Stephanie -- Your son is adorable.

Becky -- Yum! That soup looks great. I like your new bowls.

I'm not sure WFD here yet. Liam is home sick from school with a fever, so that means I can't get to the grocery store like I planned. I'll let you know what I come up with later.

I hope all the sick people get well soon. :wizard:

party: :bday: (belated) Jacob

I made chicken marsala, roasted potatoes, and broccoli for dinner last night.

DS doesn't have school today and has a science fair project due on Monday, so that's what we'll be doing today. Thank goodness the sun is out because his project is a solar still.

Tonight we're having spaghetti with meatballs and salad.

Not sure wfd here. We may take the kids to Chuck E Cheese (YIKES!) to make up for not going on DS's bday as planned. If not, I have a new recipe for Pumpkin Ravioli with Gorgonzola sauce that I want to try! TGIF all!

Afternoon all-- I finally dragged my butt down to the computer, Kris worked unreal late last night, so between my wrist, my cold, and being tired I am very unproductive today, lol. Ross doesn't have school today, so that was one other reason to stay in bed. We have a busy weekend, football banquet tonight, then we have to go get my grandmothers groceries, tomorrow Ross teaches at Karate, and then he will help set up for the skirmish, and then we will be there almost all day on Sunday for the skirmish.

Kathy--I can't wait to see Kyle's casual pics!!! Make sure to scan and post them once you do get them!!

Nancy--Ross thinks the burgers at school are yummy too? What is up with that?

Laura--How is liam feeling? I hope Caili doesn't get it too!

Sheryl--the bathroom looks great so far!! I love the tile you have picked!

Julie--I haven't had a chance to give you a proper welcome from myself yet!! So welcome, post often and share your recipes!!

Stephanie--I love the pictures!! Thank you for sharing, what a cutie he is! I loved the waffle in his hand while on a golf cart!

Aimee--You will do just fine!! We are all behind you 100%!

Gretchen/Glynis/Janice--how is everyone feeling today?

WFD will be take out from one of our favorite seasonal places, they close the day before Thanksgiving so we try to get there once a week their last 3 weeks. They won't open again until June :(

Have a great Friday all!

Hi Y'all,

Thanks for the kudos on the remodel!

Stephanie, Your DS is the cutest!!!

Becky, You continue to amaze me with your creations!!!!:thumbsup2 I would have never thought to combine squash & feta on pizza, it looks & sounds delicious!!!!

Wendie, Sorry your feeling so bad! I wish I could bring you soup!

Hope everyone else who's feeling sick get's better real soon too!:grouphug:

I'm still feeling under the weather too. and now I'm itching & popping benadryl so I'm feeling really tired. So probably no cooking here tonight. It'll be either leftover red beans or takeout.

Y'all have a good day!
Sheryl

Heavens! Let a girl get sick and miss a day and boy, I didn't think I would catch up. If I miss someone, please forgive me.

Aimee I'm sure you will do well on Sunday. I know you are well prepared and you have lots of friends pulling for you. I'll say another prayer for you Sunday morning.

Sheryl sorry you're still feeling poorly. But WOW does the bathroom look great! You must be pleased.

Janice Sorry to see you have joined the ranks of the ill and infirm on this thread. It seems we are dropping like flies. :rotfl: Seriously, I hope you are feeling better.

Nancy How did Kady's sleep over go? Did she stay the whole night? That is such a hard thing for some children. Patrick had a friend this summer stay over for the night (the boy was 11). Because we don't go to bed until we are sure the children are asleep, especially when they have company, Kenny and I were in the den when just before midnight the boy came into the den. When I asked him if something was wrong, he said exactly this - "When I spend the night somewhere for the first time, I don't stay the whole night. I go home. Then the next time I spend the night I stay the whole night." :rotfl: It was all I could do to keep a straight face, and Kenny sat there on the sofa with a bewildered look on his face. He really had no idea what the child was saying and I had to ask him to please take the child home while I called his mother to let her know they were on the way. True to his word, however, the boy stayed the entire night on his next visit.

Stephanie Glad to hear you are feeling better. The pictures of your son are just precious. It looks like he had a great birthday.

Laura Your shepherd's pie sounds good, notwithstanding any potential cafeteria flashbacks. ;) I think it is sweet that Caili loves the Little House books. Those were my favorites through about 3rd - 4th grade. I had several and I read them over and over. I still have one that was a gift from my third grade teacher. It was actually one the school library was going to throw away because the cover was frayed and it was coming apart from the binding. She inscribed it with "Treat this book like the dear old friend that it is." Funny what you remember.

I've got some errands to run, hoping the proofs for Kyle's "casual" senior pics are ready. It's going to be very hard to choose, there's over 60 pics.

Don't forget to share. :goodvibes

Sandy Dare I ask what DS is making in his still? ;)

Wendie Another busy weekend for you I see. Take care of yourself. Good luck to Ross with the skirmish.

I'm feeling a little better this afternoon. A couple more days of Zithromax and I should be all well. That is the plan anyway.

This weekend Amanda and Patrick are with their mother, so it is just Kenny and Hailey and I. Tonight will be baked salmon with maple sauce and cheesy orzo with some kind of steamed veggies.

Have a great weekend everyone!
Gretchen

Thursday night we had some flatbread pizas. This one is butternut squash and feta cheese, and the one you can sort of see to the right is roasted pepper and portobello mushroom:

Last night DH was back from Florida, yippee! I made cheddar-beer soup, and served it with a salad with pomegranate seeds and a baguette with emmenthaler, proscuitto, and cultured butter (no proscuitto in mine!):

Not sure wfd yet...

I love pomegranate seeds!!! Can anyone tell me the easiest way to get them out of the peel?????

No idea what's for dinner tonight! We're still trying to get the house ready for our company. We do have to run to Costco, so we may just eat there. We can feed the whole family for a good price on the hot dogs there.

I think I'm having a bad day. I went to get some hot water for some tea and got distracted and forgot to add the tea bag. Needless to say hot water is not tastey. Now I did add the tea bag only to have it fall off the string. I think I may jsut call it a day and go home now.:sad2:

I think we are going to have chili tonight I plan on spicing this cold out of me.;)

If I remember correctly they have darn good pizza!!

It is pizza and wings nite in my household!!

Sounds like a great night!!!:thumbsup2

I hope things get better for you after you're home.

Well the photography studio is yanking my chain again.:headache: Now the proofs won't be in until Monday and now I find out in order to use the discount the school provided I have to place the order within three days of getting the proofs. It's going to take me a while, I found out there are 88 proofs.:scared1:

Kathy I may not be the sharpest tack today but I think they don't want you to use the discount.

Gretchen -- Your dinner sounds so great. I really wanted salmon or some other fish tonight.

Instead, I had spaghetti and meatballs. Liam wanted pasta AGAIN (as Caili said) so since he was the sick one, he got his way. I am happy to report that he is feeling much better. I'm not sure whether it was the Tylenol, the eight hours of Gameboy or the apple crisp I made for dessert that did it, but he is fever-free and looking like himself again. :thumbsup2

We are down in Houston. Love the schnauzer, we just got one. In fact, we are trying to find someone to watch her while we are in DL at the end of the month.
No, dinner for us tonight. DH and I are attending a Gala for our girls' school. The kids will get....Uh.....frozen pizza. Maybe I'll be nice to my MIL (who is babysitting) and order her a deluxe.
Take care,
Julie

If you were closer I'd watch her! I finally got Pixie adopted out and wouldn't mind a 4th under foot for awhile =)

Thanks for all the kind words regarding Sunday! My goal is to practice some more tomorrow but try to not think about it after that. My gut can't take the stress so I have to put my mind on something else ;)

Tonight is grilled chicken, potatos, and some veggies. Easy easy!

Kathy I may not be the sharpest tack today but I think they don't want you to use the discount.

:thumbsup2 I second that opinion.

That is how it works in my house too. The sick person gets to choose dinner (in hopes they will actually eat). I'm glad to know he is feeling better. Hopefully he won't share with his sister.

Just quickly checking in to say Good Morning Friends!

Hope everyone is doing good and feeling better!

We have really enjoyed our time in Disney...eating way too much good food.

Went to Marrakesh, Nine Dragons and Le Cellier and Raglan Road tonight. Also tried alot of the offerings at F&W...even had some Rosa! ;) The St. Germaine martini in France was awesome...we have some pics to share but mostly of me and BigMama doing what we love to do...:drinking1 :drinking1

Marrakesh was OK...way too loud in there.

Nine Dragons OK too. You know us, we love Chinese. Nothing special but a must do for the boys.

Now, LeCellier is my neck and neck restaurant with Cali Grill. I had the mussels, mushroom filet and mousse. My dear friend, Kathy, turned me on to those mussels and OMG, they are good! :thumbsup2 They were smaller mussels this time and the broth seemed thicker, but just as good as the last time.

That cheddar cheese soup is to die for. We had it outside (F&W) and in. the one outside was a little different...not as sharp but good. Tom had the NY Strip which the chef recommended when he stopped by the table. :thumbsup2

We enjoyed this dinner with my SIL, BIL and nephew (BigMama and Clark-Kent) and they enjoyed this restaurant very much - they were LeCellier virgins. BigMama had the salmon...said it was the best ever.

OK, I think I have babbled enough to make up for the week I've been gone. I miss you guys.

Becky, I was talking about your great pics with my BIL yesterday. He has taken up photography as a hobby and I was raving about all your pics.

Oh, I had an IRMA moment when I fell onto the bus last night. The bus was higher than I stepped so I misjudged or maybe it was the martini, torontopolitan, bass, ice wine, and whatever else I drank all day! ;) :thumbsup2 ETA: We also had the frozen drinks in France. Love them! I liked the Grand marnier orange one the best.

Peace out sistas! I am off to enjoy a day at the pool.

Good morning everyone.

Tonight we are having leftover chili. I may make an apple pie since I have apples that need to be used up soon, maybe ice cream on the side.

I feel much better today I think that sore throat and stuffiness was just my allergies since it still hasn't done anything else. I hope everyone else is feeling ton's better.

AimeePlease try not to stress I know it's easier said than done. Take care of yourself.

liamandcaili Glad to hear Liam is feeling better a whole day of gameboy always make my son feel better.;)

Lauren--Sorry but I had a little chuckle at your expense this morning. Just picturing you not quite making that bus step made me giggle. Hope you didn't hurt anything! Sounds like you're having a great trip. Can't wait for the pics

Well, we did end up having pizza last night, but not at Chuck E Cheese (Thank God!) I convinced DH that CEC would be a tad crowded on a Friday night, and did he really want to fight all those kids??? He heard the voice of reason and we hit our local pizza joint instead.

Not sure WFD tonight. But I'm cooking lunch for one of DH's co-workers and his GF. Nothing too exciting--mainly b/c I ask DH what they like to eat and he says, "Um, well, I know he likes chicken and corn" What kind of answer is that! He knows I need a tad more info than that. So, I'm making BORING teriyaki grilled chicken breast with corn on the cob and a green salad. And I guess this guy is also a neat freak, so I get to spend all morning cleaning. Goody for me.

Hi All! Just a quick Hello, I have a lot to do today. Dinner last night was leftovers for Buddy and me, I shopped with Marisa and Kady at the Disney Store ( amazing deals there, we each got a 30% coupon and I found a pretty dress coat for Kady along with some Holiday dresses) I have no idea what the rest ate, they went to Daniels.

Tonight I am going to try to make spaghetti and sausage with a salad and garlic bread. I am testy with Buddy (again) so I may not.

Aimee- stop thinking about it....we will think enough for you, you just enjoy the experience :thumbsup2

Lauren- :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: You made my day!

Kathy- :headache: This place does not have a great track record with you do they?

Gretchen- Kady made it all night!
