I was lazy last night so we just had finger foods.....boiled shrimp, chicken wings, calamari, all frozen foods.

Haven't decided what's for dinner tonight but it will be something with pork chops since that's what I took out. ;) I'm open to suggestions.

Sounds gross, but tonight I am making fish sticks, fries, and a green veggie of some kind. I never make frozen fish like that, always fresh, but I just got a hankering for it. I used to eat it a lot as a kid :)

WFD at your house?

I love fish sticks too! Haven't had them in a while...

Tonight we are having Beef Stew, the recipe from the Mickey cookbook, and noodles.

Have a great day!

Morning all! Well, DH left this morning for a business trip (yeah, right, he's going to Purdue to recruit--he'll spend the whole time eating, drinking, and carousing with college kids!;) ) Anyway, we'll be eating child friendly food here this week so I don't have to make 2 meals. Tonight will be some kind of pasta and meat sauce. Maybe some garlic toast

Last night I made a huge pot of homemade gumbo so there is plenty of that for dinner today ~ if they don't want that, there is popcorn chicken in the freezer and stuff for sandwiches.
I won't be here to cook because my aunt is having brain surgery today for an aneurysm ~ I'm not leaving the hospital until it's all done which will be late because they scheduled her for 3:00 p.m. :sad2:

Monday usual - Beans & rice with grilled green onion sausage.

stacy - I'll keep your aunt in my prayers.

I'll let you know when I try it because I am going to be looking for a support group ;).

This made me think of a funny story about the first time I ever fried chicken. Keep in mind I was only 19 and was a novice at best in the kitchen. Well for some reason I thought the oil had to be at a rolling boil before I put the chicken in. First piece went in and yep - truly "blackened" chicken.:rotfl2: Could have been worse, I could have set my apartment on fire!

Tonight is baked spaghetti and garden salad. We'll eat the leftovers tomorrow (hopefully so I can get to the gym).

Tonight's dinner is Cran-Orange Pork Medallions. We'll also have brown rice, and some kind of veggie. How I wish it was summer so I could pick some zucchini or summer squash. That's what I'm craving right now. Oh well, guess I'll have salad.

:grouphug: Sending you and your aunt hugs and good thoughts today.

Friday, we went to a new Mexican restaurant. I had shrimp enchiladas, they were very good.

Saturday, my parents took DS out to eat so DH and I had leftover Mexican from the night before.

Last night, I made garlic butter shrimp over rice with baby peas.

Tonight, is DS's favorite BBQ chicken, twice baked potatoes, baby carrots and broccoli.

Stacy, I hope your aunt is OK.

Tonight I am making a roasted chicken, sauteed spinach, amd mashed potatoes.

Does anyone have a good artichoke recipe? I love canned artichoke hearts and have been craving them lately. I was thinking about maybe a casserole type dish.

Tonight we are having Potato/Corn Chowder. It is a new recipe from a co-worker. I also am making some of Paula Dean's Asparagus/Phylo wraps - love them!

Thank you all for your prayers. We just got an update. She is still in surgery but is doing fine so far. They got the aneurysm taken care of but still have to do a couple more things. The hospital has computers set up for the patients families so I'm able to keep in touch with home for now which is nice. They said the surgery will be about 5 hours total so not much longer to go. Thanks again for the prayers. :)

More prayers for your aunt, Stacy. Hope all goes well this evening for you and your family. :grouphug:

I finally decided what we're having for dinner tonight. Pork chops, scalloped potatoes, and green beans. Everything's already in the oven and smelling yummy.

My grandpa passed away over the weekend so I haven't been cooking much...at least not until the funeral on Wednesday. Although with this snowstorm coming I'm not even sure how all of this is going to go.

Any suggestions for a potluck dish. We're hosting a potluck dinner after the funeral and I'm not quite sure what to make. Everyone always ends up bringing the same thing (deviled eggs, layered lettuce salad, etc.) and I'd like to make something that can feed lots of people but is yummy as well.

My husband has his monthly Geek meeting tonight so I am on my own. I get off work at 3:00 and there is an Applebee's nearby, so I am thinking about getting take-out from there.

WFD at your house?

Also, my thoughts and prayers to all my WFD friends who are going through such a tough time right now :sad1:

I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I will post some ideas after I get the little one off to school.
