The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

My best friend and her DH want to do one day of park touring, we are gifting them one day park hoppers as a surprise, since they are coming all the way from Spain just for us. We are going in Feb 3, it has MK EMH... but I know she would LOVE Wishes... should I just leave the MK EMH and go with Epcot instead for the very beginning, then do HS (we have an ADR for SciFi Dine In), AK and finally end the day at MK instead?

/QUOTE]

That's exactly the sort of thing we're doing on the 17th. It's EMH at MK, and I know it will start to fill up by late morning. We're hopping to Epcot for the rest of the day, then heading back to MK just to see the MSEP. Then getting back out before the mass park-closing exodus. :)

Heads up for those going near Pres. Week -- the 19th has now gone to a 10 on the prediction scale. Some other numbers from the 13th - 19th changed also, some by a whole point, so if you're not signed up for the crowd tracker updates you might want to go check.

I wish like crazy that the weather when we're there would be like we've had here for the past few days -- it's PERFECT. Around 64-65, bright shining sun, gorgeous blue cloudless sky. Just beautiful!! :goodvibes

Okay, so I'm waffling again on the online-check-in debate... I can't decide what to do. I think I did online check in last time, I honestly can't remember. I did get the building I wanted, but not as close to Classic Hall as I would have liked.

We're getting in around 1:30pm. I can't decide if it would be better to check in online so that they have my location requests a good 10 days ahead of time, or wait and check in in person on the idea that it might be easier for them to switch rooms if I don't like the location. But would there be less available to even choose from at that point? Why do I make myself nuts with this stuff?? :headache:

yesterday I started my car before my mother got here (she b-sits for me) and she goes "why do you have your car started already, it's not even cold out." So I get in my car and look at the temp -- it's 11 degrees. Lol. Sheesh, it's pretty bad when we start thinking 11 is warm. :scared1: But I'll take it over the 1 -5 degrees we've been having.

Like a PP also said -- if it's 60 in Disney, it will feel like a heatwave after this!

I hear that! We only got 6" last night and I just took my son to school (only a 2 hour delay BTW) and it's 28 F on my car's thermometer. A heat wave!! It's gotten bad when it's ONLY 6" of snow, but 50 miles south in NYC they got 15". I thought my car's thermo was broken a couple of weeks ago because I noticed that it was always 15F at 7am when we go to school.Last week when it was -12F, I knew it was working.
Last Feb. it was cold at WDW. Every year that we go I noticed in our pictures we go from shorts on day 1 to light jackets and sweatshirts by the end of the week. It's so easy to get used to the warmer temps. We swam last year with steam coming off the volcano pool it was so cold out. 80's are nice but you still have to come home some time, just like it was hard to get out of the pool last Feb.. I just want to stay dry down there, except when we're swimming, of course. No temperature is going to bother me.

Schools have been closed here for 2 days due to snow.

Can't wait to reach Florida!!

60 degrees will seem like mid-summer to us!

:rotfl:

The crowd tracker is up again for Pres week - 4 out of our 9 days are now up to 10. So, is this going to be something like Xmas week? :headache: Without the benefit of the beautiful decorations and lights. :rolleyes1

blah blah blah....I'm trying to keep the "a 10 day at disney is better than a 0 day at home"....but it's getting harder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UGH:scared1:

Just downloaded the UT app onto my android phone :cool1: this is gonna be so useful! The ride wait times don't seem bad today...
Having lunch and thinking of touring plans...

I see 80's in our forecast. Sure sounds good to me as we are under another 6 inches of snow right now, kids had another snow day!!! This has been one heck of a snow filled January!! I looked at the forecast for our fly out day and there is a 40% chance for snow!!! I am hoping there is not a delay!!!

started thinking about getting organized this weekend; last weeekend for me before we leave. I am gone next weekend scrapbooking and DH is gone ice fishing and snowmobiling this weekend. Guess we are sneaking in our mini vacations before the big one.

Everytime I pull a suitcase out and start putting things in DS (age 3) takes them out and puts in toys he told me they needed to come and meet Mickey. Guess I will be packing at night when little ones are a sleep.

I still have to go looking for the lime green Mickey's. I did finally get my DIS buttons in the mail though! Yay!!!

PM me if you dont find any LGMH. There is a Home Depot around the corner from my house. I am more than happy to clean them out of them and send them out. :woohoo:

Got our Mickey Mail last night. Our dear sweet TA included two autograph books for us. I may have to make use of them.

18 more days.. they cant go fast enough. I have started pulling everything together. I dont dare pull out the suitcases until the last minute. Our dogs will freak out if they see them. Normally it means they go to the vets office to be boarded. This time, as DS is staying home, he is taking care of the dogs, so hopefully it wont be to stressful for them.

WE HAVE 9 DAYS TO GO!!

Just had a small panic attack.

My mom was going to take us to the airport on the 13th, as she was planning on flying to Idaho that day (to visit my sister). She calls this morning and now she is flying out on the 12th, ugh.

Took a deep breath and combed the airport shuttle websites and cab fare websites. Thankfully we only live about 20 minutes from the airport and could get a shuttle for under $25.00 (there go to GM Slushies)

I was wondering how many ounces the refillable mugs that we get with the QSDP are?

We'll get 3 of them and just wondering how bulky they'll be carrying them into the parks.

You can take drinks into the parks right?

I got my welcome email from the Poly IPO today.

Aloha!

Thank you for choosing Walt Disney World as your vacation destination.
We have you arriving to Disney's Polynesian Resort within nine days and
staying in our exclusive concierge longhouse, Hawaii.

That's it. How am I going to get thru the next 9 days???
:cool1:Bring on the Mouse!:cool1:

They're 14 ounces, so like a 12-ounce can of soda and some ice. I get coffee in mine every morning to wake myself up on the bus, then rinse it out and toss it in my backpack once at a park. Then once back home, they fit beautifully in a car cup holder, so I bring my coffee in the car every day on my way to work in one. Makes me smile every commute. :goodvibes
