Around 5pm the kids woke up and we decided to head to Disney Springs for dinner, all of us in a much better mood!
Unfortunately we had to wait at the bus stop for 30 minutes - oof! When we finally made it on the bus it was absolutely filled- standing room only! We had half the stuff with us that we do on park days but enough stuff (+ the collapsed stroller) that made it for a not-so-fun bus ride
Eventually we made it to Disney Springs and made our way toward mine & Matt's favorite - Polite Pig! It was packed and we had to wait for a family to leave before we could grab their table, I'd never seen it so busy! But it was a Friday night after all.
All of us were in such a good mood! We ordered the Slider Trio:
Slider Trio
Southern Pig, Low and Slow Brisket and Fried Chicken
$18.00
Two kids meals:
Chicken Tenders
served with Carrot Sticks, Lil' Ranch Dipper and Apple Juice
$9.00
Mac and Cheese
served with Carrot Sticks, Lil' Ranch Dipper and Apple Juice
$9.00
An order of ribs:
Layla's Ribs
Polite Rub, Layla’s Sweet BBQ served with Jalapeño Cornbread, Signature Polite Slaw and choice of one Market Side
$26.00
With two IPAs (Ravenous Pig Five Points IPA) for Matt & I to wash it all down
It was all delicious, as per usual!!
Time stamps on the photos above are 6:20, and after eating we stopped inside the World of Disney (Matt always on the lookout for a new hat) but didn't find anything. While he shopped, I decided to place a mobile order at Amorette's Patisserie for some sweet treats to bring back to the hotel room.
Fruit Tart Croissant
Croissant filled with Diplomat Cream topped with Fresh Fruit
$8.25
Éclair
Pistachio, Hazelnut, or Vanilla ***(I think we got vanilla)
$7.50
Goodies in hand, we made our way back to the buses where we made a last minute decision that if the AoA bus wasn't there, we'd take one of the other Skyliner resort buses back and hop on the Skyliner. As we walked through the bus drop off/pick up area, a bus driver spotted the kids and gave them two transportation chips. Cool!! After thanking him and continuing walking, there was another bus driver who I believe had just gotten off duty who we stopped to chat with. Somehow it came about that we were from MN so we talked at length about MN/WI. He was very nice but very chatty!
As we said goodbye, a Riviera bus pulled in so we hopped on that bus where we again chatted with the Bus Driver, and he also gave the kids two transportation chips! Today was clearly a day for bus/bus driver related pixie dust!
We got off the bus at Riviera, marveling at it's beauty. Matt was adamant that our next visit we stay here. Ha!! Keep dreaming, sweet cheeks. Ain't nobody (AKA us) got money for that!! But it was fun walking through the beautiful resort, pretending like we fit in
As we moseyed over to the Skyliner, we had the kids get out of the stroller so Matt could collapse it to get on.
...only, it wouldn't collapse. He pulled and yanked, yanked and pulled, shimmied and shammied (I don't think that's a word but it fits in this scenario) until finally a CM appeared apparently out of no where and goes "We've been watching you try, you're fine"
Huh???? He allowed us to just drive the double stroller on to the Skyliner. WHAT. This whole time we thought it wouldn't fit through the doors but it does.

They must have called ahead to the workers at the CBR station because as we got off we attempted to quickly let them know why we had it assembled within the Skyliner but they already knew. Whew! When we made the transfer to Art of Animation thankfully it collapsed. Weird! The kids & I were cheering for dad when he finally was successful
We made it back to the room a little after 8pm where the kids quickly showered & watched a couple episodes of "Old Mickey's" from the couch while they enjoyed their treats.
