****The Official June 2015 thread!!! We're finally going to WDW***

Ugh, I have such conflict in me right now and I'm not sure what to do...

I *think* I need to eat at Be Our Guest and I can't decide (1.) If it should be lunch or dinner and (2.) Is it even good enough to be 1 of our 5 precious lunch/dinner ADRs. ....??

I feel I need to eat there so I can say I did it, but I feel all the dining reviews only rate it a so-so....

We will be on DxDP so we'd have plenty of TS credits for a dinner and I think my family would like the dinner menu better over lunch, but then I wonder if dinner is good enough to take the space of another restaurant. ..

Argh!!

Thoughts, comments, suggestions? ?

I can only give you advice about dinner because that is the only meal we've eaten at BOG so far. We ate dinner there on our June 2013 and it was magical!! pixiedust:

We were seated in the ballroom (I think that was the only area open for dinner at that time). My littlest DD was only about 9 1/2 months at the time and our ADR was for 9pm so she was sound asleep in her stroller. They let me (actually encouraged me to) bring her into the restaurant in her stroller. We were seated right next to one of the "windows" with all the snow. The stroller backed right up to the wall in between the tables with plenty of room.

My eldest DD (16 at the time) and I both got the grilled strip steak with with garlic-herb butter and pomme frites. I kind of surprised myself because for months I was anticipating getting the shrimp/scallop puffed pastry thing. I must have been in the mood for a steak that night. I ended up not getting an "adult beverage" even though our server played up the "only place in the park that serves alcohol" feature because it was so hot outside and I was dehydrated already.

I was a little nervous ordering the strip steak because I was afraid it might be tough but it was very tender and had a great flavor. It is also served with a side of green beans but they were a little too al dente for my taste. I was nervous after reading the reviews like you but this ended up being one of my favorite meals of the trip.

After dinner we didn't wander around too much but we did go to get our picture made with the Beast. This was the 9 1/2 month old's first character interaction ever and he (she?) did amazing with her!!! The Beast is HUGE and I thought she would be terrified but she just looked up at him and he rubbed her arm with his paw. She did great!

This trip we are going to attempt to do lunch at BOG and see if we like it just as much as our dinner experience.

See!

That sounds like a FABULOUS dinner!! and I already know that both of my boys would order the shrimp/scallop dinner and I wanted the pork chop however, I just read a review of too much thyme on it!!) and I'm pretty sure that DH would order the steak (but read reviews about over cooked and bland!!)..

and I think I NEED that lemon cupcake..

oh, I think I need to keep the dinner plans - maybe I should look into ways to convince DH to stay a 6th night?? :rolleyes1

It's official!! Well, sort of!! We are looking at June 15-19. I'd like to go earlier, but with DD's softball, I just can't take a chance. She & I went last year for her Sweet 16, in October. My DH isn't a Disney guy. We thought a quick trip during the week should fit into our busy summer schedule but I'm worried about crowds. Any advice? Are the levels really 9s?

Well it looks like our plans have change yet again. We were planning on going in late July, but now it looks like we are going from June 9-16. I think SWW may have something to do with that.

Welcome to the train to Disney that will be departing in June 2015!! and WHY can't the DH's talk food with us a year out?? :confused3 don't they know its important for planning purposes??:rolleyes2
I annoy DH w talking about Disney. So, the kids and I look at the restaurants, plan everything and then tell him where we are eating. If he doesn't like our choices, he can't complain BC he didn't want to discuss it. Works well for us!

My DH isn't a Disney guy. Hates crowds, people, children, fun in general. Lol, not really. My daughter & I took our first trip w/o him last October. We had a great mother/daughter trip to celebrate her Sweet 16! So great, we wanted to celebrate Sweet 17!! But, alas, she needed her first car instead! So now, we are planning for June '15. Those crowd calendars scare me!! Please tell me "9s" aren't so bad!!

I was working on my trip spreadsheet yet again (what else is new?) so I thought I would stop by the thread to say hello.

MacDalt...my last big trip was the first week of June 2013 so being a little earlier than your dates the crowd levels might have been a little bit different. But I didn't find the crowds to be bad at that time of the year at all.

We've been twice in July before (once the week of July 4th) so the crowds were about as high as they could possibly be (not to mention it was HOT!!!) and it was still doable. I think that as long as you go into it knowing that it's going to possibly be crowded and take that into consideration when planning...you should have a wonderful trip!!!

Thanks! We've been about 6 times in a row for a day trip (MK only) during Spring Break. Some of those days there were closures. We still got 18-22 attractions done each time. Last trip was October. It was a dream with crowd levels of 5!! I'm just afraid we spoiled ourselves! If we have a plan, and study park recommendations, I think we can have an enjoyable trip. But it won't be like October, lol!! You made me feel more confident! Thanks!

We had lunch there twice (both with FP+) and loved it! You should definitely go once just for the atmosphere. I've heard it's calmer at dinner (no one wandering around for drinks and silverware, etc), but we thought it was fine at lunch. DH loved the steak sandwich and got it both times. I had the pork (soooo good) and the croque Monsieur (I didn't care for it), I'm getting the pork when we return! The masters cupcake with gray stuff frosting was super yummy!

Jumping on the train! We'll be there June 8-17, 2015. Hoping to add a few days at pop onto the beginning of our trip if we make it through the winter with no snow days and there's a decent discount for that time!

Does anyone know of any discounts at this time? Room only? Free dining? Haha, I'm sure not FD, but it never hurts to ask!

The Disney employee I spoke to said that there may be free dining at the time I was going, but nothing was guaranteed.

I've been thinking about our ADRs...do I need to have my resort reservation made before 180 days out so I can make all of our ADRs? If I haven't made our resort reservation will I only be able to do the ADRs for one day at a time?

We will be coming probably the last week in June, so excited!! This will be our second trip and I am really excited. Our last trip was AMAZING but it was in January so I hope it is just as wonderful this time!!:cool1: I also just sent a fb request to join the group.

Good question! My guess is we will need a reservation to get the 180+10. Anyone can make an ADR but the +10 may come from a reservation. Hopefully someone who actually knows can confirm this :)

Hi guys, me and my extended family booked today at CR for May 30- June 7th. Never been that time of year and it's been years since any of us have been there(with the exception of the two 5-year-old princesses who have never been to WDW). Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
Susan
