The Official VILLAS at DISNEYLAND HOTEL (Discovery Tower) Owners and Fans Info Thread

Currently sitting on my balcony at Beach Club on the woods side. Light rain..was really pouring earlier. We got off the Fantasy this morning after a 3 night Merrytime. Awesome ship.. now my favorite. (As our 5th ship tried…now Gold!! 🎉). Epcot fireworks finished up. Of course nothing like VDH & do miss our west coast home. Dinner was Yachtsman Steakhouse for first time..(in rain could stay under covering from room to dinner)…excellent spot to eat!

I’m so enjoying the love for the Garden rooms. I now have five solo Garden studio stays under my belt and honestly can’t imagine staying anywhere else! I’ve stayed in the 1BD with my family, but there is honestly something so special about that balcony overlooking the pool, with the twinkling lights…

I met the possum while petting a DL cat on the path from GCV back to VDH last trip (two weeks ago) while the fireworks were on in the background. It was a true Disney moment 😊! Ugh…I wish I was back there now. I have two GCV trips booked over the next year, and I do love GCV, but there is just something special to me about VDH and walking behind the building up the stairs to the Garden rooms.

*This feeling always miraculously fades when I get my final folio with the TOT bill*

True it feels like a large tip for staying there, I’d rather be giving housekeeping or my Palm Breeze staff. Anyhoo, yes!!! The Gardens are the sweet spot! Glad to hear opossum still wandering the resorts!

Turns out maybe there is something wrong with our room thermostat or something. Got back to our room for the night and it’s 76 in here and it was set to 70. I will let them now so it can be fixed.

Parks were not too bad this weekend, much lower crowds than I had anticipated.

The darn rooms turn it off when unoccupied. Modern dumb energy saving idea. Like when go into the bathroom the red light motion ceiling sensor notices you & turns on the fan. It’s not the light switch. Once return, you will notice the temp returns in a few minutes. Has some motion sensor & be sure any patio door is closed. If open, AC shuts off. If temp stay higher, not resetting, it’s a maintenance repair call issue. (Had one). They come & get up in the entry ceiling & fix it.

Interesting. This stay we don’t have a balcony. I did know about the balcony thing but didn’t know about when it’s unoccupied.

Yeah I had came to terms with it and bought.
Which is good…. because none of the ornaments are for the DVC property…. My wife still hates that the DVC tower is different than the other towers.

I really like the Sorcerer Mickey hat… it’s a visual reminder that I am off to the parks or a welcome greeting when I get back on property.

Agree the tower contrast to the other three towers is a negative to me too. Plus they gave it a somewhat land name. “Discovery” (Paris Disneyland word used associated with their Tomorrow land. Our tower represents the future imaginative & exploration.

Should have used the color palate closer to other towers in the blues section of the crayola box. Nope, went for: “look at me, look at me”. A stepsister to our beloved triplets.
