Resorttv1 did a live walkthrough of the GF lobby if anyone wants to see what it's like at the moment. Go to the 47 minute mark of this video. There is 20 or 30 minutes of good footage:

ETA: from the stream, it seems like they are not doing construction during the day, only at night after guests are gone from the lobby.

Grand Floridian Lobby Refurbishment: Work Continues on Garden Tea Room and Former Front Desk Area

When visiting Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort today, we saw that Disney has continued to make progress on the lobby renovation.

From what we could tell, the work is currently focused on the Garden View Tea Room and the former front desk space.

Here is a closer look at the Tea Room area.

Additionally, with the lobby’s iconic bird cage gone, there is now a gap in that area.

Thanks to the lobby’s second-floor balcony, we could see another angle of the construction.

Here is one last look.

Seems like they are prioritizing the front desk area and garden view tearoom so that those spaces can be completed and utilized while the central part of the lobby gets refurbed.

My predictions on workflow:
-Front desk and tearoom area completed
-Stairways and 'outer wings' on main floor next
-Central area of lobby last

Wanted to share a pic I just saw on FB. It appears that the villas lobby now has a water machine, I’m assuming where the Nespresso machine used to be. Better than nothing, I guess! lol

Edit: sorry, just noticed you said resort villas, not the original building…

Honestly, there’s less of a need for room request at BPK than the original building.

What view category do you have?

Our go to is to simply request a high floor and let the chips fall where they may.

If you do want to get specific, check out touring plans’ VGF map to show you exactly what the view looks like from each room/category.

It will be interesting to see how many people were not resort guests using the pool. It was definitely one of the more busy pools that I have seen at WDW.

Hopefully, someone is able to confirm soon! Someone commented on the post that they were wristbanding at boardwalk too. Would love it if they started doing this at every pool!

That is my picture, and I can confirm that this water machine is available 24/7 The water is nice and cold with plenty of cups! I wish all resorts would provide this perk, especially in the warmer months
