The Official VILLAS at DISNEYLAND HOTEL (Discovery Tower) Owners and Fans Info Thread

Now that you mention it, I did not.

I was originally charged $250 + expected TOT, which has since been reversed. We did not charge anything to our room during our stay. After the 3rd night I was charged for the first 3 nights of TOT, but not the 4th night. We'll see what happens, I guess.
I was charged $655.88 and $269 before I checked in, both of which were reversed and I was in the end charged $538.78 so I would like to see the invoice and I think it's reasonable to get one as I am sure you'd agree. It could very well be totally correct, but it seems odd it wasn't emailed. I am not a structural or geotechnical engineer but the settling is a little too loud.

I was there probably similar dates as you.... <snip>

Did you receive an invoice? I did not; no paper, no email. I want to ensure my bar tab and TO Tax was correct. I emailed DVC who just gave me a generic Disneyland phone number, whom couldn't help either. Pretty annoying...

I'm glad you both mentioned that. I realized I had the same issue-- I saw a charge on my credit card statement the last time I stayed at VDH (during D23), but never got a invoice/receipt/breakdown either. Is this not a thing?

Yeah, you'd think they'd want to have the email be a little more descriptive. The subject line was an smtp address, and the body just read "Requested report enclosed. Please see attachment." The attachment had "dv_folio" in the filename, which led me to wonder if it stood for "Disneyland Villas Folio". But, man, I was scared to open it. LOL

Got a VDH stay coming up next year and It's been quite a while since I stayed at a Disneyland resort. Do VDH (and the other properties) use the same horrible toilet paper that the WDW resorts use?

Two WDW trips this year and I'm amazed that they use such junk even in the DVC resorts!

Well….

This is my wife’s department. I’m not 100% sure but she always brings her own TP.

Just asked her your question. She said ehh, it’s not great.

Good luck.

Update: Luis came by room #249 this morning having the issues I submitted. He tested sink and warm somewhere is mixing into the cold tap in room. He found the toilet line had some warmth. Shower same. He even turned off the hot line at sink & cold warmed still. The crew coming back after we checkout to do work. As far as the bathroom fan system. There is no motion sensor for it, just the lights. It runs continuously. Sounds like they might have a way to turn them down on sound. No guarantee on that fix. Was great getting his visit.
They haven't fixed the fan in #249 yet. Ran all night and was very loud. Got very little sleep Monday night. Was quite annoyed with how low quality the rooms seem. First time we stayed in VDH, the room was dirty, tables had sticky stuff on them at check in and had no hot water for our 2 nights. Buttons falling off the sofa cushions. As I'm local to SoCal and just try to pick up rooms that open up when I find them to take advantage of my Magic Key, I'm sticking to GCV only now. I'm 0 for 2 for magical room experiences at VDH.

Unfortunately those garden units are not having great luck. In October, our daughter’s garden studio lost hot water two days into stay. Received a credit. Was glad we had our two bedroom where she could use the bath/shower. Still like them though for location and the balcony/patios.

The Patio for our room was awesome! I think it was bigger than my room. We had no hot water in our first stay in a standard duo studio room. So, think the hot water issue isn't just the in the garden units. I begged them to have maintenance to a once over before making my room available for me for my December reservation, on the assumption my GCV waitlist won't come through.

We got the news on dues, does anyone know when or how we will find out if TOT is increasing? I’m pretty sure 2025 TOT has been released.. but I’m not sure how it works if they release news every year or ?

Yes, the TOT chart for 2025 had been out quite a while. They should be dropping the point charts for 2026 soon and probably the 2026 TOT at the same time.
$2.78/point in 2024
$2.87/point in 2025

I read a comment somewhere that VDH charges for laundry detergent. Can anyone verify if this is true or not?

Maybe this is just in the laundry room for the studios?

This is true for those using the laundry room; there's a vending machine that charges for detergent, yes.

Floor plans with washer/dryer in-room (1BD/2BD/Grand Villas) have a small travel-sized bottle of laundry detergent included for free. Housekeeping places it on top of the washer so you can't miss it.
