I checked that catalog I don't see a copyright so I think we all should adopt that motto.

Hi everyone, WOW I had three pages to catch up on, hope I didn't miss anyone. If I did I apologize.

Lulu - What an amazing pic!! We can't wait to start working on the planning, just ask Lauren, we're very helpful!!;)

Steph - Love the new pic in your siggie and tell DH he's pulling for a great team. Our city has embraced Drew Brees and he as done SO MUCH for our community. He's what every young man should aspire to be like.

Wendie - God Bless You for doing what you do for the kids. It takes a special person to do that job and you my dear are very special. Have a great and safe weekend!

Lauren - Blakitis is definitely what you've got, I hope you enjoy the concert!:yay:

Becky - I agree with Nancy, Ill eat your disasters in a heartbeat. I had to chuckle picturing you in the smoke filled kitchen, Mission Impossible music playing and DH with wine in hand - smart man!

Gretchen - I hope you enjoy the smothered cabbage.

Gina - OMG those mussels sound amazing. I love the LeCellier mussels with pretzel bread for dipping!:cloud9:

Sheryl - How adorable "Look like a girl and be beautiful", she's a doll!!! I do leave the shells & heads on the shrimp, I guess it's just tradition for it to be messy for us. But it is a lot easier your way.

Lori - I'm so glad you made it through the night last night, hopefully your sleep pattern will return to normal soon.

Welcome to the new posters - I look forward to sharing recipes with you!

I was back at the dentist this morning, he just wanted to check me out and make sure no infection had set in - I'm AOK! The pain and swelling should get better every day.

Now for the bad news Johnny has been suffering with bursitis in his shoulder for a couple of months now and had an MRI done on Monday. Dr. told us this morning he will need surgery, I think it's called a closed manipulation, where they maneuver the shoulder to break up the scar tissue. He's never had surgery before and is freaking out, this is a man who is petrified of needles!
I've been reassuring him this will be quick and painless and I'll be with him - Big baby!!:lmao:

Tonight I'll be making one of the meals I had planned during the week when I was drugged up:rotfl: Chicken fingers with a basil/lime/garlic sauce, sides will be pasta and roasted asparagus.

Good news Kathy! I'm glad to hear that the worst is over :thumbsup2

I am with your Johnny. I am one of those people who would chew glass before they go to the Dr and the thought of surgery would have me in hysterics :scared1:

Keep reassuring him and buy yourself a big bottle of Rosa! If he is anything like me............you are going to need it ;)

Tonight I think we will just have hamburgers on the grill with fries, cucumbers and tomatoes. Buddy has some guys coming to the farm tonight to cut 10 rows so they can get a head start tomorrow as it is going to be wicked hot. He'll be late coming in. I bought sandwich meat for lunch tomorrow. I am not cooking chicken for 20 people to have chicken salad, although they really liked it.

If all goes well we'll be done cutting tomorrow.

Ditto on that one! He is a man after all! You'll probably have to baby him for weeks!!! Better stock up on the wine or get your Vicodin refilled!

My dentist was leaving for a week long vacation and gave me another prescription this morning, how coincidental is that?;)

I had to take off work this entire week because of my dental problems and will have to take off the day of his surgery next week. He just called and asked if I'd go with him for the pre-op!!!!! I don't think so.:rolleyes1

For the pre-op?! Tell him you don't need to hold his hand just to talk to the doctor! ;) That is unless dr's office is near a really good restaurant! ;)

The pre-op is in the hospital - x-ray, blood work, etc. It's because of the needle that will be used for the blood work.:rolleyes1 Monday is my day to grocery shop and start working from home, that way I can take off on Wednesday. I am not going with him just to follow him all over the hospital.:confused3

Morning all. DS was pickier than ever this morning--he licked the PB &J off the toast and refused to eat the bread. :confused3 But he also had grapes, OJ and Milk, so we're getting some nutrients in him. I did find out yesterday, though, that he really likes these fruit chips made by Flat Earth. The ones we have are Peach Mango. I'm gonna buy a bag of the veggie ones and see if he'll eat those.

I love those chips, too! I've never tried the vegetable ones, but I love the peach mango, and the apple cinnamon! Yummy!

Boy, did this day get away from me! My league bowling started this morning, and that throws my routine out. I enjoy it, though. I may not be the best bowler, but I'm no longer the worst in the league either!!!

Anywho, dinner tonight will be mac and cheese for the kids, and leftover salmon and chicken for DH and me. Not glamorous, but I've got to free up some space in the fridge!

Well, we didn't catch anything. No surprise, really...all the fishing reports say to go in the early morning or the evening, but we went in the middle of the day. I wasn't going to question DH, but after I saw how he lost his bait every second time he tried to secure it, I decided he is probably not the greatest fishing authority.

For dinner we had swordfish with the tomato/basil cream sauce, corn sauteed with cumin, red pepper, jalapeno, onion, and cumin, mashed potatoes with carmelized shallots, and roasted asparagus.

Kathy, I agree with everyone, buy some Rosa!!! :thumbsup2 I am sorry that Johnny has to go through with the surgery.

Thanks Lauren, I may be calling you if he drives me INSANE!

Well, in that case Lauren, expect a phone call. Kathy you know he's going to drive you insane. Husbands think that is their absolute right after any surgical procedure. When I took DH for a procedure, while I was waiting for the surgery to end in the waiting room, I was working on my laptop. One of the nurses walked by and said "Oh honey. You really ought to rest while you can. He's going to run you ragged when you take him home today." :rotfl: And she was right! :lmao:

Good luck to both of you.

Laura sorry you didn't catch anything. But I'm going to be completely honest with you. If I was faced with the reality of cleaning anything I caught myself, I'd much rather buy something from the seafood market. Wimp, I know. And I've lived on the coast my whole life. I won't head my own shrimp either.

Tonight's dinner will probably be TXTink's fried rice and some egg rolls.

Have a great Saturday everyone.

I have no idea wfd today, I am waiting for Laura and her DH to get here. I want to make something her DH feels like eating.

Here are photos from last night. First, the important part. Friday night cocktails! Last night I went with a sports theme. Here is DH's. he is a HUGE Patriots fan, so I called this a Blue Brady:

And here is mine. I called it Red Sox Nation. It's not Red enough, but I tried!

Based on the final scores, maybe I should make these every night!

Here is yesterday's farmer's market haul. I walked home from the train without my wheely cart, so I did not buy as much as usual. Look at the HUGE lobster mushroom, and I just love the bowls I bought from the potter:

OK, dinner. Here is sausage from the farmer's market (there's a local butcher there), mine is in the back (chicken) DH's is in the front (pork). Plus, corn on the cob, and heirloom tomatoes stuffed with a goat cheese "fondue." I got the tomato recipe out of yesterday's NY Times. Yum!

Finally, bread! No, I did not bake it, I bought it. But, I always forget to photo the bread, and I took this picture just for you ladies. Bread and butter:

Becky, dinner looks great....love the cocktails! Are you going to serve a special one today for Laura and DH? I really like the bowls too!

Thanks Lauren, I may be calling you if he drives me INSANE!

Anytime, my dear! Thats what friends are for!

You are oh so right. Tom gets a sniffle and he lays in bed all day. I have learned to ignore most of it...:thumbsup2

We are taking a ride to the Palisades Center Mall today in West Nyack, NY. Its a massive place with alot to do. We will probably eat in Dave and Busters.
