The Perfect Super Bowl Seat!

Bob received a free ticket to the Superbowl from his company.
Unfortunately, when Bob arrived at the stadium he realized the seat was in
the last row in the corner of the stadium. He was closer to the Goodyear
Blimp than the field!

About halfway through the first quarter, Bob noticed an empty seat 10 rows
off the field right on the 50-yard line. He decided to take a chance and
made his way through the stadium and around the security guards to the
empty seat.

As he sat down, he asked the gentleman sitting next to him, "Excuse me, is
anyone sitting here?"

The man said "No."

Very excited to be in such a great seat for the game, Bob said to the man
next to him, "This is incredible! Who in their right mind would have a
seat like this at the Superbowl and not use it?!"

The man replied, "Well, actually, the seat belongs to me. I was supposed
to come with my wife, but she passed away. This is the first Superbowl we
haven't been to together since we got married in 1967."

"That's really sad," said Bob, "But still, couldn't you find someone to
take the seat? A relative or a close friend?"

"No," the man replied, "They're all at the funeral."

Thats funny. I really wonder if there is someone out there that would actually do that.

Well on one of the other Superbowl threads, New Orleans DISer's were talking about churches closing Sunday night, and schools possibly being closed Monday due to the Saints being in the big game. :lmao::thumbsup2
So maybe not as extreme as the PP's joke (which was good, by the way). But we take our football pretty seriously.

I am pretty sure that is is a Christian thing, not just a Catholic thing, but catholics don't have funerals on Sundays. A wake, sure. The joke would be funnier if it said they were all at her wake. Especially since it's a night game. Who is at a funeral at 6pm?

As a joke, it's funny..as for anyone really doing something like that, fortunately, they would not be able to even if they wanted to.

We live in Indy and our archbishop gave his staff Monday off, which includes all of the catholic school teachers in central and southern Indiana. So, we don't have school. Of course, I am sure our archbishop is going to the game himself.

The Indianapolis Public School Superintendent tried to do a 2 hour delay since 3 years ago the school bus drivers didn't show up and they had to cancel school. The State Superintendent of Schools said "NO WAY", and right now the public schools have a 1 hour delay, it will be interesting to watch.
