****The Official June 2015 thread!!! We're finally going to WDW***

Give it to me straight! For those that have been during June how bad is the heat? We are from Phoenix so we are used to the heat being in the 110-120 degree range during the summer. What we are NOT used to is HUMIDITY! My DH is worried that we are just going to be a ball of sweat and we won't have a good expeirence due to the heat. But then again DH isn't a big fan of Disney.

The difference between Phoenix and Orlando is the humidity! I'm from So Cal and our summers are hot, but not humid. I live in FL now and the humidity kills me. I highly recommend investing in Frogg Toggs (you can cut one in half and they'll still be plenty big) as they really help cool you down and take afternoon breaks for the pools and to rest in your hotel room. It won't be as bad as August, but you will be sweaty and hot. However, you will still have a fabulous time! I went 6 months pregnant in Aug (which is supposedly the "worst" month to do Disney) and with Frogg Toggs, afternoon breaks and lots of water I had a very enjoyable vacation so I'm convinced anyone can!

So we live in Indio, CA. Desert area, usually 115 or higher. We went to WDW in June two years ago...it was refreshing compared to weather at home! Lol. 85 with humidity is way better than a dry 115.

Second the Frogg Togg chill towels! They make a difference. Go early then break after lunch or plan to do airconditioned shows in afternoon if not leaving park. Also if staying I'd recommend ADRs for dinner (anothe break from heat).

It can be hot. We are going May 30-June 6 and plan on hitting the parks early morning and then again in the evening. We will spend the afternoons resting or swimming in the hotel pool.

ARgghh KIds don't know we are going back this year, let alone Star Wars Weekend and WWOHP at Universal. It is getting harder to plan AND keep secret! Husband almost blew it just now talking about camping plans for "when we get back in June"...:scared1:

We are surprising our kids Easter morning! I can't wait to see their reaction, but I also am having a hard time keeping the secret the past week or so. It will be nice when the cat is out of the bag!

After having to shift our trip for the middle DS's preschool graduation and having to drop our first SWW day and Jedi Mickey meal I just scored one for the 1st! We check in that day, but will head to DHS for some regular DHS stuff and to do the meal and maybe Fantasmic if we can hang long enough. (We have early ADR's at CP the next morning so we'll see.) It's a little late for my 1 year old for dinner so I'll keep looking for something earlier, but I'm just happy to have this reservation! It's one of my must dos for the trip! Yippee!

Did you say you have early ADRs on the 2nd at CP? LOL. what time? us too!

I am glad to see people having luck getting better ADRs. (I really just wanted to post to see my ticker). :flower:

Going. Again. May 31- June 4. Staying one day less then normal because we will be 5 instead of 4 (surprising my God-daughter. It's too expensive for her parents.) This will be her first time ever. She's a huge Frozen fan. My DSs grew up going to Disney, but this will be the first time that we will be doing a lot of "girl stuff." Plus, my sons are 15 and 16, so they're looking forward to it too!

I forced my boys to do Cinderella's Royal Table last trip just because I'd never done it and we've been enough times. (And because my husband insisted on the Dlx dining plan, but that's a whole other story!) My teenage son loved it so much he has asked to eat there again. The princesses really fawned over him and he had a magical experience with Jasmine! I don't think another visit there could ever compare!

Waiting up for my FP+ reservations! Excited and nervous! :)

We went to CRT with DS a few years back (before DD was born) and he fell in love with Ariel. We have the cutest picture of him with a lipstick kiss on his cheek and hugging her. :-)

We tend to do the Deluxe Dining Plan as well, so when we do, dinner at CRT is a must. Akershaus really hasn't come close the past 2 times we've been there.

Hey everyone! I've never posted on this or any other disney forum before - but I'm getting a little nervous about our June trip. We are going June 1-5. Last night we found out the annual Gay Days will be right during our trip. To head off any debates - I promise you we have zero problem with the gay community in general whatsoever. And I probably wouldn't even notice if there were a large number of same sex couples in the parks with their kiddos. I *am* concerned about three things:

1. We read there is an unofficial host hotel but I can't find anywhere that says what it actually is for 2015. From what we've read online it seems that the host hotel can get crazy and very much not kid-appropriate. Has anyone heard anything about this?

2. We read about some pretty crazy/obnoxious/inappropriate things going on in the parks (probably from the 20 something singles who go all out) that would totally ruin the Disney atmosphere :(. Has anyone gone during this time before?

3. Their 'unofficial schedule' has them at Hollywood Studios on Friday June 5. This is also Star Wars weekend, right? We have a breakfast reservation at Hollywood Studios Friday morning that we're really excited about and I can't find another day with an available breakfast there at this point :(. So I think we're stuck. It's going to be awful (crowd wise) isn't it? I should add that we are the totally opposite of Star Wars fans...to each his own and don't hate me - but I can't stand Star Wars :/

Any discussion on this would be so appreciated! We were so excited to finally book our fast passes this week - but now this has us nervous :/

I haven't heard of any crazy behavior in the parks, although I heard of some wild pool parties at the host hotel (which I thought was an off property hotel according to the website). I have also heard that they don't really add to the crowds whatsoever, but yes, HS will be crowded for SWW in general. If you think it will interfere with your enjoyment of HS that day (SWW and "gay days"), then I would suggest to keep looking for a breakfast ADR another morning. People cancel things all the time! :-)

We've gone during that first week in June as well as the 2nd week before and noticed no general sizable crowd difference between the two weeks. During most trips, you will bump into adults behaving badly but it is few and far between so no worries. Have a great trip. As Koh said, keep trying for a different breakfast day because they open up all the time. Then you can avoid the craziness that SWW brings.

I have been with the family for Gay Days before. We honestly didn't notice any difference.

From what I have read, it isn't an event that Disney recognizes, just one the Gay community celebrates at Disney over 4 days. (I may be wrong here, but I thought I read somewhere.

From what is being reported, the following is the calendar of events

Thursday June 4: Animal Kingdom

Friday June 5: Hollywood Studios

Saturday June 6: Magic Kingdom

Sunday June 7: Epcot

So according to your schedule, the higher crowds would only be the last 2 days of your trip.

As I have noticed before, there was never any problems, and just another great day in the park. The SWW will cause the crowds to be larger, but going first thing in the morning, hopefully you can get some of the big attractions out of the way early.

Have Fun!
