I've read rumors for a long time. I'm excited to hear something more substantial than now. I hope they have some good theming maybe tying it into something like River Country.
I guess I just haven't seen anything here since they say it will have DVC.
Preliminary soil sample permits were filed a while back. The other permits were filed a bit more recently, but it has been a rumor for some time now. Excited to see what it will be and a bit curious if this means we lose the trail between WL and FW,
I find it hard to believe construction will start before the construction for the new Star Wars Resort as the same builder is hired to do both. The Star Wars Resort should begin construction by next year and be completed in 2020. So I think it will be more likely 2020 before the tear down of the old water park even begins.
What DenLo says makes a lot of sense, but then there will be some other DVC project to fill the gap between Riviera and this. There is a rumor of an hotel built at the entrance of Epcot. Also there's the new DLR hotel but it has been pointed out that regulations may make DVC there unlikey or even impossible.
They'd still need a plan and a builder to get started sooner.
Arguably, even if DLR gets a DVC in the project, it'll max out around 1.5 million points, and sell through in 2 months, so I don't see that it will satiate the ravening revenue beast.
There will be bungalos with a rear patio, except the little mini pools will be filled with filtered bay lake water (changed monthly whether they need it or not). River Country villas. I'm ready to buy!
