The Official VILLAS at DISNEYLAND HOTEL (Discovery Tower) Owners and Fans Info Thread

How did you luck out with VGC direct? And how many??

I did watch videos of 1 bedroom and it looks nice. We had the bigger kitchen at BRV last month and we honestly didn't put anything in the kitchen cabinets. Just left stuff on the counters. We're weird though. 😆

Totally jealous of your 1000 points! We just have 160 VGC and 200 BRV.
We started in 1996 with 250 boardwalk points. Started adding on 3 years ago. We are now retired with grandkids. There was about 12 years or so we could not travel so I guess we are making up for lost time!! 😃

I talked to our guide about 3 years ago about vgc. He called last week saying they had 200 points available. Rest is history.

The walk to the parks is not too bad. I put it on par with Boardwalk to Epcot. However you have to go through Downtown Disney, which can be crowded. it will be nice when the monorail is open, but it is down for our visit. Fortunately they have the gate by the Hat open for DLH guests, so the line to get past security is not all that bad. The other security gates get really backup.
When we were there it seemed that by the hat was a free for all and not just for DLH guests. Maybe I was in the wrong spot?

Monorail was also down when we were there :(

We never take the monorail to the park, only the return trip. Getting dropped into Tomorrowland doesn’t hit the same as walking down main street…..
Ah yes, the classic debate our family always has. We've compromised over the years. On Day 1 we walk down Mainstreet. As for days 2+ its meh. Whatever works for our schedule at the time and if wanting some walking relief. One example, we love Mickey's Run-Away Railroad. We'll be watching the ride times for it if back in the room for a break. Or if its meet and greet time with Vadar. Not sure it saves any time but the Monorail makes for a fun ride.

And likewise, if we're ready to head out and by the Monorail stop we'll take it.

Our typical stay is one week. Sometimes we do a long weekend like for runDisney or OBB. Once we stayed at VGC for 2 weeks to use up our banked points in 2021… that was actually amazing.
Thats a dream. 2 weeks to take in the sights and sounds and feeling of Disney without feeling rushed.

Not wrong. Found out this morning that only hotel guests can use this for early entry. We had to show our hotel key. Other people were lining up.
Monorail is down until next week. Bummer. We are just going to miss it.

I failed to checkout everything in the kitchen when we were there. Going again next week. Does anyone know if the 1 beds have a cooking (cookie) sheet in them. Small is fine.

Similar for us. We've done 11 nights our last two WDW stays and 8 nights our last several DLR visits.
I’m trying to imagine the points for 8 nights in a 1bd at VGC or VDH…. because I definitely could not be in a studio for that long…:
