The Official VILLAS at DISNEYLAND HOTEL (Discovery Tower) Owners and Fans Info Thread

Not sure if it’s been pointed out yet but it appears that odd floors are sleeping beauty themed, and even are princess and the frog for the studios.
Piggybacking onto this, is it safe to say that all 1 bedrooms are Princess and the Frog themed? I thought I read that some were Fantasia themed, but maybe I am mistaken.

I've been wondering the same thing because there is still official references to the Fantasia themed 1 bedroom out there. But no one has come across one yet...🤷‍♀️. If it existed, it would have to be a dedicated 1 bedroom, right? Because there are no Fantasia studios...

How many dedicated 1 BRs are there? I think you can only get the Fantasia theme in a dedicated 2 BR unit but if there are some dedicated 1BRs then maybe there.

The dedicated one bedroom on floor 2 is Tiana and an ADA wheelchair accessible room (0237). So far other one bedrooms and the attached studio (lockoff) themed same (even and odd floors). Two bedrooms have been Fantasia (**00 and **01 rooms). Odd floor deluxe studios Sleeping Beauty. Evens Tiana. Duo studios Jungle Book. During opening tour, the DVC guide said each preferred Duo had a balcony. That isn’t true. (9 do, 8 don’t).

I did a quick search and didn’t see anything, so I’m sorry if this has been covered. Do any of the preferred studios have balconies? Any exceptional views? We have a stay in late January so I’m trying to narrow down a room request.

No deluxe studios with a balcony. Only the garden units for that. Preferred are main side overlooking the resort/monorail pool area (even numbered room) and the back side overlooking the DVC pool area. (Odd numbered rooms). This link will show some views.

I have two trips coming up with VDH as part of them. The hotel tax is a big factor why we are not staying all nights there. Is anyone else doing split stays for this reason?

Not us, it is what it is. If we weren't staying there we'd be staying in a 1 or 2 BR suite in the DLH and still paying the tax, or at the GC (cash not points) and still paying the tax, or staying offsite and still paying the tax. Just got back from VDH 2 weeks ago from a week in a 1BR it was amazing. Love the new tower. We'll be there again for another week in a 2 BR in early Jan and another week at Spring Break.

No. Unless you are staying at VGC on points as part of the split you are still paying the tax regardless of where you are staying.

Well and the tax (albeit it much smaller) exists as part of VGC dues so if you are a VGC owner… paying tax too. Wish they would have negotiated lower tax for VDH.
Kinda hard to negotiate anything when Disney was the one who told Anaheim to go pound sand, and was still fighting the city over the minimum wage requirement in the state Supreme Court until just last week.

This probably has been asked before but is there a place at VDH where you get the DVC stay gift? I am doing a split stay at VDH and VGC, I know where the VGC center

I know at one time there were cash discounts on DVC rooms for members. Is that still true and do they offer them at the DL resorts?
