Now don't get me wrong, I am never happy to come home from the World, but I love reading food reports, so I was a little excited about making one for our trip. I didnt get pictures of every single thing we ate, but I did get a lot!

So hop on board and see how someone who hasnt eaten meat in a year made up for it on this trip!

Places to be reviewed:

Sunshine Seasons
Coral Reef
Everything POP!
Starring Rolls Cafe
Main Street Bakery
Crystal Palace
Restaurantosaurus
Yak and Yeti
Mama Melrose
Yorkshire Co. Fish Shop
Le Cellier
Kringla
Cinderella's Royal Table
Tangierine Cafe
Goofy's Candy Co.
Earl of Sandwich

And maybe more - I cannot remember all the places we ate!!

I guess I should introduce myself and who all I was traveling with before I get on to the good stuff!

I am Jennifer - I turned 30 in the World and had the most magical time of my life! I do not eat red meat, poultry, pork - you get the point, but I do eat seafood.

Matthew, my DH, just turned 31 and helped make my birthday in the Worldeven more magical! Matthew eats the same as me, but declared since he was on vacation, he was eating anything he wanted!

Gianna, our wonderful 13 month old daughter. She has never met a stranger and makes friends where ever she goes. She is so full of life and spunk and we love her more than anything in this world. She is also the queen of silly faces.

And last, but definitely not least - Mimi - my mom - She is the best person to bring to Disney. Up for anything! She eats meat, so no restrictions for her!

Your family is so cute!

Cannot wait to hear all about it!

I love reading these reviews. I have learned so much about different places to eat at WDW....sounds like our daughters are very much the same though! She always has a good time wherever she goes.

Looking forward to seeing your pics and hearing your dining report. I'm hoping to cut out a lot of the meat I eat this next time, especially at non-buffets.

Hey Jen!!!

Gianna is adorable, hope you've got plenty more pics of her!:goodvibes

Thanks!! Of course, most of my pictures this trip were of her! There will be plenty more!

Welcome!
can't wait to read more! :)

Thanks!

You changed your title...
(I am still wondering about the original title and how you got comped...)

No, I still have my trip report going on - this is just a food report. Stayed tuned in to the other one to see why we got our room comped!

Thanks so much!

That is how I learned about some of the places we ate at as well. I love food reports! Yes, our daughter loves being out in public and meeting new people. She just learned to say "HI!" and wave, and so everywhere we go, she walks up to people and waves and says Hi!

Looking forward to seeing your pics and hearing your dining report. I'm hoping to cut out a lot of the meat I eat this next time, especially at non-buffets.

Up first....Sunshine Seasons...I learned about Sunshine Seasons from the DIS and heard it was a great CS to try in Epcot, so since Epcot was first on our list of parks, we decided to give it a try.

For me, I went with the Grilled Vegetable Cuban Sandwich: $7.59

Disney2008007.jpg

This was HUGE!!! And very good. All the veggies were grilled just right and there was a good amount of cheese as well. I could have used a little less cheese, but overall I would go here and eat this again.

For dessert I had the apple flan.

Not bad, not my favorite. It had a good flavor to it, but the clear jelly part on top kind of turned me off of it.

Matthew had the turkey and muenster cheese sandwich and for dessert her had the butterfinger cheesecake.

he said both were very good and he gave them both a thumbs up! :thumbsup2

Overall I would definitely say this is a great CS restaurant! We all enjoyed it and would go back again.

What an adorable family you have. Happy belated Birthday. I celebrated my 40 th at the world a couple of years ago. I can't think of a better place to celebrate!! Looking forward to more awesome pics and reviews.

I was really excited about eating at Coral Reef and I already knew what I was going to have from reading other food reports!

We got to our ADR's a little early hoping to get a table earlier than 7:30 because we had all been up since 4am and were getting tired. We got a table shortly after arriving and were shown to our table. It wasnt near the aquarium, but we still had a great view. This restaurant reminds me a lot of a restaurant we have in Houston called The Aquarium - though the food at Coral Reef is much better.

G checking out the restaurant

Couple of drinks for me and Matthew....

Octopus juice
Disney2008051.jpg

This was SOOOO good - it is like a pina colada, but better. I loved it.

Reef Runner for Matthew
Disney2008052.jpg

I am not sure what all this has in it, but we both agreed the octopus juice won hands down.

Onto the main course..I got the Grilled Mahi Mahi with cashew-jasmine rice topped with a spicy pineapple chutney finished with a malibu rum beurre blanc. (Description curtosy of Allears!) Oh. my. goodness. This was incredible. Everything was wonderful. I practically licked my plate clean.

Disney2008058.jpg

Matthew went for the Fish of the Day - which was Grouper that day. This was to die for as well. Crispy, crunchy goodness. Yumyumyum.

Disney2008061.jpg

And for desserts I was hoping for the Key Lime Tart, but they were out and had a Butterscotch Creme Brulee instead - I am a sucker for Creme Brulee, so it was a no brainer for me. Matthew tried the Jack Daniel's Mousse.

Disney2008002.jpg

Mine was great - creamy and delicious. I couldnt taste one bit of butterscotch, but it was wonderful nonetheless.

This is much larger than I thought it would be. In pictures, I thought this dessert looked small. It is not. It is served in a large glass. I thought it was okay, so did Matthew. Not our favorite, but not bad either.

Overall rating - We LOVED Coral Reef. This was my favorite food of the whole trip. I know Coral Reef doesnt get the best reviews in here, but this is the reason I like to try things out for myself. We loved it and will go again. I am so happy we went here!

Keep em coming. I also loved the Coral Reef, we ate there last week. I am so thankful for these reviews it helps when picking out restaurants when you know what the food looks and tastes like.

Great review so far. :goodvibes Your Gianna is beautiful. :)

What is in the octopus juice, it looks like something I'll have to try in December. :goodvibes

OOPS, my bad...I will have to make sure to read both of them...

We really enjoy Coral Reef as well. We are skipping it this time to take our daughters to Akerhaus for dinner and lunch will be at LeCellier (to try some new things). But I know I am going to miss CR.
