The *OFFICIAL JUNE 2011 THREAD* "Some Like it Hot" & Some Like it Even Hotter! Part 2

Happy Birthday Anjalee! Welcome to the world of being addicted to an iPad! ;)

My family had part two of our pirate marathon last night! So far, Sophie (7) made it through the entire first one and about 3/4 of the 2nd. The boys conked out less than halfway on both. However, my goal was just to get them acquainted with characters. They also saw a few fun action sequences before there was too much violence. We fast forwarded some of the rough stuff for Sophie (my main over the top scene was when bootstrap bill has to whip will in movie #2...she just doesn't need to see that). However, I am ok with the stabbings and everyday gunfire :rotfl:.

Got an Ipad for my birthday today! Yay! I can't wait to play around with it!

I will update everyone's information, but it might just have to be tomorrow. I am thinking this lady needs a night of relaxation. :goodvibes

Congrats and happy birthday!! After you get used to it.. You will be cursed with the.."I think I will take it to the grocery store" syndrome.. I am on this thing all the time!! Yes I am replying right now on my iPad!! :rotfl2: if you want or need any pointers.. Just ask!:thumbsup2

Happy Birthday Anjalee and congrats on the iPad! I'm dreaming of one someday....

Only 5 more sleeps for me!!!

10 days left!! I'm trying so hard to keep myself from doing the online check-in since I promised dc she could do it. but she's moving so I think it would be much easier for me to do it ;) (I just really really want to do something disney)

:cool1::cool1: We are under 20 days away...YIPPEE!!

I am so jealous of those who leave this week and next week and the week after...but I know our day will get here very quickly. Read a really good recent report on the Autotrain thread...and am now very thankful we have rooms booked instead of staying in coach as was the original plan. Especially since the prices of the rooms have started to climb...so I'm glad we booked ahead of time instead of waiting!

I have notified the family of the change in our itenerary and I emailed everybody and we've decided to split the cost of a pre-ordered Photopass CD, since we'll all probably be in most of the photos together anyway. I just need to remember to pre-order it before I leave.

I should probably make a checklist of to-dos. I have a neighbor who has volunteered to feed my cats while we are gone. While this is great it's my only source of worry. My oldest cat (he'll be 16 in June) sometimes gets sick...especially in the heat even though our house is air conditioned. Yesterday he had one of those days...and not to go into graphic details but basically he ends up leaving small drops of *stuff* all over the house...it's like he vomits and gets some sort of cat diarrhea. :sad1: I spent a good hour or more cleaning spots on our carpet last night. I would just HATE for my neighbor to walk-in and find that mess in our house. I would not expect her to clean it up. However I don't really want to lock the cat(s) up anywhere either for nearly two weeks. Ugh..not sure what I'll do right now. Might need to find a way to confine them to our kitchen so at least the mess will be contained to non-carpet areas if it happens again. :confused3

I keep forgetting to do online check-in. Thanks for the reminder. :) I've not started packing or anything. I just realized today that I need to buy band aids. Gah! The list is never ending!!!

Another quick packing question. After hearing about the hydroflask on the podcast I purchased one and would like to bring it with me. Where do I pack it? Carry on or suitcase? I won't put any liquid in it so that should not be a problem. I am just not up on what security considers bad these days so I don't want to make a mistake.

I found the PERFECT, PERFECT bag for Disney. It's a cross-body bag and it's slim, but it zippers open to get bigger and has pockets galore!! I was looking at bags on ebags.com for $30 and up and I found this at TJMaxx for $13!!!

I'm so proud of myself! LOL

The ID pouch that comes with the bag

The zipper on the bottom that allows the bag to expand and the zipper that reveals a netted water bottle holder.

Front pocket that has a "wet" compartment for wipes, washcloth, etc.

I wish they had it in pink, but I'll take whatever I can get for $13!:banana:

For those of you flying, here is a link to TSA in case you have some questions about the screening process.

http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/index.shtm

Included on these pages is information about how they screen children when they are picked for separate screening (They won't separate the kids from you!) and other topics like Medication and Medical devices, prohibited items and other useful tips.

Did you know that the TSA does NOT want you to pack batteries in CHECKED luggage? They would rather that you carry on batteries and have them inspected by TSA.

That is just one of many tips that will help make the screening process easier and quicker for you as well as stress free (Hopefully!)

Thank you for flying Team June 2011 and have a safe trip!

Marlton Mom

Thanks for posting this! :worship: Although I've flown several times before, it can't hurt to have a last-minute reminder before I leave in the am :thumbsup2

Hi all!!

First Happy Birthday Angalee! I love b-days! Great gift too! :thumbsup2

Is it ok to ask for prayer on here? My mom lives in Joplin MO. She is OK, but her house was destroyed (and her car). She is staying with friends now, and I am so thankful for that. It is so hard not being there with her during this time. (different state) AND on top of that, I found out Tuesday that my job is being out-sourced. (This does not just effect me, it is company wide) My last day is day before we leave for Disney. :sad1:

*sigh* I really need a hug from Mickey. I am an "up" person and am sure I'll be back to happy self soon, just a lot going on right now, and am SO thankful that my mom is well and safe.

Ok, ds16 just called and forgot something for school... have to be a mom now and take it to him. Life does continue. ~Linda

Sending lots of prayers your way to you and your family. Glad to hear your mom is ok. :grouphug: Just remember when one door closes, another one opens.

Dear Linda,
It's okay to get sad about things. You'll bounce back. I'll be keeping your mom in my thoughts.

We are now under 30 days!!!! Yippee!!!!

Thinking about your mom, Linda! Seeing pictures of Joplin just makes my heart sink. I'm so glad she's ok.

Wow Linda...that's a lot to have on your plate. Hope your mom is hanging in there. I can't imagine...and even worse not being able to be there for her. I assume she has other family and/or friends in the area that can help her?

Sorry about the job thing too. Chin up and hang in there!

Ok - I have to post this... ds13 came home yesterday saying he was marching with ds16 in Disney parade - I had never heard of school doing this before so while being supportive, was a bit cautious with subject, just thought ds might have misunderstood director ..... So, I just ran into percussion band director at school and DS13 WILL be marching/playing with the high school at Disney! OMGosh! Wow - had to call DH on way home and tell him! :cool1:

Thanks for hug. Niece & family and Nepew & family are close but in different towns. She has very good network of friends - again, very thankful for that. They are having town meeting this afternoon for information about FEMA and such. I know and believe it will all work out. :)

I finally booked a Chef Mickey's breakfast!!! :goodvibes I'm so happy, I've been checking every day and finally got one! :cool1: You can add the ADR to the list, it's June 24th at 10:45 A.M. That's the day we head home from Universal, but now we're making at pit stop at Chef Mickey's before heading home. :)

Chicagoshannon: Sounds like us! Memorial Day weekend, 2 more days of school, then M-i-c-k-e-y! Woo Hoo!
