We are hoping to go around Jan 23-30th. It will be my parents first trip in 22 years so we are excited. Still trying to figure out where to stay, though. And yes, I am also a planner and can't wait for August when the 2010 package rates come out. Here's hoping for some good deals!

When is the marathon in 2010? I just booked our January resort this morning for the 23rd-30th at Wilderness Lodge. Please tell me the marathon isn't then.

I'm really excited for our trip though! We've been quite a few times as AP holders, but I've never even seen the wilderness lodge and while we're usually frugal, we're going all out for the kids on this trip with BBB, Castle dinner, meal plan with 7 character meals, etc. I'm just really really hoping that the crowds are low.

I am anxious to experience it! I hope everything goes well, and I'll be trying Kidani for the first time too! I'm staying at AKL for a night in September.

If things go well, I plan on going to every park in one day on my first day. But we'll see.

We're going this summer too, but fully expecting crowds, heat and rain, so we'll just plan on spending a lot of time at the pool.

I did a search and did not find a January 2010 thread. We are returning after three plus years. It will be me, DH, DS9 (Will turn 10 while there), and DS8. My parents may be coming also. If there is another Official thread, I will edit this one, but I looked and didn't see one. We will be staying offsite at a townhouse or poolhome, but have not booked yet.

Please reply and I will start an official list.

Oh the pirate rooms do look great in pics I have seen! Perfect for boys!!! I hope they do enjoy! Isn't there a new pirate place opening kind of like BBB? They can get dressed up like pirates.

A new "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique" type experience is headed to the Pirates of the Caribbean gift shop area aimed at providing boys with an alternative to the mainly girl-orientated Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. The new "Pirates League" will be built in the section of the Pirates of the Caribbean gift shop that closed some years ago. The experience is less hair and makeup, and more about costume and accessories, including some pirate and swordsmanship training. The experience is set to open around June/July 2009. More details should surface in the next few weeks including costs and a more precise opening date.

Calling all scoundrels, rogues and ne’er-do-wells – Captain Jack and the crew of the Black Pearl want you.

Each guest checking in at the plunder-filled pirate’s lair gets an official pirate name. Then it’s off to Muster Station for applications of beards and eye patches, scarves and scars, earrings and gold teeth – all done with the savvy skill of a veteran pirate who shares his own tales of sea-sailing adventures.

After the new buccaneers recite a sacred pirate oath, they are officially part of Captain Jack’s motley crew, leaving their old identities behind.
