Hey ya'll! It seems when Rick's home there's less DISsing for me!

Good thing he left again this morning!:lmao:

Tonight is Kathy's Velvet Shrimp.

And I didn't have to "pre-stretch" my capris when I got dressed today! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Who's Oprah? :confused3 ;)
:rotfl2: :rotfl:

Good for him! If it were up to me I'd have beans every other Monday, but my guys love their beans on Monday and well...... it's "easy"!

That's why I was so shocked! I could feed that man beans everyday of the week & I think he'd be happy!:lmao:

I don't think we'll pay for extra events this trip. Last August I scheduled extra things for her and she got overwhelmed. Then we ended up taking her to 1900 Park Fair to wind down. Should just have taken her to breakfast in the first place :confused3.

Jeff is going to take a segway tour and will probably like to try some of the beers around the world so maybe Marisa and I can wander around and Kady can enjoy the kid stations.

We did move Kady in with us. DD and DSIL had planned to move into a new apartment and the people living there would not leave. The landlord needed to evict them so they stayed with us during the process. DH, the old softee, asked them to stay for a while and now I think the house would be like a tomb if they moved. He and Kady are best friends, and I adore having her for company.
:thumbsup2

I am just trying to decide what to cook right now, but I am feeling pretty lazy. I made some half sours this morning and will do something with ground turkey.

I really don't think I'd pay the extra for those events with Kady along either. It's hard too justify the cost for us, much less for a child!

So are you & Buddy ever going to LET them move out?! :lmao: I know y'all are enjoying it!

And if the Foodnetwork stars this year were the best of the bunch, our Liams sisters have got it won already, don't they :thumbsup2

Yeah, Our girls could have KICKED BUTT!!!!

It's wonderful that you have such a close relationship. I know my parents have added so much to my children's lives, and I think if my mom had her way, she would have the whole family at a big family compound or something. As it is, she has Becky next door and our brother in the basement, but the kids and I are about 40 minutes away.

I agree the liam sisters would kill the competition.:thumbsup2 And they already have a name for the show "The Liam Sisters"!!!!

Thanks for all the compliments. We tossed around the idea of a cookbook at one time, but it never really got past the "Oh, wouldn't it be fun to write a cookbook" stage. Our family members did volunteer to taste test our recipes, though.

I should report that Becky's cheesy garlic bread was just as greasy, garlicky and gooey as she promised. It was yummy. However, I am really glad I don't have a cholesterol screening scheduled for the morning. :)

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I know how it is, when Buddy is home nothing gets done! Congrats on your capris, you should be so proud of yourself!

Yeah, Our girls could have KICKED BUTT!!!!

Not if D has anything to say about it. Years ago he said Donny should move to his own place, and then whined when he picked an apartment close to work! Now we all hear if the kids are not her for dinner enough, or cards, or the races, or whatever :thumbsup2

Our girls could have mopped the floor with the girls in the winners circle!

SO where is the cookbook????? We are all waiting.......

I bet if your Mom had her way she would drag you closer to home as well. I know that when Donny was looking for a condo 30 minutes away I was sick, now he is only 20 minutes but it could be closer if I had my way.

Dinner was good tonight. We also had garlic bread and Kady had her bread plain....just like she likes. Blech! Now we wait to see if Kady is sick from the whey, it was almost at the end of a lot of ingredients, so Marisa decided to let her try them.

Hi Guys,

Wanted to check in and tell you guys that I will be MIA for a few days...going to AC. My friend had some free rooms coming to her so A and I are gonna tag along and go to the beach and boardwalk.

have a great week!

Oh wow! My dinner was so good! It was Rachael Ray's "Sloppy Joe DiMaggios." It was an odd idea, but I gave it a try. Mmmmm! And my husband loved them, too.

Here's the recipe:
Sloppy Joe DiMaggios

1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
2 pounds lean ground sirloin or ground turkey
1 packages beef or pork hot dogs, sliced 1/2-inch thick
1 onion, chopped
1 tablespoon steak seasoning (recommended: Montreal Steak Seasoning by McCormick)
1 tablespoon chili powder *I omitted this and just added some cumin*
3 tablespoons dark brown sugar
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 (14.5-ounce) can tomato sauce
9 soft burger rolls - like at the ballpark

Heat the extra-virgin olive oil, a turn of the pan, in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Add meat and crumble as it browns. Add chopped hot dogs after 3 to 4 minutes then cook 3 to 4 minutes more. Add the onions to the pan and cook to soften, 5 to 6 minutes more. In a bowl mix the spices, sugar, Worcestershire and tomato sauce. Pour sauce over the meat and simmer a few minutes to combine flavors. Slop onto buns and serve.

This sounds so yummy!!! I've got a freezer full of ground turkey and you can bet I'll be trying this soon!!!

Thanks Kathy and Glynis!!! My WFD friends are the BEST!!!

Oh well, I am off to take another 3 tylenol...besides having a swollen/bruised neck my friend just came for a visit...just loverly!!! I know TMI!!! ;)

Oh Lauren, I really hope you will feel better in the morning! Major hugs  & worry  about you my friend!!!:grouphug:

We are having leftover "Kitty Joe's" (<--- named by my husband) tonight. The recipe feeds a crowd and then some!

WFD at your house?

ETA: Hey WFD amigos, I have a question for you. I am trying to incorporate more dark greens into our diet. I was watching a cooking show recently and kale was added to a vegetable soup. I am making my Chicken Provencal Soup this week and decided to add some kale to it. Do you think this will be good?

Also, what else can I do with kale?

Good morning everyone!

Lauren - I hope you're feeling better this morning and have a wonderful time!!

Tonight we're having spaghetti pie, peas and Becky's cheesy garlic bread.

Have a great day!:goodvibes

What is spaghetti pie???

Morning all! Tonight is going to be "oven-fried" fish and chips. It's a new recipe, so we'll see how they turn out. Always have a frozen pizza if it stinks!

Lauren--Hugs to you! Hope you're feeling better this am!

I saw RR was going to make them ans wondered how they were. I also have a lot of ground turkey so this is dinner one night this wee.

As to the kale, I think it is a nice addition to soup, but I honestly do not know how to cook it. I like it when it is cooked right, but I ruined it the few times I tried. RR uses it a lot, though Lindsay.

I love the Kitty Joes thing, you two are so cute:)

I messed up the multi thing so.......

Lauren- Have a nice little vacation with your son, just rest, relax and eat. Hope that you come home feeling better.

Kathy- I make a baked spaghetti too, and I use a casserole. We like some leftovers and my DH could eat the pie plate himself.

I am doing laundry today and maybe some ironing if I get to it. DH wants to take Kady to lunch so it might be a tight day for me.

Dinner will be easy, maybe the kitty joes :thumbsup2

Morning all--

I just dropped Ross off for a field trip for the day, it is to an amusement park 2hrs away. He will get back from that with just enough time to have a quick snack and change to get to karate for 5:15. That will go until 8pm.

Lauren-- have a good time in AC!!! The time away will do you good girl!!
Kathy-- we love spag. pie here too!!! I got the recipe from Ross' preschool teacher years ago....When I make spag I always make extra pasta so I can make this the next day.

Dinner tonight will be up in the air...Tuesdays it is to hard to cook, as Ross has karate so late, and right through supper time....he just has a snack before he goes, and then another snack after. Kris is working late tonight as well, and will be happy to have cereal and toast. The man loves cereal, lol.

Have a good day all!!
