The one with the NON-Photos and the ever changing title, 7/11, updates galore!Pgs 6&7

nts4wdw - If you want, I can change the color font of my spoiler so you have to highlight it to read it. I don't think I gave too much away, but I don't want to ruin it for you.

No need for that! I asked a friend at work about it and found out enough. I'm preparing myself. Thanks for the concern!
10 days for me, 11 for you!!!

MNRMommy and hollybearsmom, glad you are still reading, and thanks for the well wishes for our trip! We still have ten days to go, so believe me, I'll still be posting random dribbles here until we leave.

nts4wdw, hopefully you're friend didn't give too much away! It really is a good movie, I hope you enjoy it. I totally agree about needing happy endings in movies by the way!

Alright, onto said random dribbles . . .

I got SO excited yesterday. This kind of excited::banana: . Wanna know why?

There is a thread on the resorts board about Walk Around the World coming back.

Oh, you don't know what Walk Around the World is?

That's what they call those engraved bricks in front of the Magic Kingdom. I love them. Love, love, love them. In fact, as nts4wdw and I have decided to go back to middle school, if I could marry those engraved bricks I would, that's how much I love them.

And I've wanted one for ten lllllooonnnnngggg years. I think I mentioned on my first post that Mr. Twingle and I honeymooned at Disney? The correct statement should be, that Mr. Twingle and I honeymooned in ORLANDO. Because we didn't stay on Disney property, we stayed at Mr. Twingle's RCI resort. I could never remember the name of it, I used to call it Bob's Hotel, which made Mr. Twingle have a nervy spaz. In reality, it was called Bryant's Spanish Cove, and it was very nice.

Now, you have to remember when Mr. Twingle and I married, I was but a young lass of 23. A mere babe, in hindsight. Now, I had never been away from home when we got married. I didn't go away to college, I didn't ever have an apartment with some girlfriends. I had/still have a great relationship with my parents, so I never moved out. Went from living with my family to living with my husband. And, in addition to that, Mr. Twingle and I NEVER vacationed together before we got married. I did not spend the night, EVER, in any sense of that word. It was not the Twingle way.

So, when we were planning our honeymoon, Mr. Twingle thought it would be nice to go to the Virgin Islands. Yes, that would've been nice, but I figured about three days into laying on the beach I would be jonesing for home. I wanted to go somewhere that I couldn't even be bothered to think of my family, and how I'd never live with them again (sob!really, I was happy to be married, but my family is close, see?) So I mentioned Disney World to Mr. Twingle. He had NEVER been, poor deprived 32 year old child. I figured if I couldn't be occupied at Disney World, I was one hard babe to please.

Now, I mentioned to Mr. Twingle the only thing I really wanted from our honeymoon was to spend just one night in a Disney resort. I'd only stayed on property once, and that had been seven years ago. Really, it was the only thing I asked for.

And one thing you should know, is that Mr. Twingle is exceptionally tight. Not to be confused with cheap, because Mr. Twingle is not cheap. The first time we went to church together, he was wearing a suit that was about 14 years old. It had flare pants and everything. I gently mentioned that it might be time for a new suit, and was told that said suit cost $300 when purchased. In 1982. It was now 1996. Time for a new suit, dude.

Anyway, we arrive at our honeymoon destination (Bob's Hotel), and wander our way over to the Magic Kingdom. Where they have a billion signs (really, I counted. And I still remember, ten years later.) advertising the Walk Around the World. I thought that would be WONDERFUL, to purchase a brick commerating our honeymoon.

Mr. Twingle said it was too expensive. Without checking to see how much it was.

This was to be a re-occuring theme to our honeymoon. It's okay, we're still married, and happy, and everything. I just have a memory like my son. I remember IT ALL.

You know those bride and groom ears? Too expensive to purchase. And, I found out the last night on our honeymoon that we were NOT staying at a Disney resort.

Why?

Say it with me: It was too EXPENSIVE.

Mr. Twingle did not know at the time that the cost in money was not to be compared to the investment in the marriage.

So, Disney stopped selling the Walk Around the World bricks in July, 2000. And we never purchased a brick, but I still thought about how nice it would be to always be at Disney.

And then yesterday, I found out that they are selling them again. There is not a smilie with a big enough smile to express my joy in that.

Yesterday I was trying to figure out how I could convince Mr. Twingle that we really needed to purchase a brick this time around, and trying to figure out which of my womanly ways to use so that I could do this. Or if I just needed to put my foot down with a firm hand and tell him that I was going to purchase the brick.

Know what he said when I told him Disney was selling the bricks again? He immediately said, "Let's purchase one". Didn't even ask how much they were. I did this: :scared1:

Who was this man that looked like my husband? And wasn't even interested in the fact that the bricks had gone up in price about 200% in ten years?

I think he was feverish. But, he's agreed. So, we're getting our brick.

Whoo hoo!

Updated to add: I just got off the phone with Denise, and she is emailing me an application for my brick.

Whoo Hoo! Happy day, HAPPY DAY!

Those t-shirts you made are just brilliant!!! Wow!!

Oh and I like the blonde hair! Good for you!!

Glad my kids don't read this. Reminds me of DebIrelands post about finding leather chaps for her son's Halloween costume. Don't be so naughty, he didn't dress up LIKE THAT. Go read her TR, it's a stitch.

Aw, thanks!!! :thumbsup2

believe me, I'll still be posting random dribbles here until we leave.

I should certainly hope so!

Know what he said when I told him Disney was selling the bricks again? He immediately said, "Let's purchase one".

:woohoo: You're getting your brick!! Woohoo!! Every marriage needs a brick. It's so, er, romantic. ;)
brick.jpg

What is that? Silver is for 25 years and gold is for 50? What's 'brick'? :lmao:

OK first off I am so happy I stopped by this am. When we were on our honeymoon in 1995 DH wanted one of those bricks and for some reason we didn't get one. They were still filling in the area right next to the MK so we would have been close too. Every year we go back he has to make a comment that "we could have had a brick right here." I am so happy they are selling them again so we can get one when we go. Or maybe I should get one before and surprise him???? Who is Denise and how can I get an ap lol.

Do you know where they are placing them at the moment? I thought the area near MK is pretty full.

Also wanted to say that I feel your honeymoon pain. Outside of the brick DH was what you would call "tight" on the trip too. Now I was lucky to stay on property at the WL and we were on what was called at the time the "golden plan" or something like that which included hotel, recreation and dining plus a few odds and ends. He kept track of what things would have cost us out of pocket to make sure he got his money worth. Drove me nuts. And anything not included was questioned as to whether we really needed it. Lighten up dude it's a Honeymoon :rolleyes1.

OH, you lucky thing! I want a brick sooooo badly. Still working on it! ;) May have to use some feminine persuasion.........

nts4wdw, I can't find the user name of the girl that did that rainbow shirt for me. Let me look a little more and see if I can find it. Good luck using that feminine persuasion, I know what it's like to want those bricks!

MNRMommy, the telephone number is (407)824-7890. I left a message yesterday, and they called back today. The woman I spoke with was Denise, but I know some people have spoken with Dean, and others Roger. According to the thread on the Resorts board, they are supposedly filling in the blank bricks by the entrance to the Magic Kingdom, and are discussing doing a brick walkway into Toontown. We don't care where our brick is, just want that bad boy in there! What's up with the tightwad honeymooners? Granted, Mr. Twingle was tight for a number of years, he's just recently gotten around to my way of thinking. Which is, yes, you need to save for a rainy day, but you also need to live a little. Or alot, depending on what I see that I think the family needs.

DebIreland, glad you like the shirts and the hair! Oh yes, much more random dribbles to come. We haven't even talked about the numerous things at Disney that I didn't know exsisted, or the rides I've never been on! And yes, "brick" would be a honeymoon gift, however, motar dosen't come until ten years, three kids, fifty pounds, or whatever comes last.

I've been working on nts4wdw's dyed shirts today, so here's a few pics from that. And just so you know, out here in the boonies I have dial-up, so it takes me 45 minutes to upload 4 pictures. It's okay, you're worth the sacrifice.

I didn't have any Home Depot Mickey Heads, so I made my own using a large Mickey Head paper punch I had gotten a while ago at A.C.Moore. I punched out a hundred or so (no really, it was only 30) Mickey Heads out of posterboard, and masking taped them to a white t-shirt.

Viola:

This is the dye I used. nts4wdw used a different kind that you mixed with water and then put into a spray bottle, but I couldn't find that kind around here. The dye I purchased is called "Tulip Cool Color Spray for Fabric". Here is a picture of the bottle:

Viola:

Then, and this is where my brain stopped functioning, I took the shirt and dye out to my garage to dye. It is only 4:00. My kids go outside after dinner. By walking through my garage. And the shirt has to stay put for 24 hours to dry. Hhhmmmm. Guess we're going out the front door tonight!

Here's what the shirt looked like after applying the dye:

Viola:

9ec7ef2c.jpg

Tomorrow afternoon I'll rip those Mickey Heads right off that shirt and . . . oohh. That sounds a little mean. I mean, once the dye has dried, I'll take the Mickey Heads off. Hopefully I didn't get too dye happy, and the Mickey Heads will still show white. Also, I think that nts4wdw did the back of her shirts also. I can't be bothered with that, I have SEVEN of these things to make. Plus, I don't really care what the back of my hair looks like, let alone the back of my shirt. As long as I don't have a buttcheek exposed, I'm good.
So, even though I'll probably post again either later tonight or tomorrow morning, I won't post another picture of a shirt until tomorrow afternoon at the earliest.

Still waiting for my pics to upload. Waiting, waiting, waiting. La la la.

That is gonna look so cute. I like the old navy t shirt. I wouldn't have thought to use one of those. I always wear the boring old man t shirts. Looks like I could do a little more trip shopping......;)
9 more days for me, 10 days for you! You're almost to single digits!!

nts4wdw, have you heard of ebates? You get a refund check about every three months, and oldnavy.com is on there. So is disneyshopping.com! I think with oldnavy you get 3% back each time you make a purchase there. Sometimes the t-shirts are on sale for $3 each adult sizes, $1 each child sizes. I try to stock up then, just on the plain white ones. Also, if you have an oldnavy card, you sometimes get really good coupons. And, their shipping is always only $5.

But, we have plenty of the old man t-shirts also! That's what I did the iron on transfers with. A.C. Moore was having an awesome sale on the t-shirts, I think they ended up being $2 each?

So, I don't know if I mentioned this yet, but

I LEAVE IN NINE DAYS!

How cool is that? Wicked cool, or double cool, depending on how cool you think it is.

Did I mention that this is my ninth trip to Disney? Oh yes. Would you like to know the things I have NEVER done, and have every intention of doing on this trip?

OKAY!

Never been on/seen:

Splash Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Flying Carpets (Magic Carpets?Alladin Carpets? What are they called?)
Carosel of Progress
Tom Sawyer Island

Soarin
Test Track
The Robots That You Make At Innoventions
Off Kilter (highly recommended)

Kali River Rapids
any of the shows at Animal Kingdom

Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular
The Great Movie Ride
Lights, Camera, Motorcars (?Lights, Camera, Blow Stuff Up?)

See, there's lots of stuff I've never done! Hopefully I'll get to it this time.

Mr. Twingle is faxing our brick application this morning. It'll say:

Twingle Family
estb. 1997
Twingle Town, Virginia

With the traditional Mickey Head at the top. I'm excited! I know it won't be there in nine days, but hopefully by the time we go in October.

My DS's Field Day is today, and I'm helping out with that. Hoping the t-shirt turned out good, I'll post pictures of it later tonight.

Have a great day, everyone!

I love the brick idea I was looking at the Epcot legacy thing but that sounds better, do you know how much it is?

Love your shirts hope the mickey heads come off right :thumbsup2

Wow you have got lots of rides/shows to do this time :goodvibes

My dearest Twingle,
You must make time for Off Kilter!!! And that large puddle you will see somewhere in front of the stage. Yes, that is my drool! :lmao: They are so talented and very cute. I usually catch a couple sets! :Looking forward to seeing the shirt later!!!

Holy Moly Guacamole dear readers, I have almost killed myself with the pingy-pongo smell of that dye. Yuck-a-roo! What is in that stuff? Ode to stinky armpit? Essence of Port-A-Jon? I just got done spraying seven more shirts, and I'm about ready to hurl. Yuck. So, if this post doesn't make sense, it would be because I've killed off a few more brain cells dying shirts in a closed room (my laundry room, FYI).

And yes, I did dye SEVEN more shirts. For a total of EIGHT shirts. Because Nana did not like the colors in her first shirt, EVEN THOUGH SHE TOLD ME WHAT COLORS TO USE. Oh yes. Everyone has to have a shirt that they like, in order to wear it. Those are the rules.

Didn't have any problem ripping the Mickey Heads off, although, I didn't wait the full 24 hours. Patience is not Twingle's middle name. Nope.

Here is my shirt:

I think that one looks like a mixed flavor kaki-gore from Epcot! :)

DD #1's shirt:

She wanted it pink, pink, and more pink.

DD #2's shirt:

Sweet girl just said to "use whatever colors you have left for me mumma". So sweet, so I made her's first. Well, after mine.

And yes, I know that there are three more shirts out here in Twingle Land, but please God don't make me go back into that little room that stinks to take more photos of shirts. Hand to God I will take pictures tomorrow. Promise!

I have got to go get some fresh air - :headache:

Feeling better now, after some fresh air, and a few spoonfuls of hot fudge topping. No, I did not eat ice cream with the hot fudge topping, just spoon into jar into mouth. Yummy Scrumbos, and also Scrummy Yumbos. Try it sometime.

DisneyJo, the Leave a Legacy at Epcot is around $35 I think. I don't think it's more than $40. You can have a photo with two people, or wording, maybe three lines of 15 characters each? The bricks are $295, which whoa, it's a BRICK, but, it's a Disney brick! I'm counting it towards a birthday/anniversary gift. Mr. Twingle likes to purchase jewelry for special occasions, but usually the girls and I don't get all gussed up to slum with playdough during the day.

Yes, have lots I'm hoping to get to during our trip. That's the thing about Disney, no matter how often you go (or don't go, whatever the case may be), there is always something new that you didn't know was there.

nts4wdw, one week left for you! I don't remember, but are you driving? Please remember to be safe, which I know I don't need to tell you with your DH being a Police Officer and all, but here's some pixiedust: for a safe trip to Disney. I will make sure to bring a towel to wipe off your drool, but boy, Off Kilter sure does have a reputation to live up to! I'm looking foward to it!

lonegirl, :welcome: Nice to have you! I'd much rather be a hoot-n-a-holler than come across as trying to put 10 gallons of crap into a 5 gallon hat. Glad you're enjoying my little pre-trippie!

So, remember how I went to my DS's Field Day? I don't know if you noticed in the Non-photos I posted, but the Twingle Bunch is pasty folk. You know those black lights on the Buzz Lightyear ride? Yes, we glow in those. Yesterday, I was outside from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. In the sunshine, but I used SPF 50, a few times.

Guess what?

I missed two spots. Which left red spots. Want to see?

Sorry, have to wait until the pictures upload. Feel free to hum the Jeopardy theme song.

This is my wrist. Not too too bad, but not the color my skin normally is. I was trying to avoid getting sunscreen on my watch. Next time, I'll put the sunscreen on first, and then put on the watch. Problem solved!

95cdc8d4.jpg

This is my neck. Mr. Twingle said, guess now you're a redneck. Ha ha ha. Not. Hopefully it'll fade a bit before next week, so I don't have a pink stripe on my neck in our Disney photos, and look like I've been necking with an eel. Or Davey Jones. Who is kinda hot, in a fishy type of way.

I braved my laundry room again to take some more shirt photos to share. I tried to stand downwind of the shirts, but alas, I live in a house, and not a tent. Therefore, there was no wind.

This is Nana's shirt:

901e8c50.jpg

She likes these colors much better.

This is Papa's shirt:

e5f0b9ed.jpg

I think he'll like it, he's kinda quiet on the whole shirt thing, as he's one of those strong but silent guys.

This is Mr. Twingle's shirt:

4ec13578.jpg

He thinks it's nice. Good thing, as I have no more dye.

Your shirts turned out good the white mickey heads really stand out :thumbsup2 Your sun burn looks really sore ouch!!!!

I don't know if you noticed in the Non-photos I posted, but the Twingle Bunch is pasty folk. You know those black lights on the Buzz Lightyear ride? Yes, we glow in those.

:rotfl2:

Mr. Twingle said, guess now you're a redneck. Ha ha ha.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: OK these little giggles will get me through going to Walmart. I hate grocery shopping :guilty:

Or Davey Jones. Who is kinda hot, in a fishy type of way.

:sad2: oh that is icky in so many ways

So, wanna guess where I was last night?

Bet you'll never guess!

It's where EVERYONE Eight days out from the start of their Disney trip want to be! (not!)

I was at the Emergency Room!

Wanna know why?

OKAY!

Twin #1 brained Twin #2 with a metal elephant, and Twin #2 needed a staple put into her head!

Oh, yes, you did indeed just read that right.

I'll repeat it, just in case.

Twin #1. BRAINED Twin #2:headache: . With a METAL elephant (it was a ring holder, it now is residing in the garbage can at the ER). AND. Twin #2 needed a STAPLE put into her head:eek: . To close the wound, you see.

Please tell me that I am not the only one that has children like this.

Did you know that head wounds bleed ALOT? My poor girl looked like a redhead. Wanna see a picture of the staple (just because that's the type of mom I am, I had to take a picture of it. I swear it's because some people don't believe me when I tell them the things the twins do. I have an entire photo album just for what we refer to as "Mischevious Moments.")?

Here ya go:

7a6400ac.jpg

How sad is that? Terrible, horrible, sadder than sad SAD, especially since it was her own sister that did it to her.

So, Twin #2 get's to go first in EVERYTHING for the next 5-7 days, and I have again showed super human mommy strength in not killing Twin #1. Although, I do think maybe an exorsism is in order. I don't know if she's just a bad seed or what, but oh my gosh, I'm having bad thoughts about Caine and Able.

Didn't get anything done for our trip yesterday, and today will be spent taking care of Twin #2's every whim, so no Disney stuff today either. We're going to Target later when Mr. Twingle get's home, so the poor girl can get a special treat. I'll even let her pick out one of those god-awful-ugly Shrek babies if she wants one, because she likes them (although mom think's they're beyond nasty.)

If you are so inclined, please offer up a little prayer for me and our family. Just asking for strength and patience ought to cover it.

And just so you know, since there are lots of caring people on the Dis boards, Twin #2 is just fine. She's doing a-okay. Still have to cuddle and love on her, because goodness sakes, it was just a sad and scary moment. Mom has not yet recovered. I think I need an Oybolshoi drink.

Aw poor baby. Give her loads of Irish hugs from me. That must have hurt a lot. :( But give Twin 1 loads of hugs too from me cause she must be feeling bad (somewhere deep inside)!

I hope Twin 2 feels better soon. Oh look, just one more hug cause my heart hurts for her.

Your sunburn looks very sore. Ouch!

The t-shirts are amazing. Love them. :woohoo: Excellent job!!!!

Last time, I promise, one more group hug for all of us including Twin 1!!!!!! :grouphug:
