We've had a crazy past couple of weeks where planning dinner hasnt been possible. Time to get back on track but I have no ideas. Going to page one to look for ideas!

Another easy night...since everyone was talking about Stove Top here, I have been craving the stuff! :) I am going to try the chicken bake that is listed on their website...it seems like a pot pie with stuffing on the top. Has anyone ever made this?

Have a great day everyone!

I have a couple of chicken breast I need to cook. Unfortunately I made the mistake of asking hubby how he would like them. FRIED. I rarely fry anything...too fatty and too messy. Sigh. Guess it is fried chicken, salad, mashed pots or rice, black beans, rolls. Blech.

Tonight will be something quick since DD has gymnastics. Probably chicken fillet sandwiches (the frozen Tyson variety!) and french fries.

I feel your pain. I did grocery shopping yesterday and asked DFi if he wanted anything special...he really didn't say anything. Well, while sitting down to dinner, he said "ya know, I have really have had a taste for chicken marsala". First off, why didn't he tell me before I went shopping so I could get the ingredients, second, for as long as I know him, he has never had chicken marsala!!! Men!!! :furious:

Tonight we are having smothered pork chops. Only, I'm not smothering them with gravy, but with stuffing and cooked apples. I hope it will be good! We'll also have salad and probably roasted potatoes.

comfort food is on the menu tonight. It is so cold over here, unusual for us. The wind chill is only 22 right now.....and it's expected to get colder as the day goes on. We'll be having meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and green beans with homemade chocolate pudding for dessert. I have the meatloaf all ready to go in the fridge, DD10 is going to put it in the oven when she gets in from school this afternoon.

:lmao::lmao::lmao: I feel YOUR pain!

Can I go way OT:offtopic: here? Last night I got the dress that my sons friend made for me. Now the colors are perfect. They match Sleeping Beauty's blue dress to a T. I sent her Kady's measurements long before she started the dress, and she said that she tailored the pattern to her. It was so big. She would have had to take the entire thing apart but it is way too late for that, so she took it in,but now I have spent an hour cleaning up seams and trying to iron it into place, but it is not happening. This is not the end of the world, but I paid a lot so that Kady would have a special dress for the Princess Tea, and there is this great big bunch smack dab in front where the peplum should be falling. It has been more years than Lindsay has been on this Earth since I have sewed, so I am not a picture of sanity right now.

Maybe Kathy's recipe will work in a case like this...a nice big glass of vino!!! :) Hang in there! ;)

Tonight DH had to go to a work dinner, so I made myself a miniature thin-crust pizza margharita. It was good, but there's a lot left and I am very full.

We are having leftover jambasta and bread sticks tonight. Easy day for me! :)

WFD at your house?

ETA: Is it bitter cold where you are this morning? It's 29 degrees here.

It's -5* here. Big fun.

I think I'll throw some chicken and creamy chicken soup in the crock pot before I leave today. Then I'll make some stove top and mashed potato when I get home. Either green beans or peas for a veggie. I have to work late tonight so that will be easy enough!

Hey gal :) Could you elaborate on your crockpot meal for me? It sounds yummy and I'm always looking for new ideas.

Sure- I use whatever I have for chicken (tonight boneless breasts) and throw it frozen into the crock pot. I'll put a little salt, pepper, onion powder in and then a can of healthy request creamy chicken soup and NOT add any other liquid. If you do this in the oven you can put your stuffing over it and bake it but I'll just make it on the side.

I want to let you all know that Kathy's (Tigerkat) Mom had a stroke yesterday. Please offer some prayers for good wishes for her and for her family if you can. I know that your kind thoughts and prayers were a blessing for me during my Mom's illness.

There is nothing that will save this dress! Not even a glass (or two) of wine....which I would have had if I was not armed with my iron. The last time I melted my DGD's Minnie Mouse dress :sad2:. She is going to wear it, I keep telling myself that it is "just a costume", but I am investing in a sewing machine when I get home.

We still have a lot of food here, I cooked extra 2 nights in a row because I thought my soon was coming so I am finishing them off tonight.

Tigerkat--sending lots of prayers your way!:grouphug:

I'm going to try Glynis's LIme Chicken Tacos. It's BRRRRR cold here too this am! AAAHH, just saw the weather report--a possible winter storm here this weekend! I left Wisconsin for a reason!;)

Tigerkat, sorry to hear about your mom. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

We're having French Dip Sandwiches tonight, although I should get out the crock pot and make some comfort food since the cold weather has arrived here. We've had a very mild winter so far, with temps in the 60's and low 70's, and then this morning it's 29...so it feels really cold!
