****The Official June 2015 thread!!! We're finally going to WDW***

We have booked our Disney trip for 06/07-06/14! This will be our first time going as a family of 5! We took our daughter in 2009 when she was 2 1/2 and now we are finally going back! We can't wait to watch our twins experience Disney for the first time!

We booked at Caribbean Beach Resort with the Disney Dining Plan. We have made all of our ADR's and now we are just waiting to book our FP's!

I just need to let it all out some where...

OK so at first it was just me, DH and DD7 going...then it was me, DH, DD7, adult DD, DGboy (8 months old)...then it was me, DH, DD7, adult DD, Dboy (8 months old), DMom (to help with Dboy), DGranny (upgraded to a 2 bedroom villa)...

Now it looks like it's just me, DD7 and possibly DMom. My DH just found out that he will have to work during that week, adult DD is expecting again and doesn't want to go pregnant, DGranny will want someone to stay home to tend to adult DD so she'll volunteer (I don't argue with elders)...

This also meant that I had to change resorts because a villa would be too much for just the two of us possibly the three of us and there is no one to cook for DH (health reasons) so I downgraded to POR Riverside Royal Guest room with a garden view (this will make DD7 very happy)...after looking at the resort map and seeing that there is only 1...yep...one bus stop I don't know how to feel. No rental car so we will be using public transportation for the first time and so that meant I had to change and or drop some ADRs.

I have never went on vacation without DH. I am very nervous about this on - 1200 miles away from home. I think that if my DMom goes along I'll feel better..working on her. Anyway, I'm still going and this means we get to fly for the first time. I'm going to try to stay positive.

The End.

what do you mean by only one bus stop?? Riverside has multiple stops. A bit of a pain having to stop at them all on the way around the resort before getting out to head to the parks, but definitely doable. (even with 4th of July crowds like we had the last time we were there)

On the map there is only one in our area and it is a bit of a trek to get to it.

Can you request to be near the bus stop? Have you checked out the Port Orleans website? (And resort thread). They are the best for ANY info you may need/want or any questions you have! :-)

It looks like there's a possibility we'll be moving our trip to August, if the dates align right. My Dad is retired military and so he may be able to go with us for part of our trip if we move the trip to August, and the military salute tickets plus the military discount on the resort would save us around $1400...definitely worth moving the trip if we can get the dates to work out!

No. I booked a Royal Guest room.

We are going back June 7th-13th!!! My family of four are trying a new resort..Grand Floridian! So excited and I love to plan our trip!! :cheer2:

No. I booked a Royal Guest room.

There are plenty of Royal rooms within 4 or 5 minutes of transportation. Some might be closer to the main bus stop, and some might be closer to the one behind the mansions. 1st floor rooms are probably easier/quicker since you wouldn't have to wait for an elevator.

We have a group of 11, 3 families booked for June 3-13 staying offsite. Am looking for a good deal for a room on June 3rd&4th as we had to come in early to get best airfare from Ca.

Just got off the phone with a cm asking about changing my room only discount reservation to a package, he said I could loose my resort that I am booked at now when I change to a package?:confused3

Just to add tickets and/or dining? You shouldn't have to cancel and rebook...I would call back and talk to a different CM.

Thanks will check it out! Found a holiday inn deal on Priceline $90 including taxes per room includes breakfast. Figure that's worth at least $20 right there for my group.

I hope it works that your dad can go with you! :goodvibes My FIL and stepMIL came with us for a couple days last year with us and it was (I cannot believe I am saying this as there have been "issues" with the stepMIL) Awesome!! Plus the grands loved taking the kids on some rides with just them. I think it worked so well because we split up if we wanted too and then met up at FP+ times and meals. Since we had Memory maker linked to all of us it was really fun looking at each others pics.

No. I booked a Royal Guest room.

Amirah95..if you request to be close to the East Depot, your room might end up with a parking lot view.

Our last trip I wanted to be close to the laundry and the food court/lobby as well so I requested the Oak Building. We ended up using the main bus stop (South Depot) in front of the lobby (garden view room). (Even though Oak is the closest of the two RGR buildings to the East Depot as well).

Thanks! Did you make this request at online check in or when you got the resort? Also, I paid for a garden view so if I request the Oak building they can't put me in front of a parking lot can they? Has this happened to you or anyone you know?

DMom is going with us and she needs a shorter walk to the bus and breakfast (no having a car this time around worries me a little. We will also be having most of our breakfasts at the resort too, but transportation is what I am more worried about.

After 2 consecutive years in a row, The Wiles family is close to booking their third trip to the happiest place on earth! I think we will be posting the good news in the next 24 hrs. the current plan is to pack the car and pluck DS from the parking lot on the last day of school and say "DS you just finished your last day of 2nd grade how would your like to go to Disney World??" curious to his response...

:woohoo:

My DS is in 2nd grade as well and we're leaving soon after he gets out of school too! Where are you planning on staying? We'll be driving as well!
