The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

We are so excited to be planning our Feb 2011 trip to Disney. We are staying at Port Orleans French Quarter for the second year in a row.

We are Arriving Feb 4th until Feb 12th.

Does anyone know if shows times/dates are out for the parades?? I know from last year that Fantasmic doesn't show every night.

Looks like we had to adjust our dates a bit. We wanted to try to stay in the value range if possible. So Feb 2 - Feb 13 at POFQ. Here we come

We really wanted to split our stay between resorts, but the CM talked me out of it. Apparently you lose the multi day park discount if you resort hop.

pumpkin king- you can do a split stay and order a 10 day park ticket with your first reservation (and dining plan too) and then book your second part of your stay as a resort only reservation (you will have tickets left over from your first part of the stay) which means you will NOT lose the multi-day park ticket discount- however, since you dont need to buy tickets with your second resort you will not be able to purchase the dining plan for the second hotel part.....

does that make sense? The CM was wrong! People do split stays ALL the time and just get a 10 day park ticket with their first part of the stay

I just realized this the other night with the DDP and split stays....now if we want to add POP we'll do it at the end of our stay and it might not be worth it to us at this point

Hello All!

Can anyone give me feedback on the above week (February 13-18, 2011)? Has anyone gone around that time before? If so, how were the crowds, weather (which I know is hit or miss), etc.? Would the week prior be better do you think?

Also, does anyone know if anything is going on at that time next year (cheer groups, sports groups, etc) or is there a website to check for this type of stuff?

We would be staying at a value resort.

O2BNoz- before you posted some crowd levels for Feb 5-12th do you know the parks to Avoid on those dates? Are they the last park listed? Thanks!!!

DisneyFirstTimer, yes the last park is the one to avoid. I will post for the 5th to the 12th again, and the week after, so that BethR9 can compare the two. I'm no help for the events that will be going on at the time, though... sorry!

Here are the dates again, for those who missed it and don't want to read back through

The way to read the Touringplans dates is as follows: Date, crowd level number (1-10, 1 being lowest level, 10 being BUSY!!), The best parks to go to on that day (usually 2 parks or more listed, but sometimes only 1 park listed) and the last park listed is the park to AVOID.

5-6th is a dance competition at DHS (girls are staying at all stars and CBR)

11-13 is a cheerleading competition (shouldnt affect us too much- not sure where they are staying....)

We were planning on going to DHS on Sunday for Fantasmic- however, the dance competition is going to be there that day, and having a party there at night- so do you think I should switch to seeing Fantasmic on Wednesday instead?

uggg...that interferes with our plans as well! As a dance instructor myself I can tell you that it all depends on how supervised these girls will be. And as a former competitive dancer I can also tell you that they can get pretty craaazzyy I do know that whenever we attended dance competitions as children we were always well supervised.

I can't switch my fantasmic night so I don't really have another option. I may however switch my hotel now that you mention it. Perhaps to POR...I just don't want to deal with 1,000 teenage girls doing grand jete's everywhere they go lol. That is what I will be leaving behind for a week

Where do you find the info out about the events going on? I remember reading about it somewhere but cannot recall now...

The food was soo fresh and such a variety! And the characters were great I've made my adr for 2/3 at 8 am. Can't wait to eat there. As soon as you guys are done eating head right to the safari ride. Early morning is the best time to see all the animals
