*The Official VILLAS AT DISNEY'S GRAND FLORIDIAN RESORT & SPA Group* - **THE PERCH BAR NOW OPEN!!**

Do the Big Pine Key studio villas still have the Cuisinart flat pod coffee makers (same as value and moderate resort rooms) or have they switched them back out for Keurigs yet?

Looking for experiences within the last month or so. Videos older than that show the Cuisinarts.

Thanks!

Yes! I took a picture for you too, but forgot to post it! This is from 11/28. Still there, unfortunately.

You shouldn’t have to. The Keurig’s are in all DVC rooms, except BPK. It makes no sense.

I don't understand why they took the Keurigs out. But they did. I am just offering a solution. There are a lot of things we do in life that we shouldn't have to do, but you can either curse the darkness or turn on a light.

It’s just so weird to have the same coffee maker in the “flagship resort” DVC as in the values and moderates. I’d love to know what their thinking was behind the move.

I don’t have a stay there coming up, I just needed the info for my coffee thread that’s now pinned over on the resorts board. As it’s one of the few big anomalies in the coffee maker situation, I wanted to confirm it was still the situation.

Thanks for the update, folks.

Happy to help. I don’t understand it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The only thing I can think of is these Cuisinart machines draw less power and they were having issues with people running the keurig, microwave, and mini fridge at the same time. The resort studios were originally designed with beverage coolers and no microwave, so less power draw. Adding a keurig, true fridge, and a microwave may overload the circuit. Just a guess.

I guess rewiring the circuit to a 20A is just a bridge too far for a flagship resort in the DVC portfolio. Not to mention some of the largest and most expensive studios on property.

That might be the technical reason, but I think another reason could be to emphasize that those are RESORT studios, i.e. GF hotel rooms that can be booked with DVC points. They’re not Deluxe studios.

I believe this is still the most plausible explanation

This has always puzzled me. Rewiring the old building shouldn’t have been that expensive during the refurbishment.

They have a different bed and bathroom configuration, too, so keeping them in separate categories makes sense. But I don’t think they intentionally withheld features.
