Day 1-Part 1
I set the alarm for 4 but I didn’t sleep so gave up at about 3:30 and got ready, my Dad didn’t get up till just before 4:30. I had a pain au chocolat for breakfast and then we left at around 4:45am, we got to the airport just after 5. Air France had emailed our boarding passes to us, so need for checking in, security was walkthrough and we went straight to the waiting area. There’s no real gates as such just one lounge with a desk every so often. I saw my french teacher from primary -which tends to happen every time we fly in to or out of Aberdeen- we also saw someone my Dad used to work with and they happened to be on the same flight going back.
We had boarded the plane, which was meant to leave at 6 but left at 6:45, we landed at CDG at 9:30 but were stuck on the plane for 20 minutes and then bused to the airport. It was now 9:55 and we were planning on the 10am train but that was not going to happen. We got to the station just after 10 and tried to exchange the tickets in the ticket machines. These machines were a nightmare we got mine exchanged but wouldn’t exchange my Dad’s then when it started working again he could only exchange his to the later train, we found the ticket office and it took them 10 minutes to exchange them again, it was now 10:45 meaning it had taken half an hour for the system to exchange to tickets.
We got to the platform and carriages were clearly marked on the platform but there was no mention of them on the train at all, also no ticket man came to check them, so you could probably get on for free from CDG to Disney. We arrived at about 11:15, a hour after I had planned, this was due to Air France being so slow.
We headed to the Disneyland Hotel, check in was easy but we got given a room with one bed but they changed the room with no bother whatsoever. We dumped our stuff and I got changed and then we headed into the park. Big Thunder Mountain was first ride and the wait said 30 mins so we used the hotel fast passes. I love Big Thunder Mountain but it is really loud when you go uphill. We then headed to Buzz which was walk on and were going to do Space Mountain but it was shut, we had lunch in Cafe Hyperion which was just expensive McDonalds food but they were playing old cartoons so we sat there for about half an hour watching them. I think we went on Buzz again and were going to do star tours but decided against it and we headed back to our room and there were 2 chocolate coins on each bed.
