I was just really annoyed that there was not a peep about Mario's lack of heel leads in the Waltz. Because they have commented on that for all the other guys, and he didn't do it either.

Seriously impressed with Emmitt. Man can move. But yeah, Cheryl's lifestyle was a bit of a surprise! Nice ballroom. Quite different from her peers, all the struggling young Russian pros are just getting by.

What is a heel lead and what is it called when it is not a heal lead?

(Are we talking about toe-heel, toe-heel vs. heel-toe, heel-toe?)

Count me, sadly, in the group of people who are over Mario. I really want to still like him, because he CAN move, but I am so tired of hearing, week after week, in his interview about how hard this is and how he thinks they *might* be able to pull it off. No need to brag that you can dance, but darn, man, talk about something else! I feel like he is trying to undersell himself each week just so he can come out and Wow us. Karina annoys the crap out of me!

Did anyone else notice that Louie interjected during the interview with Samantha that, in three seasons, it was *his* first 10s?? I think someone has forgotten that this isn't about him, but the *star*! He gives me the creeps.

I really enjoyed that Joey got into the theme of Halloween and gave us two good dances.

I am liking Emmitt more and more each week! I split my votes between Joey & Emmitt this time.

I thought I was the only one. I think he's done Monique a disservice. He pushes her too hard and instead of teaching her the dances, he tries to get her to do things that are just "out there" that wind up hurting her scores in the end.

And I LOVE Emmitt! But I must admit that I still enjoy Mario. And Joey.

And what is totally not fair is that she is not the one choreographing (sp) the routine, he is, but Monique is the one who pays the price.

I am sad to say that I think Monique will be the next to go unless Joey doesn't have the fan base. It is possibel because she has the HSM fans and Joey doesn't have a current show.

I think, barring any major gaffe, it should be Mario and Emmitt in the finals. But man, they are all GOOD!

Nope, not at all. I think Monique has triumphed having Louie as her partner! Remember, they had 'personality' issues from week one, according to the judges. She's done great but, I think she's next gone.

In the smooth ballroom dances, the heel is supposed to strike the floor first on the stride. Then it rolls onto the ball of the foot as the weight moves forward. Yeah, try that in high heels! In waltz, the heel lead should happen on the 1 and 4 counts, the rising counts are done on the balls of the feet. If you watch Mario dance, you can see that he steps out with the middle of his foot.

Have to disagree with you guys about Louis. He's a ballroom god. He's done it all, and has the trophies to prove it. I think he's cute, and he deserves to be a little arrogant. I'm pretty sure he knows more than the judges, who were chosen more as personalities than experts.

While Louie is an excellent dancer, I think the point of the show is to showcase your 'star' partner. I don't think Louie has done as good of a job as he could. Look at Cheryl - I don't ever get the feeling that she is dancing way above her partner. Same for Kym, Jerry Springer's partner, or Sara's partner, Tony.

He can be arrogant in the ballroom world - I am sure he's earned the right. He hasn't earned the right to be arrogant in the tv world. We want our favorites to look good.
Thanks for the explanation on the heel lead. I am guessing the pattern of heel-toe on 1 & 4 counts is what gives the rise and fall to their dance?

I finally got DH to watch one episode just so he could see Emmitt. .. I enjoy watching Emmitt and Mario the most, they both look the most relaxed and seem to enjoy it so much. .

just curious though, am I the ONLY one who caught what appeared to be a hand inappropriately placed on the second dance with Emmitt???? even hubby said rewind that. . .

I am sort of glad Monique made a few boo boos last night, since she is the obvious one to go tonight.

I like them all, but not their partners. Right now the only partner I like is Cheryl and hope that look at her ballroom doesn't hurt her by haters....

Karina was acting like she had PMS in that first dance preview, ugh, she gives me the heebies and the jeebies. I agree, the fact that they are pulling the "unsure" card every week is getting tiring. If he was so unfocused and unprofessional I cannot imagine him coming out and doing that every week. I think they're just trying to do their own personal soap opera.

Joey's head and Edyta's eyes give me the creeps so I just don't watch them anymore.

Love love love Emmitt and Cheryl. This big muscular man moves like magic is moving him! And I love the fact that he does it like a MAN.

I also love Monique but feel it's her time to go. I'm glad her star has grown since being on this show. I never would've known her without it!
