Not sure what I'm having for dinner maybe a piece of fish I'll have to see what hits me at the store later. I need to lose some of the holiday "ounces' I've picked up.

Glynis I hope your little one wasn't up to long last night and is feeling a little better today.

I'm off to finish the laundry and do a little cleaning so I can dive into the mountain of paperwork I've been handed.

Morning ladies. We ended up with pizza AGAIN last night, but at least this time it was from a good pizza joint! Tonight is another "up in the air" night. DH is back at work today, so we'll see what I come up with.

Glynis--so sorry your baby is still not well! PD that she's on the mend today!:wizard:

Good morning ladies!

Glynis - for poor Leslie. I hope she's feeling better this morning.

WFD - A few weeks ago I made Lauren's spaghetti sauce with meatballs & sausage and I froze a huge container and it's thawing now. All I have to do is cook up some pasta, make a salad and some garlic bread. Can't wait - it's SOO GOOD, especially on a chilly rainy day.

Janice - it's raining and going down to 50 tonight!!:cold:

Tease

We didn't get to much snow since it was pretty wet not the fluffy dry stuff. It could have been very intense. I think we are getting into the high 30's here :thumbsup2 If I can get to my grill tonight I may grill inside we will have to see.

I forget, how close are you to Chicago? Just wondering if there's snow predicted for the Saints/Bears game tomorrow.

No just cold. Don't worry about the Saints, they will do just fine. Hopefully the game will be a good one and the Bears don't die a early death.

The Saints have a lot of key players and I'm not talking about Reggie Bush that are out injured. I have a feeling our season's coming to an end tomorrow. When you start out 0-4 it's pretty hard to come back from that.:sad2:

Kathy- I am going to wait until after the New Year to figure out my finances. Buddy is still in a walking trance over Christmas, I told him how much NYE cost and then he got the insurance bill. I need to give him a chance to recover before I send him over the cliff ;)

I did not adjust the potatoes at all. I made a lot so I used two whole bulbs of garlic, they were not garlicky, they were not lemony, they were just tasty.

Glynis- The ooze may not be the burst eardrum. I had never had an ear infection, but then got a doozy. My eardrum was close to an explosion but the drugs helped with that. I had a lot of drainage but the Dr said that was the fluid from the infection. It was nasty and there was a lot. I hope little Leslie is the same. nasty drainage but no damage. Give her a hug from Auntie Nancy, will you?

Sheryl- I love to watch little ones open their Christmas gifts. There is something so wondrous about them on this special day. My sister asked us to stay while she and the girls opened their gifts on Christmas Eve and of course Kady "helped". Her excitement over even someone else's gift was contagious.

Zipuzee- I cannot wait to make the lasagna for Donny. Now I have two recipes that I can use to bribe him into coming over. He is not a crowd guy and will generally pass on "Family Fun Day" until I pull out the big guns and ask Kady to call him. Now I will have another weapon in my arsenal :thumbsup2

Hmmm...things seem to be working OK today, so here are some photos, in no particualr order, of what I have been cooking lately:

Thanks, Nancy, I'll do that!

I'm pretty sure that it has burst. If not the eardrum, at least the blister that had formed on top of the swollen eardrum. I called the dr's office, and they are prescribing some drops, and I'll take her in to see him on Monday, and we'll go from there. At least she's not in any pain, anymore!

We are taking the kids to IKEA today. Katie gets to pick out a new bed, and Alan and I are picking up some DVD storage. Depending on when we go, we'll either have lunch there, or dinner. I'm pressing for dinner. I haven't started defrosting the hamburger yet!!!

If we eat here, it will be sloppy joe pizza. Better get to defrosting. If we don't have it today, we'll have it tomorrow.

Becky, the food porn is making me drool. I'm on a crash diet right now and I don't think I can eat any of that yummy goodness.

Today is my sister's birthday and we're going out to celebrate, I just have no idea where. She is supposed to pick.

Becky - great pictures, as always!!

Glynis - I hope Leslie is feeling better. Sounds like a fun shopping trip today! I've never been to IKEA but if I ever get into an area with one, that will definitely be a place to visit!!
Your London trip sound fabulous! I hope you and Katie have a great time!!

Well, my NY day went from 13 to 3 and its now back up to nine. So I guess we'll be cooking lots of cabbage and black eye peas!! Others are bringing ham, potato salad, gumbo, rolls, and dessert.

Tonights wfd is split pea soup and bread.

Becky Those pictures are making very hungry.

Laura Those cookies look fabulous too:thumbsup2

Becky's pic always make me hungry!

i am not cooking tonight. W have so much food here and we are going to have a Harry Potter night. I finally caught up with the rest of the world and read the books but I have never seen a movie. We can rummage in the fridge for goodies and perch on the couch.
