Well, the roast chicken will have to wait for tomorrow--tonight I just cooked up a frozen pizza--we had a photo session wth the kids today and it exhausted me!

Tonight we are having leftover spaghetti and meatball stoup. It was yummy :)

WFD at your house?

Good Morning Lindsay! I think I'll make Ritzy Chicken....have to leave the parmesan word out because my dh doesn't think he likes it.... but I put it in tons of stuff. Anyway- do you use the cheese in a can or the shredded parm you can buy?

I use grated Parm by Kraft in the plastic container. You know, like pizza cheese? I don't know if you could use shredded or not.

This will be my last night cooking before we leave!!!! We're having Paula Deen's fried pork chops, mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans.

Lindsay, I'm going to check out your trip report when I get to work!

Good Morning All!

I am going to do sweet and sour chicken, green beans (or salad) and rice. This chicken is like a recipe on this thread with russian or catalina dressing, apricot preserves and onion soup mix...I usually do it in the oven but want to try it in the crockpot.

I am off to read Lindsay's trip report!! :)

Have a great day all!

I'll answer. I've done it both ways, and both ways are good. For those that think they don't like Parm, the Kraft is the best way to go. The shredded is wonderful, too, though! My suggestion, start with the Kraft, get your family used to the taste, and then move to the shredded!

We did the apricot/plum chicken last night and it was wonderful! Unfortunately, I didn't have any sage, so I substituted poultry seasoning. I think it would have been better with the fresh sage leaves. I'm going to try it again soon with sage. I'll have some left over from Thanksgiving, so I'm going to try it.

Tonight is Cheesy Tuna Dinner. My kids love it, and it's easy! I'm trying to organize myself to pack for the trip to my parents for Thanksgiving. DH told me that instead of leaving on Wednesday, we'll be leaving Monday. So, I'm kind of in a tizzy to get laundry done, etc. An easy dinner just fits the bill!

DH picked up some store bought M&M cookies last night (yuck), so that's what the kids will have for dessert.

WFD? Good question. The only protein I have in the house is a big can of chicken (hurricane supply), eggs, and some lunch meat. I really don' t feel like going to the store today so I'll have to figure out something. DH has to have his meat and he doesn't think a sandwich is a good enough dinner for him. Well, he might just have to suck it up tonight.

What can you do with canned chicken, besides chicken salad sandwiches?

Hi Sandy,

I've made a chicken pot pie with canned chicken (when I was in a pinch). It worked out fine! I used a can of mixed veggies or frozen mixed veggies, a can of cream of something soup, and bisquick. HTH!

I *think* we're having a big pot of chili for dinner tonight. (With all the fun stuff to go in it!) I need to put it on soon!

Glynis - do you mind sharing the Cheesy Tuna Dinner recipe??

TIA!!

The recipe is found on page 66 of this thread. Sorry I don't have the recipe in front of me right now.

Last night I actually did not eat leftovers. Instead, I had cornflake crusted haddock with lemon butter, crispy green beans, and roasted fingerling potatoes.

Tonight I made a pizza with tomato-garlic sauce, fresh mozzarella, and a huge handful of arugula (added once the pizza was out of the oven). Now my whole house smells like pizza! I think my oven insulation might be giving out...

Well, I finally roasted the chicken tonight. And it turned out great, if I do say so myself! ;) I used the Roast Turkey with Herbs de Provence recipe in the Williams Sonoma Thanksgiving booklet, but sized it down for the chicken. Even DH loved it--can't say the same for DD, but she doesn't eat anything!

Tonight we are having hamburger steaks with sauteed peppers and onions, with French fries.

WFD at your house?

Not really sure tonight. I don't think we're going out b/c we've got a real early morning tomorrow. And no pizza in the freezer, so maybe some quick pasta

We'll be getting take-out something or other as we're leaving in the morning!!!!! Gardengrocer called to confirm my order will be at BWI when we arrive tomorrow, hard to believe, after all these months of planning it's finally time to go. :cool1:

I wish you all and your families a very Happy Thanksgiving and be safe if you're traveling!! :wave2:
