Do you guys like the cutie in my signature? We are American Idol junkies...just got tickets for when they come to NJ...:cool1:

Well, I really like that cutie Blake but will you kick me off the thread, if I pull for Jordin? :lmao: They are both so good at what they do, just both different, I see great careers ahead!

On the Lobster Fest that's hopefully will happen one day, count me in! But y'all know if we Nola girls are eating seafood we have to spread out newspaper first!! I mean come on, it's just like a giant crawfish so you've got to eat it on the newspaper with boiled potatoes, corn, onions, garlic & whatever else you have in the house!! Oh yeah and lots of Abita Beer, followed up by a Chocolate Doberge Cake & several bottles of Rosa Regale!!!!! NOW that would be LIVIN LARGE!!!!:goodvibes

I am a Pinot Grigio or Pinot Noir gal, so my DD said, "Hey Mom, you gotta try some of that Rosa Regale stuff at the Food and Wine festival." I told her that we would make a nice chocolate torte and try it out over dessert, I don't want to wait for October to join the Party!

I don't know what we are having fro dinner today. I have to work, run to the pick up fertilizer and herbicide, and then DH wants me to help plug trays tonight :scared1:. I think I'll tell him that Risa will be cooking if he needs me. That will shake him up a bit :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Tonight it's leftovers of Renaissance of Tuna Casserole with salad and bread. It was sooooooooooo good and a surprisingly light dish.

WFD at your house?

Renaissance of Tuna Casserole

Salt
1 pound fettuccine
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, 3 turns of the pan
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 small onion, chopped
2 (6-ounce) cans Italian tuna in water or oil, drained
1/2 cup tender sun-dried tomatoes, thinly sliced, available in small pouches in produce department
1/2 cup dry white wine, a couple of turns of the pan
1/2 cup heavy cream, a couple of turns of the pan
Black pepper
1/2 cup frozen peas, a couple of handfuls
Couple handfuls grated Parmigiano-Reggiano
1 cup fresh basil, about 20 leaves, shredded

Place pasta water on to boil. Salt water then add pasta and cook to al dente.

While pasta cooks, heat a deep skillet over medium heat with extra-virgin olive oil. Saute garlic and onions until tender, 4 to 5 minutes. Add tuna and sun-dried tomatoes and stir to heat through, another 1 to 2 minutes. Add wine and cook it down a minute then add cream and season sauce with salt and pepper. Toss hot pasta and peas with sauce and cheese. Serve on dinner plates and top with shredded basil.

Can you pass through the Nutmeg State? I would love to join you!

Sure, the more the merrier!!!

I am glad you liked them!

Okay, I was going to post a picture of Caili in her ballet outfit, but I can't figure out how. Sopranos is in a minute, so it will have to wait.

I can't wait to see Caili and her couture costume!!! :) I cannot believe Sopranos this season...Christopher, gone??!!!! I am going to miss it...:sad1:

24 is ending tonight. What am I going to do without Jack and Tony??? ;)

Maybe if you all zig before you zag I can come to. We have wonderful food here to.

We could have our own Food Network show!!!

Well, I really like that cutie Blake but will you kick me off the thread, if I pull for Jordin? :lmao: They are both so good at what they do, just both different, I see great careers ahead!

Jordin is great too! I have not idea who will win...it will be very close. I just like the beat box thing that Blake does and some of the songs he picked are may fave...Love Song, You Give Love a Bad Name...well, I am a Jersey girl ya know...gotta love Bon Jovi!!!

My dear, that is my usual driving pattern :lmao::lmao:

Me too! Can't you tell I get easily side tracked???!!!

Dinner is easy again for me...we are having hamburgers and hotdogs again!!! I asked DF what he wanted and that is what he said. We will have a nice tossed salad on the side. I guess we are so used to eating this stuff w/o bread now that we don't even miss it. I guess that's a good thing...:)

Have a great day all!

Oh yeah, newspaper across a picnic table, overlooking the ocean, with the basket of steamed in seawater seafood dumped across it, seaweed it cooks in and all.
steamahs, lobstah, corn on the cob, and potatoes.....but gasp....NO onions, garlic or anything else.....no no no........oh and the beer.....either the local brew or a good ole bud......anything else and you would be shunned by the locals:rolleyes1 .....Oh and hell, we aren't picky about the dessert as long as it is there, lol!

HMMM all this lobster talk, has me craving a lobster roll now.....Must try to get one for lunch today.................toasted roll, clear claw meat and a drizzle of buttah..mmmmmm!!

oh this isn't wfl it is wfd soooo on to that: Tonight we will have fresh green beans cooked in a Tomato sauce and chicken broiled with italian dressing marinade, and either rice or cous cous for the starch. No south beach here, lol! Lauren- I will eat your carbs for ya!

Morning all! I'm back after my brief hiatus in the workforce.;) Not sure what's left to cook for dinner tonight--probably pasta of some sort!

Good morning everyone!

WOW I see our trip to Maine has taken on a life of it's own! Are you guys sure you want Lauren & I zig-zagging around, we are easily confused going in a straight line!:rotfl2: I think we're better suited for Comedy Central rather than Food Network!:rotfl:

As for American Idol at this stage their both winners and will be successful. This year's group didn't get me excited, but Blake is a cutiepie!

Beans & rice Monday with a twist - Maple glazed ham steaks on the side!

Have a great day!!

I don't know what we are having fro dinner today. I have to work, run to the pick up fertilizer and herbicide, and then DH wants me to help plug trays tonight :scared1:. I think I'll tell him that Risa will be cooking if he needs me. That will shake him up a bit :lmao::lmao::lmao:[/QUOTE]

Hey, wait a minute!! Thats not nice!

Well, last night DH came home with a giftcard to Saltgrass Steakhouse (won at his golf tournament) so we ditched the planned meal and headed out for steak instead! It was delicious!

Tonight we're going to have leftover baked ziti - I forgot I have a meeting at work tonight at 630 so I won't be home until 9pm or later anyways.

Since I have a "redo" I'm going to actually thaw the pork loin and make that hoisin honey recipe using that like I was supposed to do! I think I'll boil the chicken that I thawed and make chicken salad with it or something before it goes bad.

Lauren ~ Take a deep breath and have a glass of Rosa. Ooops, forget I said that it's way too early for that. ;) Still take the deep breath though.

liamandcaili ~ Caili is a little cutie. :cutie: She really does look like a little princess princess:

WFD? Easy dinner tonight, Chinese BBQ Pork, rice and broccoli.

Thanks! I changed the link in my original post, so now it's just the photo and not the whole photo page. I think I've got the photo thing down...now if I only knew how to put it into the page rather than it coming up as a link...:scratchin

Morning Y'all,

Well my DH is being a typical tough guy & went to work today! He still looks like heck & needs his food cut up in small bites! I didn't have any leftovers to send for his lunch, so I just skype him to see if he needed me to go get him some lunch. He said he's going to have a whopper jr & ask one of the guys to cut it up for him! Poor guy, now I really feel bad for him!:sad1:

Wendie, When in Maine, you eat like the Mainahs do!!! Sounds great! I'm always up for trying new food & local brews! We'll bring some of our local Abita & share! But if I'm riding with Kathy & Lauren, who knows if we'll even get there?!! And man, I'm really jealous of that lunch!

Lauren, Take a breath & don't freak out! Sounds like you've got it all under control! And I agree, Blake rocked Bad Name!!!!

Nancy, I really don't care for sweet wines except with desserts. I'm really a Cab or Shiraz girl myself. But, I promise you have it with a Chocolate Torte & you'll be in love with Rosa too.

liamandcali, She is GORGEOUS!!!!

WFD is going to be a Jambalaya made with another batch of crawfish & sausage my brother sent over for my beat up DH. DH requested the Jambalaya with the sausage cut up in itty bitty pieces!!

Y'all have a good day!

I wanna come too! Throw in some extra steamers....I'll drive! mmmmmmm(wiping away drooly bits now)
Well, I don't know if this is going to work...I've never posted a picture before. Hopefully, this is right. If it is, this is my little girl in her ballet costume. I didn't sew the whole thing, just the lining.
She's beautiful! I love the eyes!

Rick flew back to Detroit this AM but will be back on Wed this week:woohoo: and Friday I have a CASE of Rosa Regale being delivered.

Not sure about dinner yet.

Nancy - I think I'm going to try your Prosciutto Pork Roast next weekend. What did you serve with it? I'm stumped.:confused3
