The *OFFICIAL JUNE 2011 THREAD* "Some Like it Hot" & Some Like it Even Hotter! Part 2

That's okay. Better late than never. Where are you staying? How long will you be in the World? Anything exciting planned? :goodvibes

We're staying at POFQ from June 22nd to June 28th. There are 10 of us going, 3 adults, 3 teens, 2 little girls and 1-year-old twins!:scared1: Our last visit was in 2008, so everyone is so excited! We have are ADRs and plan to visit all of the parks. We know things will be different this year because we have the twins, but we've been enough times that we're not worried that we'll miss anything.

That is when I'll be at POFQ!

I'll be the one with my hair in various shades of pink and purple. :yay:

We have been watching lots of all about Disney videos on Netflix. We have each picked our top 5 must do rides and top 5 must do attractions. My 2 1/2 year old just picked two things riding the carousel (she doesn't remember much from last year) and eating with Cinderella. She was easy to accommodate. We are trying to contemporary for part of our trip this year. We have not been there in years. I will let you know what we think.

Last year was either of ours first year to go in quite a while. I was glad I picked up some books and learned about CRT. Seriously, I talked about that one and 1900 Park Fare for weeks before we went on our vacation. Sleeping Beauty, Belle, Ariel and Snow White coming to my table? MARY POPPINS????? Well, I might as well have been 5. :cloud9: I think I was actually hopping up and down in my seat.

By the way, everyone, I've been meaning to mention this for a week (or more). My husband found some applesauce in a squeeze bag at our local Super Target. They have several other flavors but I really like the cinnamon apple flavor (peach-apple, apple-banana, etc). They have a cap that you can screw back on if your kiddo doesn't finish it. They are a little more expensive than applesauce in cups but you don't need a spoon. Thought some of you might need to know about these if you were driving.

We are not going to do CRT this time around. We are going to wait until she is a little older to do it, but we are doing Akershus and 1900 Park Fare so we can be guaranteed to see Cinderella. Although depending on the day, she also wants to see Ariel, Belle, and Snow White. I figure whoever we see, she will be happy about. She is absolutely in LOVE with Rapunzel, but I don't think I will be able to use park time this year for the meet n greet. I explained that Rapunzel was still so busy with her new kingdom that she might not be in Disney just in case we couldn't wait for her. I still get excited over the characters. I make my kids an autograph/scrapbook to use each time we go and I think I like using it more than the kids. :rotfl:

We didn't get to see Rapunzel on our last day there in March. It was the time change day and I think something else was going on. Everyone in line was given a handwritten note to come back later and they'd be worked in when they arrived. Well, we were leaving on our cruise so I asked if he could put "July 4th" on mine. He gave me a strange look but did it. I have no idea if they're going to honor it but I'm going to try. I just have to see the Smolder. I love the Smolder. :cloud9:

Well welcome to the group. I will add your information to our main list on page one. I just need to do it when I am on the computer and not the iPad. I make too many mistakes when I copy and paste from this thing, but I love it anyway. We will be there the same time as you, but we are staying at kidani village. Can't wait! We love it there! Just a few more days for all of us late Junies. I didn't think there were this many of us left. It was starting to feel like everyone had left but me!

I know what you mean! The Smolder is the best part! My daughter refuses to call him anything but Eugene, which I think is so cute and she obsesses now that people are going to cut her hair and turn it brown. Funny what kids fixate on! I hope they honor your note! That would be great!

I'm still going to try and get in line for the 9:15 AM show that day. The first time I met them I didn't think to ask what's in his bag and I think I'm also going to call him Eugene as well. And I think it's adorable (although more annoying for you I'm sure) that she doesn't want to cut her hair.

Yeah but she also has a habit of pretending to be Rapunzel and calling me Mother Gothel which is not so cute! :lmao: I always ask if I can be someone else.

Back in the hotel to watch the college world series! We were considering going to the ESPN Club, but since Florida is also in the series, we decided they might get grumpy that Virginia fans are there.
This morning we did the sunrise safari at AK- if you stay at AKL, it is so worth getting up at 6. To do this though you have to stay club, but we loooved it! We also did the walking trail in Asia and watched Nemo. Now we're back in, and heading to MK tonight for the dessert party.
For weather: it's hot and humid, but for us, its only a few degrees hotter than we're used to. Crowds: it really doesn't seem that bad to us, but we've been in the parks early, so that could be something to do with it.
Of you guys need to know anything else, we'll try to find the answer!

Thank you for your prayers.

Mom2, Looks like we will be at CBR same time. We are arriving on 6/23-7/1.
I'll be on the look out for you.

Awesome! I am so excited - this will be my first time on property! Did you do online checkin? I'm not sure if I should or not, and what the advantages to doing it would be!

I packed for my girls already but haven't started myself or DH, and my boys may have to fend for themselves if they don't get their laundry to me! lol

:lmao:

She was kind of mean. I'm sure you are not.

But I almost died laughing the other day when she said to me (all at one time with no pausing). "I love you, I love you more, I love you most." (all of which she said while grabbing my cheeks). What a little actress?!?

Happy Father's Day to all dads on the June thread!

It's getting closer. :woohoo: This is such a busy week in our house so I'm hoping the time flies by. Packing is all finished and the luggage is lined up ready to go.

All of the good clothes are packed so we'll be wearing whatever is left over. The outfits this week should be "interesting." We are also trying to finish up whatever is in the refrigerator so our meals will need to become more creative as the week goes on. In fact our Disney Dinner this year is going to be pancakes and scrambled eggs.

Everyone leaving this week...have a great, safe trip. This banana's for you!!
