I'm home sick and luckily tonight is "crock pot" night so I put a piece of pork in the crock pot and we are having pulled pork, mashed potatoes and green beans tonight.
It's so good to be home after Thanksgiving. We had a great time at my parents house and had so much FOOD!!!! We also did a great Pie Night, where we pigged out on pecan pie, raspberry pie, sour cream raisin pie, apple/pear pie, lemon meringue, coconut cream, pumpkin chiffon, regular pumpkin and banana cream. Talk about stuffed!!!!
Anyway, it's back to reality. Tonight we're having "pork chops and applesauce". I'll also steam some broccoli. We're spending the day "Christmasing" the house, so something easy will be good.
Lindsay, my family hates little pieces of tomato, so I either puree the crushed tomatoes or use sauce. I'm going to try it as soon as it cools off down here!
*yawn and stretch* Morning everyone. I have a sleep hangover this morning.
Tonight we are having leftover soup. My BIL was in town and my hubby invited him to eat with us. He loved the soup, too. Thankfully we still had enough for tonight
I think tonight is going to be some pasta and Italian sausage. some sort of green veggie. I've been in a cooking funk since Thanksgiving. Guess I overdid it then, so I just not in the mood to cook yet!
We're going out to eat. It's my bday. I really wanted fondue but can't justify $100 for a meal, so just Applebees I guess since I have a $10 off coupon. Sometimes it stinks to be so cheap (me, not hubby--he wouldn't care).
My daughter had surgery yesterday so today she requested Cheeseburger Soup, so off to the grocery I go to get a few ingredients. Have a wonderful day everyone.
Good morning everyone! Tonight we are having Ham and Swiss Casserole. It's cold and snowy here and a warm casserole will hit the spot. We'll have a nice green salad to go along with it (hopefully I'll be able to find some good tomatoes!).
Cookies for dessert. I've been making cookie dough and freezing the balls. That way I can pull out as many as I want to make at a time. It works well for me. If I do it early enough in the season, I don't run out of time closer to Christmas!
Thank goodness for the crockpot. We're having BBQ pork chops and some kind of veggies for sides, & biscuits. I felt better 1 day after finishing the antibx.. Now, I think I have the flu. Not fun.
I just made the fish chowder from this thread (page 26 I think-I used frozen whiting filets). OMG is it great. That's what my kids will have when they get home from school. They come home ravenous. I will make a roast chicken for dinner when DH gets home-soup is not dinner for him.
I'm another one who hasn't wanted to cook since Thanksgiving. Lastnight I made grilled ham steak, tater tots and corn. Tonight I'm planning on Chicken Picatta, but it will depend on how much I have to help DS with his homework and what time it is when he finishes it.
