Day 7 - The One Where We Went Home

Friday 21 August

There was a change in our routine this morning in that we went to the Park first thing instead of going to breakfast.

We went to go on Buzz but it was broken – always seem to break down on our last morning but fortunately by the time the other two had ridden SM, Buzz was up and running. On our first go round I was thrilled to get my highest ever score of 497,000. On the next go, it kept stopping so often that Husband became an Hero Galactique when he reached 999,999 and could go no further. I had 5000,000 and Dtr had 560,000, then the lights came on and all the barriers came up around the targets and we thought we may have to get out, but after a few minutes it started up again. Only thing was –all our scores had been wiped so we have no evidence of these!

We went for our last ride on Peter Pan and then went back for breakfast having worked up an appetite.
We checked out of our room – I was expecting the bill to be left on my door, not realising that you check it all on the TV now. The car was loaded up, we bought Dtr a new autograph book and went back to the Park, visiting Salon Mickey for the only time this trip.

Once in the Park we got chatting to a very friendly CM, Glenn, who is clearly a real Disney fan himself and was telling us all about his trip to WDW. Our next ride was POTC.

Then we went to watch Goofy’s Summer Camp at the Chaparral Theatre which was good fun (but NOTHING like Tarzan – sigh)

There was a group playing outside the Cowboy Cookout as we passed by.

It was time for our meal at the Auberge de Cendrillon. The food was very nice and enjoyed by us all.

When we came out we were surprised to see that the queue for Snow White was quite short – we were queued and off the ride within 11 minutes! Yes – on a Friday afternoon!

We went to the Fantasyland station and waited about 20 minutes for a train – during this time our son phoned from home to say he had received 2 offers of University places so that put us in good moods, despite the fact this was our last afternoon. We did a complete circuit of the Park, and snapped a few photos – including Dtr feeling sad to go home.

We decided to make IASW our last ride of the trip and there was very little queue for this. All too soon we were walking down Main Street for the last time, although I did manage a few last minute purchases.

We got back to HNY and set off for home. Dtr stayed awake the whole journey........just kidding! This was her 5 minutes down the road.

All the plushes looked forward to getting home and showing their newest member around (Sully) – note how the flower balloon had to come home too.

As for all the purchases I mentioned – here they are laid out in their glory when I got home.

In conclusion – this was the best holiday ever – we all agreed on this. The hotel, the weather, the time by the pool, the meals and the DISNEY of it all combined to make this our trip of a lifetime. It was too hot on occasion but we just decamped to the pool or our room with A/C and cooled off like that. It really was the most fantastic week.

Hi,

Great trip report! I have just read it the whole way through! It must have been so magical seeing your daughter dancing with perla and seeing the happiness on her face as she mouthed the words thank you to you! It looks and sounds like you had a brilliant trip! You definately managed to fit in many rides each day!

I have read many of your trip reports in the past and they have always been great!

Your DTR is a really pretty little girl too, bless her:)

Thanks for sharing your report!:)

I've really enjoyed reading all your reports. I've really missed DLRP this summer so it was nice to look at all your lovely photos.

I'm now looking forward to your Halloween report. :)

WOW!! Just read your reports, they're fab!! Your DTR is quite the artist!! And bless her face when she was leaving. I love all the picture of the surrounding area your other half took while off on his travels too :)
You really are a fab mum!:thumbsup2

That was a real treat - a whole 7 days of Hildasmuriel family trip report :banana:.

Thanks for sharing - I love love love reading your trippies .

Yet another great trip report. :thumbsup2 I can't believe how grown up your daughter is looking now. I have to ask but is that a new dlp puzzle? I don't think i've got that one. May have to plan a sneaky trip just to buy it. :rotfl:

Yes that is the new Christmas puzzle. The theme for Christmas this year is icy blue and white.

Go on, make a trip to buy it!

what a great tr. looks like you had an amazing trip. i love all the stuff you bought. cant wait to see some christmas merchandise on sunday.

What a great trip report, sounds like you had a fab time, thanks for sharing! I can't wait now, seems agggggggggggeeeees til we go in Feb!

Whenever I need info on a season or event at DLP, you're always there for me hildasmuriel
Thankyou your trippie has answered all the questions I'd thought of with regards to a possible August family trip.
I was interested to read that at the time you said it was your best trip despite the heat and the crowds. :thumbsup2

Funny enough I was reading this trip report earlier :cool1:, did you get your daughter's bag whilst there and if so how much did it cost?, would like one for my daughter to carry her own bits in on our first trip, thanks :)

Jill this was definitely up there with the best holidays we've ever taken. I am almost a little anxious that we are trying to duplicate it this August, thinking that it can't possibly match it. :confused3

Bagpuss - do you mean the little pink bag she carried everywhere? This was a Christmas present a couple of years ago, not from Disney (probably Primark!)

Trying to book our next hol/trip is proving to be a nightmare OH has specific shutdown weeks and not enough spare days to make a DLP Halloween trip worthwhile, so I came up with August and a combined Disney/summer holiday.
I had visions of early morning starts in the park, lazy afternoons around the NPB pool and late evenings watching fireworks or sipping cocktails, your trippie was perfect, exactly how I'm imagining it will be. :lovestruc

Easyjet have a fab price on flights and of course the 40% offer will be useful.
