More severe weather across the country. We're under a PDS (Potentially Dangerous Situation)Tornado Watch until midnight. I hope everyone stays safe tonight!

We will be there in just a few days. I was going over some last minute plans and I seem to have made some really big mistakes when it comes to park hours. What I have written down does not match the official Disney World site. The hours one wdwinfo are not the same as the Walt Disney World site. Is it safe to assume that the link on the front of this thread is up to date and accurate? :( It has gotten a bit confusing to me.

Can't wait to get this vacation started. :cloud9:

I posted this on the "old" thread and then read through several pages that I missed and saw that we've got a new thread now! So I'm re-posting this here, if that is okay...

Here is a question for ya...

I'm always reading on Disney blogs and such how you can just pop over to the Poly or Boardwalk for a quick lunch out of the hustle and bustle of the parks. I can see how that is tempting, but it seems like you have to go out, wait in line for a boat or a monorail or take a walk, and then don't you have to wait in the lines to get back in the park through the turnstiles? How long does that take?

I was just reading a lovely write up on Captain Cook's at the Poly and it seems like an awful lot of work to get to what is essentially a counter service restaurant. Just curious.

Having read thru 7 more pages and seeing nobody else offer an answer, I thought I'd give my thoughts on the subject . . .

There comes a point when racking up ride time in the parks ceases to be fun. It may be the heat, the crowds, the impending meltdown, but just trudging on to make one more ride or ADR feels like more of a chore than a magical moment. In anticipation of reaching that sad state of affairs, we become proactive in planning ways to "slow down and smell the roses." We learn what it takes to give us the opportunity to enjoy just being there.

"Resort hopping" is one of the ways many of us choose to give ourselves margin. WDW is a destination that offers so many beautiful and calming places and experiences. We plan time away from the parks to center ourselves and enjoy these beautiful spaces. Sometimes that involves a delicious table service (eg., Kona Cafe) or buffet/family style (Ohana) dining experience and sometimes that involves a meal from a counter service (Capt. Cook's) eatery. Sometimes, it doesn't involve food at all. Either one can be enjoyed in a relaxed setting and leave the participants feeling refreshed and ready to continue on to the next item on their agenda. (And Capt. Cook's had DOLE WHIP, Baby!)

ah, that is what I am doing wrong, I click something else, not the thread name. i'll be trying that! :thumbsup2 :worship: thanks!

and seriously, 2 days!?!

I'm at 5 till we leave, 6 till disney! :yay: :woohoo:

I click on the little check mark next to the thread name. And for some reason I have to open it in a new window/thread or sometimes when I go back to the CP it doesn't show the threads that I haven't read as new anymore, so I just leave the CP open and open new windows with the check mark link. Hope that makes sense!

Just found out about the new thread so I need to get all caught up...I leave early on Friday morning...I'm so excited!

Only 8 more days for me! Next week at this time I will be packing!! I decided to not check bags since it is so darn expensive so that will be fun trying to fit all my liquids in one bag...NOTT!!

Were heading home to Ohio this weekend for my sisters graduation so it ought to be a fun week!! I will be starting a dining report and possibly a trip report when I come back so I will post the links on here to get you hungry for Disney food.

Got an Ipad for my birthday today! Yay! I can't wait to play around with it!

I will update everyone's information, but it might just have to be tomorrow. I am thinking this lady needs a night of relaxation. :goodvibes

Went to DS(7)'s school today to have the class help w/a present for his teacher. She's retiring at the end of the year:sad1:. Then I realised I only have 17 days to pack, get the dog to the vet, make the scrapbook for his teacher, get everything else I need for our trip. Where did the time go? I can't believe it will actually be here soon!! Didn't we all just start planning on this thread?

For those of you flying, here is a link to TSA in case you have some questions about the screening process.

http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/index.shtm

Included on these pages is information about how they screen children when they are picked for separate screening (They won't separate the kids from you!) and other topics like Medication and Medical devices, prohibited items and other useful tips.

Did you know that the TSA does NOT want you to pack batteries in CHECKED luggage? They would rather that you carry on batteries and have them inspected by TSA.

That is just one of many tips that will help make the screening process easier and quicker for you as well as stress free (Hopefully!)

Thank you for flying Team June 2011 and have a safe trip!

Marlton Mom
