The Official Harper's Island thread starts 4/9/09....

Another good episode last night and another body found in the woods.

I thought Chloe's performance at The Cannery was brilliant! :rotfl2:

I think Richard got what was coming to him. I jumped when the spear came through his chest...that wasn't expected. :rolleyes1

This series is really getting fun now! :thumbsup2

I agree with everything you said :thumbsup2 It was pretty entertaining last night and I am glad they are finally finding bodies and getting :scared:

The actor who plays Harkin is not listed on IMDB....he kind of looks like Richard Dean Anderson (McGyver). Does anyone know who plays him?

This was listed on Wikipedia:

Cole Harkin
The Survivor (Portrayed by Dean Wray)
Cole Harkin was one of the two officers attacked by John Wakefield during his rampage. He was caught in a boat explosion that burned his face and the entire right side of his body. He was sent to Seattle for treatment and returned to the island months later. He now lives as a recluse in the woods, with a German shepard dog, perhaps to hide his burned face from others. In the 5th episode, Thomas and Trish trespassed on his land and he sent his dog to attack them. Thomas managed to kill the dog and they escaped. Harkin is also looking after Lucy's dog, Gigi, who found him after Lucy was killed.
Appearances: Episodes 5, 6

If y'all want more info on the Wakefield murders check out www.harpersglobe.com - it is a fun online community with a parallel story line, but it has helped me to know more about what is going on with the show, too. If you go to the site, go to Archives and check out some of the newspaper stories.....

It's not a spoiler site, it is related directly to each episode of HI, but it has its own storyline too, about a gal who comes to the island to set up an online community for the local paper. And then strange things start happening to her. Supposedly she has a "past" that might be coming back to haunt her. But she was actually in one episode of HI so far. And they have told us that the killer will be the same person on HG and HI. Very fun website!!!

HOWEVER, my sister just read that Harpers Island has been cancelled!!!! I really hope they finish the season though.

There is some speculation that Henry and JD are somehow related to Wakefield. He was sent away for a life sentence awhile before the murders, but he got out...... for whatever reason. Some think maybe he raped the sheriff's wife and maybe Abby is his daughter...... or something happened with Wellington's wife. After all, we don't know what happened to her, do we?

Another thing - Henry's midding initial is W as in Wakefield? And JD - could he share Wakefield's name? John David?

I certainly hope this is NOT the case or I will never watch another CBS show again...I don't care what it is.

Harper's Island was shot as a close ended story...13 episodes.

Had the ratings been huge I'm sure CBS would have ordered a 2nd season.

They did not.

The show is cancelled.

They will not be producing any additional episodes.

They will however be airing the entire series as planned.

I really enjoy this show and so do some of the women I work with but it hasn't aired here the past two weeks.

I guess it's a difference in terms. I don't consider a show that was planned for one season only and not being picked up for a second season as cancelled...maybe you do but I don't. To me a cancelled series is when a network stops showing the episodes on television each week...look at Pirate Master from a few years ago as an example and Eli Stone as a show that was cancelled before the end of that particular season.

Now back to out regularly scheduled program. ;)

I agree with you, if it was only planned for 1 season then it wasn't cancelled.

I like the show but it's not something I am overly excited about.

Did anyone new die this week? I can't rememeber. The death at the beginning was really a holdover from the last episode so did anyone else die except him?

Yes...Richard (Madison's father) got a spear through his chest this week so he's gone.

BTW...did anyone notice how Richard was pulled into the woods? Whoever the killer is MUST be pretty strong to do that.

Did that happen THIS week? I thought that was a preview for next week????
