The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

is it easy to order the maps? how long do they take to arrive? I should get on that....

Have you all ordered your free custom maps from Disney yet?

How do you tour the parks? Do you know what ride you are going on when? Are you more laid back and go with the flow? Do you try to hit rope drop?

Originally I planned, but only our ADR's which then set the park of the day. Now we wing it. Makes it easier that we live so close now that we get to often.

Haven't really started to plan the February trip with my BFF. We've decided to go QDSP, so no ADR's (might do one to buy her a meal since she is paying for the room using her DVC points). Only plan so far is to go to Jelly Rolls, but don't even have a night planned yet.

Have a belated Anniversary trip in January planned with the DH. Three nights of Premium, so it has to be planned: 8 table service meals in 4 days (one breakfast is going to have to be counter service), 3 tours, portrait session, parasailing, and La Nouba. There is no way to not plan for a trip like that. Still need to book a carriage ride. So much work involved to go on vacation.:goodvibes

I just found out that our flights now costs $700 (for 3 of us). We paid $1500 :sad1::sad2: I didn't intend on checking, because I knew it could potentially happen but I was checking flights for a friend who is going to DW a couple weeks before us and came across this fabulous deal.

I couldn't stand not having it booked and I didn't want to risk getting crappy flights: I wanted morning flights, both ways, non-stop. Now I really regret it.

What is your airline? With Southwest you can cancel and re-book using the credit from your cancelled flights. I just did that on one recently. I dont' know if other airlines offer the same sort of deal. I'll just use the credit with another future flight....

Hello! I just discovered this thread last night and have spent the entire day reading it!!

This year, my parents decided to take the plunge and buy into the DVC. For our first DVC vacation, we are going as an entire extended familly:

Mom and Dad
Me, DH, and SS6
Sister 1 and her BF
Sister 2
Aunt

We will be going from February 6-11 and staying at the Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village, Savannah View Grand Villa! We are so excited!! My mom was able to snag nonstop flights from Rochester, NY to Orlando and nonstop back for $150 per person on Air Tran!! We will arrive into MCO on 2/6 at about 4:00 pm. I just discovered last night that we arrive on Superbowl Sunday. :scared1: The only people this will really affect are my dad and Sister 1's boyfriend.

The schedule I have laid out for my immediate family (me, DH, and SS) is:

Sunday, 2/6 - Relaxing/Exploring resort, maybe DTD
Monday, 2/7 - Magic Kingdom
Tuesday, 2/8 - EPCOT
Wednesday, 2/9 - Hollywood Studios
Thursday, 2/10 - Animal Kingdom
Friday, 2/11 - Departure from MCO is at 3:00 pm, so we will just spend the morning getting ready to leave :sad2:

I have purchased my DH a spot in the Living Seas Aqua Tour for 2/8. This is his Christmas present and he has no idea! I have had this purchased since the 180 day mark way back in August and I am so excited to give it to him. We have a 90 gallon saltwater aquarium in our living room that he maintains. DH is enamored with all things marine.

I have 2 ADRs booked, but the rest of our meals will be eaten in the Villa since we have a full kitchen. I have Coral Reef booked for an early dinner (4:00) on 2/8 after DH's Aqua Tour and Tusker House character breakfast scheduled for 2/10, our Animal Kingdom day!

I think we will be doing 4 day base tickets. I wanted to do hopper passes, but think that we will be just fine with base tickets.

This will be my 3rd trip to Disney. The first one was in 1985 when I was 4 and the second one was in 1994 when I was 12. This will be the first Disney visit for my DH and SS. I absolutely cannot wait to be escorted down Main Street by my two Prince Charmings!!

I think that's all for now! I am axiously counting down the days and have become the "official" planner for this trip. Everyone else is just along for the ride!! If anyone here has any suggestions for me, please let me know!!

Lamb- it is pretty easy to order the maps- if you need the link let me know- its on the disney trip planning site under customize maps- Make sure you use explorer as your browser (not firefox- it seems to glitch with the maps). It takes normally two weeks to get them.

Lynne- I would be FUMING. Can you call? Heck you might want to eat the cancelation fees and re-book- would still probably save you money

Street Family- HOW EXCITING! We will be at Pop from Feb 2-11th! You can always add the park hopper when you get to disney if you decide you want it! Also- since you are staying at AK I highly recommend Boma (or Jiko)- we loved it!!!

I am booked for the aqua seas tour on Feb. 8th also. It was so awesome last year that we are doing it again. We'll see him there!

congrats and welcome!! :cheer2::cheer2:

that stinks about the airfare. I wonder if there's anyway to cancel and re-book and come out ahead? I've been afraid of that happening, that's why I haven't booked ours yet! I'm holding out hope for a "deal". It's a gamble and I might end up screwing myself by paying way more than I ever dreamed. I'm just gonna give it a couple more weeks and pray it doesn't bite me in the ***.

Lynne -Ugh. Hope there is a way you can rebook and save $$$

Went to Disney in times square yesterday. It was like getting just a taste of something wonderful.

Just booked reservations for WDP for February, 2011. Looks like they've opened up the reservations for 2011.

February can't come soon enough, it is -42 degree C here today and snowing. this is a little cold for November

The Wishes Dessert Party, held at the Magic Kingdom. (Hopefully everyone here has had a chance to call now, so I think it's safe to say the name. :) ) You can Google all kinds of info and pics for it -- DS and I just love it!! The cost with tax is $23.42 per person, and you have to pay at time of booking.

Headin' down to the World Jan 29-Feb 3 for the 15th trip!!! Can't wait to see all my fuzzy eared, tail wearin' friends. Woo-Hoo!!! Is anyone else from Maine going then?
