I'm doing online check in & was wondering if anyone has any advice on which building/room requests that I should make. I know none are guaranteed but this is our 1st time staying at the Grand Floridian & I'd love to know which ones everyone prefers. Thanks in advance. :)

This is the villa thread. Are you staying in a GF DVC accommodation (resort studio, deluxe studio, one/two bedroom villa?) or in a cash room?

We can help once we know that information. The Grand is beautiful regardless of where you stay! :cloud9:

GM Everyone, I have a quick question and or favor.

I spent 3 1/2 hours this morning booking reservations for my 60th Birthday and my Grand-daughters 1st birthday and very little coming together due to us being 10 people.

The only thing I wanted to do on my actually birthday (6/26) was sit at the pool with my family all day and go to dinner. Unfortunately my daughter has albinism and we need a cabana and you guessed it June 26th is totally booked. So, if anyone here has that day booked and think they might not be using it I would really appreciate a heads up so I can call and grab it if your going to cancel. Thanks so so much for listening and wish me luck!

We just returned from our first stay at The Grand. To be honest, I never wanted to stay there. The Wilderness Lodge is my vibe and I thought The Grand Floridan would be too stuffy. I added a few nights at the front end of our April CCV trip because last trip my husband mentioned he loves the GF's grounds and wanted to walk around at night. I'm so glad we did because we absolutely loved it! Wilderness has our heart but The Grand was lovely from the grounds to the staff and dining. We now want to make it one of our home resorts. :)

Hello everyone. Staying in a resort studio room next February. We have stayed at the GF for as short stay years ago. My grown daughter doesn't even remember it. TBH I didn't think I'd ever stay at the GF again because I love the Boardwalk, Poly and Wilderness Lodge so much. My daughter really wanted to stay somewhere different this time though so we are staying here. Been watching a ton of youtube videos to get myself excited and educated. Looking forward to learning from you all. I do have a question. It is very possible I am totally misremembering. Back in 2008 we did the photo shoot at the GF. I remember asking the photographer if there was anything Mary Poppins we could get our picture taken with. She took our pictures in front of a fountain that I thought was near the front entrance. Sadly I can't find the picture. Does a fountain out there sound familiar to anyone? Any chance it is the penguin fountain and maybe it was moved?

This one?? If so, it’s in the OG villas building

I know it wasn't inside. If you are outside looking at the main entrance it would have been to the left. I know it's not there anymore though. I wasn't sure if maybe it was this one and it was moved inside at some point. I can't fully remember what it looked like but I know it was Mary Poppins themed.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Traffic Circle Taking Shape

Curbs within the circle have been paved but there is still dirt surrounding it. A group of concrete supports were staged along the road during our drive-by.

In our photo above, dark dirt is visible along the curb, showing that the circle is a few feet above the ground.

This is one of three new traffic circles that will be constructed along Floridian Way. This one will serve an updated entrance to the Grand Floridian.

What time does Gasparilla Grill stop serving breakfast? And bonus if you know if it is the same time as Captain Cooks. Thank you!

Gasparilla opens 6am to 7am for "snacks" and officially serves breakfast from 7am to 11am.

Capt. Cook's serves breakfast from 7am to 11am.

The specific times for each meal should be posted in My Disney Experience when pulling up the individual restaurants.

Thanks! I just found it. I was looking at the menu and it just listed open-close. Appreciate the help!

We managed to book a VGF deluxe studio resort view in Oct. Asking the experts, are there any room requests I should make with MS? We will be traveling with a toddler as well.
