Friday 20 August

This morning we went straight to the Park for EMH and it was already very hot.

Main Street was quiet as we walked down it.

We went twice on Buzz - I was returned to the store as|I had a baaaaad score. Next we all went on Peter Pan and Dtr and I went on Dumbo.

Aaah, look at the lone figure standing at the fence down there. :)

Back to Discoveryland we trotted, for Dtr and H to go on Space Mountain for one more head-rattling, teeth-jarring, thrilling ride.....so they tell me. :rolleyes1

We went back to our room them to pack, check out and have breakfast. It was here that we saw one of our fellow countryman being so arrogant and patronising to a CM that I almost wanted to go up and apologise on our nation’s behalf. He wasn’t being quiet with his complaint and it was all about how his egg was cooked. H and I then had a muttered conversation that went something like...
“That bloke is a bit cracked”
“Yeah, it’s no yolk, is it?”
“Brains must be scrambled”
“or fried”
“I think he’s taken the wrong a-poach”
“Oueuf! That was a bad joke!”

At which point, Dtr just burst out with “What are you two on about?” which made us laugh even more.:rotfl2:

Anyway, back at the Park things were already busy but we had great fun wandering around and soaking up the sunshine and just watching things. At least our rain soaked start to the week had allowed us to get on lots of rides – now we were content to enjoy the sun. Mark Twain wasn’t very queue-y so we went for a ride on that

I can't quite remember what H was doing in this picture - a bit of a hoedown maybe. :confused3

Keel boats not running again.

The Molly Brown in for a full refurb

There were quite a few people waiting for us to finish our trip.

100_4253.jpg

BTM was showing 60 minutes. Indiana was showing 35 but we queued anyway and it was only actually 15 minutes.

100_4254.jpg

We went for a further explore around Adventure Isle, seeing some stuff we hadn’t the night before.

100_4256.jpg

then we went on Les Pays de Doo Dah

and continued our slow stroll around saying goodbye to the place. Amazingly it looks really quiet in this picture.

H + D had their traditional dance outside Pizzeria Belle Notte.

Look at the queue to see the princesses. :scared1:

D took this photo and said "Dad, look romantic" Hmmmmmmm. My face is red due to the sun, not his silliness!

We went over to Studios and queued for about 35 minutes for TOT but it was the middle of the day, so I thought this wasn’t too bad.

We had about 10 minutes to wait after this for our reservation at LR des Stars

when a real life rodent ran across the path near us – as bold as you like – and it WASN’T a little field mouse. *shudder*. This other family were even closer and the other mum’s eyes met mine and we exchanged a look of horror.

Anyway, off we went for our appointment with the AA rat known as Remy.

It was our first time in Rendevous Des Stars and we liked it very much. It was quite loud in there and lots of kids rushed around but it was ideal to fill up in the middle of the day for a very reasonable price.

The choices included for starters: tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce, beetroot, grated cheese, croutons, coleslaw, potato salad, olive salad, pork pie, ham, 2 sorts of melon, vine leaves, couscous and mushroom a la grecque. For mains: pizza, meatballs, pasta bolognaise, chicken wings, steamed veg, ratatouille, roast potatoes, chicken and peperonata, bouef bourguignon, pilau rice and barbecue ribs. For desserts: 2 sorts of parfait, fudge brownies, different cakes, crepes with chocolate sauce, jellies, crème caramel, marshmallows and sweets.

When we came out the heat was very intense and lots of people were finding bits of shade to relax in.

We walked straight into Stitch Live which was just about to start. H was the escapee from Space Prison.

Time was running out for us now. H went for a final cup of coffee outside Starbucks whilst Dtr and I went back in the Park for some last minute shopping – that’s when I got my Grumpy hoody. It wasn’t until I was back in the UK that I realised it still had the security tag on it. At least I had the receipt so H could take it in the Disney Store near his office the following week and they were able to remove it for me.

We stopped off at City Hall and bought our MNSSHP tickets – with 50% AP holders discount. :thumbsup2 Our time was up – we had to head back to the Village to meet up with H and make our way to the car. It was about 6 o’clock so we’d had quite a full day there.

Look who joined us for the journey home.

We had quite an uneventful journey, making a flying visit in the Duty Free at Calais (well what else do you buy as a present for an 18 year old student who is not into Disney?) and were home well before midnight.

*Sigh* How long until the next trip?

Oh yes, only 8 hours ........so it's time for bed.
