Kathy--according to our weather man this morning, whatever Tropical Depression is in the gulf right now won't reach hurricane status--I surely wouldn't hope for a hurricane for ya'll just so we'd get a little relief! Hopefully, there isn't another storm brewing out there in the gulf. As much as I love the friends we've made that are Katrina transplants, wouldn't want that to happen again!

The one that may be in the Gulf by Monday is Dean and it's predicted to be a hurricane by this Friday.:sad2:

Kathy, My head is still stuck in the sand on this subject! I'll just pretend I didn't just read that! ;)

Hi everyone. I'm a bit of a lurker here but I just had to delurk to share this.

I copied some of the recipes from this thread and finally got around to making one tonight.
We had the Buffalo Chicken Lasagna and wow that was just fantastic!
My husband was raving about it, said it was definitely a keeper :thumbsup2

I was a little worried how it would turn out since our Safeway here only had super crazy hot wing sauce, but I just put a little less than the recipe called for and it was perfect :)

So thank you so much to whoever posted that recipe. And also thanks for the easy to use index on the first page. Definitely a brain saver ;)

Next on the list to try this week is the baked hunter's stew.

Such an adventurous week for us :rotfl:

I'm glad you've stopped lurking. We're very friendly, and love to chat (well you probably noticed that, huh?). Keep coming back and feel free to share recipes.

I'm just about to head out the door, but wanted to stop by and say that I'll be praying for all of you in the path of what may be a hurricane!

Just know, you'd all be welcome to come to Utah where we don't have any hurricanes!!! I'd even make my famous roast for y'all!

See ya on Sunday! Mom's cooking tonight!!!!

I really need to get myself back to the neurologist for a neck & back checkup. I've been having a lot of pain & numbness, (not anything new for me, just getting worse) even swimming as been causing it to flair up. So keeping the weight off is getting tougher.

 Don't wait to get to the Dr. If it is getting worse it's time to think about yourself, you take care of your family and you need to remember that you need treat yourself the same way.

It's been on the news all morning. Lots of prayers and lots of wishing it away heading your way!

Some of us chat and then there are one or two of us that chatter :lmao:. Hope that maybe you babble a bit so that Lauren and I don't feel like we are the only non stop talkers. ;)

Welcome, please come back and share with us often.

I never cooked last night, stressful day! Today I am going to clean this house and take the kitchen back :rotfl2:. I'll try again for that easy grilled hamburgers. I have got to because Erica gave me a lot of peppers from her garden and I want to make onions and peppers to top the burgers so no deviating for me ;).

That sounds wonderful. I love hamburger steaks with peppers and onions!

All of you with heat issues........glad to take some up this was....it was in the 40's last night and right now it is a balmy 59 degrees, lol. Such is life in Maine!!

Dinner tonight will be Haddock.....not sure how I will cook it yet....maybe with a lemon sauce. We will have fresh green beans and cous cous with it.

Wendie I am having serious weather envy right now. Probably not so much November - April, but anything below 90 degrees sounds really good right now.

Sorry you aren't feeling well. Don't wait to make the appointment.

Kenny has been watching that storm since it was a tropical wave and told me last week it looked like it had the potential to become a real storm. I hope it passes both of us by.

Wendie and I are thinking alike tonight. The only variation in my menu is I'm having trigger fish.

Have a great day everyone.

Sheryl - Don't be like me, you know what I'm talking about, get your butt to the Dr.!!!

Glynis - Thanks for the invite, Evacuating to Utah sounds like heaven!;)

Nancy - I love it when you & Lauren babble. Thanks for the prayers, I need them.

Gretchen - I'm just like Kenny when it comes to tropical waves, I've been watching too. I guess I'm paranoid since Katrina, but this one looks like it will be a major storm, I'm sure I'll be freaking out by Friday.:sad1:

Glynis, Have a fun time! If we do end up having to evacuate again, I told Bob we are taking off for somewhere fun! So you might just see us up there in Utah!

Hey y'all, Thanks everyone for the concern!
The reason I'm in no rush to get to the dr. about my back & neck, is because it's been so frustrating in the past. I've seen several orthopedics & neurologist, I've had physical therapy that went on for months three different times in the past 15 years. All with little or no improvement. I have degenerative disc disease, arthritis in my spine & fibromyalgia. But I guess I need to get it checked to make sure none of the discs have totally collapsed.

Lauren- The stairs look beautiful, tell Tom great job!!!

Have a great day all!!

Thanks Wendie!

Everyone is having haddock lately and I have never had it...can you please describe it?

Lauren, Good luck at WW! But I'm going to just pretend that I don't own a scale for now!

I just wanted to let you guys know that I will be MIA tomorrow...Andrew and I are going to my sister's "shore" house to visit. I am still making stuff...I have a London Broil marinating since yesterday, NY style red onions are on the stove (both recipes are listed here) and cucumber salad.

Have a great day!

I hope you two have a great time! I know that London Broil is sooooo good.:flower3:

Opinions needed!!!!!!!

I'm in high gear planning mode today for our Disney trip. We're going for 12 days and have no breakfast ADR's planned. I was thinking maybe since our flight back home is late afternoon I'd schedule a late breakfast ADR for our last Disney meal. Since we're staying at BWI I thought about Cape May. We've been there for dinner before and didn't care for it at all but breakfast is a whole different animal. Just wanted to get opinions from y'all.:confused3

I have never been so I am not much help. We are going to Crystal Palace for breakfast this coming trip but really don't do breakfast at Disney...how about Kona? Tonga Toast sounds awesome...and the pressed pot coffee...not sure if you want to travel tho...HTH! :)

That is a great idea!! We'll have plenty of time, our flight isn't until 4:30.:thumbsup2

ETA: I just thought about the fact that we'll probably have to check out before and that means we'll be hauling our carry-ons with us.

Will Bell Services hold your things? I have always left them there and then picked them up on the way to the airport.

I never went to Cape May, but if you are looking for a Disney sort of end we enjoyed breakfast at 'Ohana and also Chef Mickey's. We liked 'Ohana because we did not need to get up, it was brought to us.

We've only flown once before so I'm not sure about bell services, but it sounds reasonable! Thanks Nancy, we've done 'Ohana for dinner but never breakfast.

I knew my WFD buddies would be a wealth of knowledge when it comes to dining!:goodvibes

The only problem with going to the Poly for breakfast I'm gonna want a cocktail!

We LOVED Kona Cafe for Breakfast and Ohana too! The servings are huge and yummy! Gotta love the Tonga Toast! :goodvibes

If you wanted a lunch I would have suggested Beaches and Cream but for breakfast, anyplace at the Poly is a good bet.

We are leaving Friday for Disneyland and I still have no idea where we are eating! I just don't know DL as well as I know WDW! Oh well, we will muddle through! :cool1:

Kathy I'm having the same dilema. Our return flight leaves at 4:00 so that means we have to be back at SSR to leave at 2:00ish. Oh the decisions to make where to eat a late breakfast/lunch.:woohoo:

I made ressies at Coral reef today that is such a beautiful place.

I made a red curry noodle dish for dinner. It was ok not the same as my Thai restuarant makes.

Anyone want some rain? I think I have had more than my fill. Looks like it is going to pour at any minute, better go drag the garbage down before it hits.

Like Nancy said, Bell Service will hold everything for you...how about a Mimosa or Bloody Mary!!!!:thumbsup2
