of toothpaste exploded all over my suitcase at my first sleepover when I was 7, I have been the queen of packing things in zip locks)... and more luggage tags because I think my nieces will need to borrow some of my luggage, and a luggage tag was a casualty of my last trip...

Still trying to find Disney dollars in the $10 denomination. My local store has been out of them :P

Next wknd I will call and make sure all my room preferences are in order, and try to straighten out the celebration info for my niece's birthday. I think they screwed that up because it comes up as "not celebrating" when I pull up my ADR's online... the CM seemed to have trouble with the fact that I wanted it listed for one of my ADR's but not the others. So now it shows up that way for all of them. :confused3

Have to remember to call to make an appt for a hair cut!

Would it be so bad to have it on all of your ressies? It can be so hit or miss with restaurants anyway! Whether its a birthday or just being there, everyday can be a celebration! We need to schedule haircuts too!
Happy August! :dance3:

I Could not agree with you more!!! Now, if my darn Eagles would make moves like the Phillies and give me a Superbowl, I'll be a really happy camper!!!

2 reasons why I don't want it on every ADR...

#1... J said she doesn't want to wear a birthday button if it means that everyone would sing happy birthday to her. I don't get it, she loves to show off... but she doesn't want that much attention. CRT apparently doesn't sing- just decorates the table and gives a birthday cupcake. I think she'd enjoy that. :)

#2... I don't want J to get so much attention that M will get jealous (since we can't come on M's birthday). The girls are funny in that sometimes they get along marvelously... and then other times are ruled by total sibling rivalry/ jealousy/fighting. J is more likely to get jealous of attention showered on M... but M has her moments. Last yr, I took off work to spend the day with J after her elementary school graduation- I bought her Webkinz at the mall and we went ice skating. When we got home, M was in tears because we didn't get her anything. (I hugged her, explained that this was a special occasion, and promised that when she graduates in 4 yrs, I will spend time with her and get her Webkinz or the equivalent... she was eventually ok)

I called for my haircut today. How awesome is it that the salon called my stylist, and she agreed to stay a little late to fit me in 8 days before my trip! (she actually leaves on her own vacation right after she does my hair) :cool1: That was the only day that could really work for me.

That's so nice of her! I'll call in a week or so to get an appointment for mine to be trimmed. I think I want to even it out a bit, I don't like that it tapers down to my face. The back is fine, but not the sides, they just look messy. (And not the good messy)

I'm horribly lazy about getting my hair cut... with the result that it is now really long and the color is all faded... I usually only get motivated to get my hair done when there is a trip coming up- have to look decent in all the photos. :rotfl: It's pretty bad when I can't even remember the last time I got a cut...
