THANK YOU "PRINCESSLILY" for getting this thread started for us all! Sad to see ya leave us February go'ers but hope you have a GREAT time in MAY! :goodvibes

:hug:Thank you everyone! I appreciate the positive feedback on my trip plan!

LilandVisma, we went to HDDR in 2008 and loved it! I wanted to do something different this time, which is why I'm considering Backyard BBQ, but I'm really not sure. I've heard mixed reviews, and since it will be early March, I'm just not sure. I've also heard that La Nouba is extraordinary, but it's EXPENSIVE! I'm still really struggling with that. And yes, I decided that we absolutely NEED to do Fantasmic. How can I be a disboarder and NOT see it! :lmao:

Jolene, you are right that you will hve so many things to do with the Disney parks alone. When we went in 2008, we had a week (which included 2 days of travel back and forth) and each of our days was spent at one of the Disney parks. It was a WONDERFUL trip, but there wasn't any time for anything else. This time, I figure that we are spending the same amount to get down there, we might as well stay a few days longer and try to do a couple of other things. I don't think this will be a yearly event (budget will not allow that) so I want to make my husband's trip well worth it! I'm sure I'll be taking my son again in the future, but it wouldn't surprise me if my husband opted out for future trips.

Thanks for adding me to the front page, LilandVisma!!

I'm getting really nervous about my ADR's. I can't book until the end of the month, and I went into the online site yesterday and looked up some of my choices for the beginning of February and there are limited times. If I can't get Chefs De France before our Illuminations Cruise, I will cry!:sad2:

Does anyone have an idea of when I would need to book our dinner to be able to have enough time to get to the Illuminations Cruise? 2 hours in advance seem time enough?

Thank you! You're all GREAT!!

Dee

MomTwoBoys..... almost forgot to add, I don't think you need to worry about FREEZING weather in February. Most report that you can still wear shorts during the day, but might want to have a sweatshirt or something in case it gets a 'little' chilly in the evenings. Unless it's a freak weather situation, I don't think you will have any problems!

Glad you're joining our "Team Disney" :cool1:

Also, I love the idea of a Dis Meet while I'm there.... I think Maineiac and I are the only ones there at the end of Feb/early March, so far. Maybe you should just all STAY until we get there... then we can ALL meet! :rotfl2:

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed HDDR :) We have never been. I hope someone here can give you more info about the cruise and timing! I won't be seeing a cruise for quite some time as my kiddos are still quite young :headache: LOL

Mandy,
Hoop Dee Doo Review was fun! You will enjoy it, but I have to say that I think my son would have enjoyed it a lot more if he had been a bit older. He was 4 at the time and a lot of it went over his head. He enjoyed the music and the singing, but some of the jokes (which are corny but cute) were not of interest to him. The food was good, our waiter was fine and the performers were excellent. We had Tier 1 seating and we were right by the singers when they performed in the middle of the floor.

I am wondering if I'm "jumping the gun" by considering "La Nouba". My son will be 6 when we go and I'm just not sure. I think he would be mesmerized, but I have never been there so who knows!? :confused3

I'm doing CRT because I want to embarrass my husband by celebrating his birthday with the princesses (he will actually LOVE it!) and also, with my son being 6, it won't be too long before he will refuse to do that sort of thing.

I definitely over-plan, so I think about it in my mind and turn it into a "perfect scenario" which of course can NEVER happen in real life. I'm trying not to let my brain do that this time. Have to keep in mind being tired, not having great food every meal, maybe not the best waiters, having to wait in lines, weather, bad moods, health issues (I hope not!) etc...

But... a BAD day at Disney, is better than ANY day at home!!!:wizard: :thumbsup2

Ok, now we are considering staying at POP for 2 nights and then CBR for 6 nights/7 days (in hopes of the buy 4 get 3 deal).. I have to cancel my ressie for POP and change it to CBR...almost 100% on the decision but want to give it one more day of thought until I do!

Yep, I hear ya! I'm jotting down all this info in my lil notebook about what to do for the days we are down there and then I have to stop myself because I just want to be laid back a bit more this time. We've basically seen everything now and this trip I want to lose the anxiety with things and RELAX :) I remember the first night of our trip last year I had everything planned right down to the last minute and my DD ended up breaking out in hives EVERYWHERE right before our Kona ressie...lol, thank goodness the gift shop there sells Benadryl :)

Not sure about the show...I don't think my daughter at 8 would really enjoy or appreciate "La Nouba". I'm sure we'd run into some complaining about something half way into it lol. If you think he'd enjoy it I say go for it. You can always wait too! At least we have time on our side to think about things right? :)

Dee

We had 5:30pm dinner reservations at Yachtsman for an 8pm Illuminations Cruise on the Breathless. IPO at Polynesian recommended 5:30 for the 8pm cruise. We had plenty of time to check in for the cruise.

That sounds like a great plan!! DBF and I debated on staying in a mod but decided not to since its our first stay and we'll either be in the parks or checking out the other resorts. We're hoping for the 4/3 deal too! Though a % off PIN may end up being a better deal since tickets are soooo cheap to add days. We'll see! I'll be glad to get any great deal :)

February 20-26 at Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas. We will be at Jumbo House.

don't know how i missed this thread! 2 weeks feb 11-25th at blt studio. this will be our third trip in 18 months. i think we're spoiling the kids a bit, but they're only young once!

Add us to the list. Our first trip ever Jan 29-Feb 5. Staying at Pop Century. It will be myself, dh, and dd3. I am soo excited I can hardly stand it. Who cares about xmas I just want disney!!

I totally agree with you on your decision. I don't even remember using the pool the last time we were there as it was our first trip in almost 10 years and the girls had never been there either...just too much we wanted to do and see. We got a lot accomplished that week but boy it was BUSY :)

I'm dying to find out WHAT deal is going to be offered! Supposedly mid august they are going to announce....

Just added you too! Welcome!

And LOL, I'm feeling the same way...BUT I also have to explain a smaller Xmas this year to the kids( in order to go to Disney) :rolleyes1

ADR's in 2 days! We have FINALLY finalized our list and now there is no turning back ;)

What do you all think?

2/2-Arrival by flight in morning, MK by 1ish...eat wherever, maybe Cosmic Rays??
2/3-AK, late BF @Tusker House, Dinner @ Kona Cafe around 6:30
2/4- DD's 9th bday, surprising her with our CBR stay and Pirate Cruise 9:30-11:30, hopefully arrive @ Epcot after, Lunch @ LeCellier (oop) around 2, Dinner @ Akershush around 7:30 (Epcot is open till midnight this night which is why were were aiming for a late Dinner)
2/5-RELAX at resort, swim, DTD later...dinner @Pucks around 5
2/6-HS, MM Fantasmic pkg??
2/7- MK, Dinner at Ohana 5pm
2/8-Epcot, france lunch around 1 (oop) and GG dinner around 6
2/9-Ohana BF early (oop) MK day, CP dinner around 5.
2/10-resort till checkout, dtd for WPE, departure evening

So, does it looks like it makes sense?

We are going to book a room only ressie for POP or movies for the first two days. Not going to tell our DD's about the pirate room we just booked last night for 2/4-2/10 :) So with that we are also going to add dining and the who package eventually...Basic dining for 6 nights and I'm going to use it for CP, GG, Ohana, MM (if we decide to do this, not sure how it works!), Pucks and Akershush.

We are choosing to do the basic dining plan...with the kids being so young and upgrading to a mod it just makes the most sense for us this time.

I am right there with you! We went twice in 2009 for their first and second trip this year we are going in September coming home and getting ready to go back in Nov/Dec then heading back in February. It will be a rush of Disney fun!!! :)

I am hoping they will always be able to look back and say we were so lucky our parents took us to disney a lot!!
