The *OFFICIAL JUNE 2011 THREAD* "Some Like it Hot" & Some Like it Even Hotter! Part 2

the weather has been really scary lately, hope everyone every where stays safe whatever the conditions in your area are

OK so I'm a little slow. Running around like crazy and didn't realize I was STILL looking at the 1st thread thinking I was looking at this one. :upsidedow After I posted this morning I was like 'pg. 212...hmmm duh wrong thread' :rotfl: I know I'm special!

So here's our mini schedule finally:

June 11th Leave at 9pm heading to FL
June 12th Arrive in Orlando at 10:30am. Head over to ASMu and chill at the pool waiting on rest of family to arrive (those that are driving or flying)
June 13th- Magic Kingdom with dinner at Crystal Palace
June 14th- Animal Kingdom in the morning with breakfast at Tusker House
June 14th- Afternoon/Evening back at Magic Kingdom
June 15th- Epcot
June 16th- Hollywood Studios with mid-day break (must attempt TSM in the morning and HAVE TO END with Fantasmic at 9pm)
June 17th- Hanging with best friend and kids at the pool
June 18th- Lunch at Portobello. Head home at 5pm. :(

We are sure we won't do Chef Mickey's on the 16th at 7:50pm now that we will plan to do Fantasmic so before I cancel are there any newcomers interested??? If so, PM me and I'll try to adjust the ressie to meet your needs.

We'll be pulling into ASMo in about 7 days!
  • June 2: check-in early (hopefully by 8am), head to DHS; if lucky get back to ready room in time to unwind before 3pm Mama Melrose F! pkg. If not we'll eat, go back to the room & return for Fantasmic
  • June 3 : Epcot Future World in the a.m., back to the hotel for break; MK in the p.m. for Cindy's dinner & EMH
  • June 4: Sleep in. To Epcot for World Showcase, lunch at Le Cellier, & Illuminations
  • June 5: Non-park day. Bass fishing trip 7-9 a.m., water sports: Searaycers, maybe parasailing; DS wants to go to Fort Wilderness & ride a pony (we'll see). Dinner at either Kona Cafe 5 pm or Yachtsmans 7 pm
  • June 6: Early day for morning EMH at AK; breakfast at Tusker House; free evening
  • June 7: Possible another early day for EMH at MK or back to DHS; after the afternoon break it's Chefs de France for dinner
  • June 8: Check-out day. Have bkfst ressie for Chef Mickey's but thinking of cancelling (we'll probably have many CS credits left on the plan & I know we exceeded our TS!) Last day will be spent at MK/Epcot. Plan on getting home around 10pm

FYI for those wanting to do pirates league (mermaid package or otherwise) and having a hard time getting a reservation...keep trying. I recently called to retrieve my confirmation number (put it in a safe spot and lost it...duh). Luckily I did because I had the wrong date in mind! I would have shown up a day early. Anyway, the CM checked to see if she would be able to change the date to the one I thought I had and they were able to with no problem. There had been reports of them being completely booked, but this wasn't true for me. I got 9:00 and 9:10 appts for 7-1 with no problems (for 3 kids). The CM did ask me if DD would be getting the mermaid package, but it seemed more like it was just making conversation. I explained I had already bought the polish and she'd be doing the empress (since I was afraid they'd sell out...she agreed that was likely). I'm going to post this on theme parks page too!

If you are not going to use your reservation for Chef Mickey's Breakfast I am checking out of ASMo on June 8th as well and will have time to spend at the parks and eating before my flight. I would love to use it. It is just me I am a solo traveller and really wanted to do Chef Mickey's but I booked to late and they don't have any ADR's so if you aren't going to use and are ok with another DISer using it let me know PM me.

Hi,

I'm finding this thread really late but wanted to post so you can color in NE on your map!

We leave on 6/1 and return on 6/8. We're staying in an offsite timeshare & not planning at TS meals this trip. The kids decided they didn't want to do any character meals either. However, I'm excited because the younger two are finally adventurous to try the big rides this trip! Their 17 sis still isn't sure about some of them. Thanks for posting that packing list!

:welcome:Welcome StephMK, looks like you'll be leaving for WDW very soon! Have a great trip, we'll be arriving the day you're leaving. I hope the weather is nice!

I would take it if this doesn't work out, there are 4 of us. It will be our first full day and we are planning on MK. Same situation, booked ADR's too late and kids are bummed!

Does anyone have any next trip planned? I thought it might be interesting to follow each other in the future.

Sadly, the pinched nerve in my back that has kept me incapacited since May 2, has made it necessary to cancel our June 25 trip. So, here are the future trips I have in the planning process (based on next year's school calendar, of course):

Dec 23 - 31 @ OKW, a Santa at the Beach adventure:santa:

April 1 - 8 for Flower & Garden Festival:hippie:, resort not yet determined

Sometime in October 2012 for Food & Wine Festival

I'll keep following this thread and your trip reports to enjoy this summer's vacation vicariously through all of you.

OMG! Where have I been?? 10 pages already??? I need to stop planning and start surfing the web more! :lmao:

man, if you just arrived a little sooner I could have seen if I could still add one more person to mine. I orignally had a 5 person ADR (for june 2ed), and I dropped it down to 4. :sad2: also, I would keep checking, they didn't have anything for garden grill for MONTHS, then suddenly I got my adr. (for 2 people.) and are you checking online or calling? I have this feeling I got more slots for time the few times I called vs checking online, not sure if this is true but just putting it out there. oh and you can even call the day of and see if anything is open!

Thanks, Singledad. If you can tell me the specific town or area, I might be able to give you some information. Hope your family is safe and sound.

They are all reported to be safe. They are ALL over the state. from witchta falls, to san antiono, to just outside of ft worth, to down in larado. please excuse my lack of spelling.

Keep checking! You never know when something will open! (you can even call the day of and see if something is open.)

Seriously, this thread moves... but if you really wanna freak out, check out how fast the disdad's main thread moves. I swear, I go to work and come back with 5-7 pages to read. :scared1: and of course, I *ALWAYS* forget where i left off!

I'm here, didn't know there was a new thread.

Two weeks from today! It's going to fly by with softball games M-W-F (though we might see a lot of rain cancellations). At the rate this weather is going, we are not going to be acclimated to heat when we arrive. It's 55º and misty right now!

I feel rather unprepared, but I did start a packing list the other day. Trying to figure out suitcases since we have to pay for checked luggage, I know the girls would want to take their own suitcases, but I might just have us use 2 larger ones.

When I want to follow a big thread, like a trip report, I read to the bottom of the next-to-last page, then I save the thread in my Favorites in my browser. When I come back, I know I just need to click on the next page to start where I left off.

I just subscribe and then click on the little icon next to the name of the thread in my user control panel and it takes me to the last unread message.

2 more days until our trip starts! 6 more until Disney!

Well, we'll have our day being jealous of you. When it's time for us to go home, it will time for you to leave. :rotfl: or should that be :sad1:--it all depends if you're coming our going.

I decided at the last minute to make an autograph book which was not smart since I have so much to do before we leave (ugh! weed the yard since it finally stopped raining and before the HOA Overlords come knocking), but I had a vision of what I wanted it to look like. I'll post pictures when it's done. Then, I picked up a couple of new outfits for the girls (cheap, but cute, so when they get covered in ice cream, I won't care) which means I need to make some hairbows to match. Will this insanity never end?!?! Oh well, it helps pass the time--13 days--:yay:!

Hi everyone!

24 days til wedding & 26 til Disney now!! :woohoo: .. got a bit worried earlier this week as part of the UK air space was closed for volcanic ash :scared1: .. it happened last year & was really bad for nearly a week.. I had a big fear that it could happen again in 4 weeks time & then we wouldn't be able to get to Florida.. but, touch wood, the ash seems to have cleared quickly and no transatlantic flights had to be cancelled.. sure it's all going to be fine! We're looking forward to our honeymoon sooo much that I can't imagine if we couldn't go lol

Anyway, hope everyone is having a good week & I'm very jealous of all of you with single digit countdowns now!!

Emma princess: x
