The Official Who's Going in October of 2007 List!

Thanks for the nice welcome!!!!! I feel right at home already ... we're going mid-October ... deciding between Wilderness Lodge and Polynesian. Both beyond our budget ... but we've heard such great things about both. I love advice -- so any tidbits you can toss my way I'll gobble up!!!

Our next trip will only be our 2nd full one as a family, and our 1st as DVC owners, and we'll be staying at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge for the 1st time. We've heard wonderful things and are really looking forward to it! We picked it primarily because of the boat service to Magic Kingdom, since we have 2 little ones who will want to spend most of the trip there. Looks like we'll miss you guys though, since we're returning on Oct 8th.

From what I've heard (and read extensively here in the DIS and elsewhere!), you can't really go wrong with either of those choices. Our 1st trip we stayed at the Contemporary, and I must say that it was GREAT having monorail access, so that is an extra point for Poly . Especially with a 15 month old at the time and going back to the resort for naps every day - I LOVED the monorail! That's why my fingers are crossed for a DVC at Contemporary, but that's another thread!

Have you checked out the Resorts board? Folks over there will have all sorts of opinions on each resort, and discuss details about them that may help you decide. Let me know if you have any questions at all - I'll always try to help answer them. I like to "pay it forward" the way other DISers gave me so much great info when I first found the boards.

I booked this past weekend! Its official We will be at POP from oct 13-20th and we are hopefully going to be at MNSSHP on the 16th! Now, just have to pay for it all......

Your tips are so helpful -- thanks so much, Carolyn and co. We're finalizing our trip for Oct. -- we're either going 10/7-10/14 or 10/9-10/16 ... Columbus day is the 8th ... any advantages to avoiding that week???

OH DEAR GOD IN HEAVEN..........NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! It's my birthday and the only thing I have wanted out of my entire vacation is to be at the MK and see regular Wishes that night. I have no idea if they have ever done a MNSSHP after Oct 31st, but that seems pretty odd!! I don't think I'd be too worried about it. There seem to be so many reports that CM's are telling people that official dates aren't out but use the 7pm close as a guide. As others have said, it ain't final 'til the Big Cheese himself says so, but a November party?? Seems ridiculous! I think/hope your bday celebration is safe!

Also, I don't know if I am considered an "offical" member of Team Focker Watch, but I'll be sporting LGMHPC's, and will gladly "give the sign" back if it's given to me.
