The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

On hold with Disney reservations to make our FINAL PAYMENT!!!:cool1: Been on hold for a while, but it's all good...Disney music is entertaining me!!! Only 30 days till our Polynesian Dream!!!:cheer2:

I said that I would post pics of the shirts that I made.
There are directions on the creativedis boards.. They were very simple to make. I made some mistakes and there are some bleach blotches, but it was fun to do with my DD (8). She made all her own and I did her brothers. I also made some for DH and I!

It was pretty easy. The hardest part is keeping the bleach off the other areas of the shirt when you are rinsing it off. I read somewhere to spray with vinegar and water. Do this after you rinse it though or the bleach starts to run like in this shirt

SO? less than 20 days to go and I am VERY excited.. I have started packing and getting very anxious! Hoping that snow doesn't prevent us from leaving this frigid state and I am PRAYING that the weather warms up down there in Florida. I have several friends there now and they are FREEZING!

I am sorry some are big and some are small - I haven't figured out how to make them all smaller? They look small on my photobucket page? Hmmm?

SO cute!!!! Love those shirts, y'all are going to be just adorable in them!

Amber I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you guys!!!!! I totally understand how stressful this situation is for you :sad2:

it's too early for me to start obsessively checking the Orlando weather, but I just took a peak at their 10 day forecast. Looks good to me! Sunny and 64-78

Hello everyone,

well the snow has started here, supposed to get 5-10cm/day for the next 4 days. the one good thing about the snow it usually warms up a bit been sitting aroun -25 to -35 degreeC for the last couple of days.

went to the Bill Engval, Jeff Foxworthy, and Larry the cable guy last night in Calgary and i have to say if you have a chance go see the show i haven't laughed so hard for 2 1/2hrs my throat hurts and i am alittle horse this morning (wife is happy) but what an awsome show

30 more days until sunshine and warmth

we are having the most beatiful sunrise it is so purply-pink. Unfortunately if we see the sun that means very cold weather.

Scrappin- Love the rosa regale!

Gina- Love the grand marnier slushie- it went well with my ham and cheese crossiant

Npierce- we are at the wave on saturday at 6:15pm- hmmm maybe we can meet up to say hello in the MK before dinner! I have a 5yo ds and a 2 yo dd

Lynne- yes, Illuminations (not fantasmic lol) Fireworks- we are open! Last time we watched them from the international gateway- right in front of the fence by the water- it was AWESOME and we were able to get out quickly

Amber- sending you tons of pixie dust

Danielle- they are so cute!

Ron- you must convert for me- my brain stopped working once I had kids so- how many inches is 5-10 cm?, and whats -25c in farenheit? Darn us americans lol

I'm with you Ron! It's ridiculous that it has been snowing EVERY DAY (for our U.S. friends, the 10 cm of snow (PER DAY!!) is about 4 inches - so yep, we've had about 12 inches of snow over the past 4 days, and we're supposed to get another 6 - 8 inches over the next couple of days. Yuck! AND -25 Celsius is about -13 F....in other words, cold enough to make you want to MOVE to Florida!

It's getting closer and closer - and I actually started assembling my 'trip binder' from all of the information gathered over the past few months (it's going to be thick!

You guys have all been so awesome on this thread - it is by far my favorite thread; on so many others things turn nasty etc and you guys have been just a pleasure!

Joining in!! We are taking a long weekend for our "babymoon" from February 4th - February 7th. I can't wait! This will be our first time back to the Polynesian in 15 years!! Keeping our fingers crossed for some warm weather and the cold spell to end down there! :goodvibes

We did go in February in 2008 and it was sunny and 75 degrees all day and at night it was pretty chilly. Hoping for the same thing this time!!

Scrappin- Love the rosa regale!
Rosa Regale! I had asked a while ago what wines are served in the Italy Pavillion on another board. It was quickly buried. We loved that stuff. I bought a bottle for Thanksgiving this year because I thought it was what we bought in Epcot. I guessed correctly. It is really good. I like sweeter wines. I'm gonna have to get a couple of bottles for the room when I get there.
Three more weeks!!

Happy Friday all!! I am so ready for the weekend... Been a crazy week here at work. I am going to do a trial packing run, to make sure I can cram everything into one big suitcase. Our trips have only been for about 5 days for the past bunch of years, so I haven't had to pack for 9 days in a long time. I'd like to avoid having to do laundry in the middle of our trip, too. Going to try and just pack several mix-n-match pieces for each of us and try not to get dirty or sweaty. :thumbsup2

Still no Mickey mail for me. :( Is there anyone else who hasn't gotten it yet who is going the same time as me? (Arrive on the 11th) I hope they didn't forget me!

Amber ~ I sure have my fingers crossed for you! Hope it all works out!!

Here's my question of the day for everyone: If you could drive right up/have the plane land right in front of one ride in any of the parks, so that you could ride it the nanosecond you get to WDW, which one would it be?

Ron - We saw Larry a few years ago, loved him! I would like to see them all together. :rotfl:

Amber - sending good thoughts your way!!!

DisWishes720 - Congrats all the way around!!

Hope everyone has a good day. Looking forward to the 3 day weekend. Finally picked up the Unoffical Guide, so that will be the bulk of my weekend.

Our little Murphy has weiner dog races this weekend, last time she took 3rd, wish us luck. Zelda is not able to race this month as she just got spayed yesterday and is in a cone of shame for 7 days.

ps my ticker looks off.. according to my countdown on my calander we are 29 days out!

I still haven't received anything. I am leaving on the 5th. I don't have to worry about it for another 2 weeks.

No mickey mail for me either. :sad2: I am trying to be patient, trying.....

28 days or 4 weeks and we will be in the world! The excitement is building! :yay:

Rosa Regale is my absolute favorite - it is on the sweeter side, my friends that are more of the chardonnay type don't like it. I typically drink Pinot Grigio as my white wine of choice...& this is perfect!!

Hands down Splash Mountain!!!! - it is our traditional first ride we sing Zippity all day lone!!!

Made my final final payment today FINALLY! - I was holding off till the last second.

Danielle - I adore those shirts! Great job!

AMber - I hope it works out for you & hubby. Tossing tons of pixie dust your way!

I remember 6 months ago when I was just getting ready to book and now it's almost here!! :yay:

Gina, I'm also having a suitcase dilemma! We went to Vegas last year for 5 days (just DH and I) and we barely had enough of one suitcase! Now we have DD as well, and I only have 2 suitcases (one of which is carry-on size - the maximum) so we NEED to fit all our stuff for 6 days into these 2 suitcases! I am bringing a single use pouch of Tide and though I don't want to, I will likely do a load of laundry on our 3rd day - either at night or during a mid-day break (especially if we sweat a lot).

Does anyone know if the laundry room is open 24 hours?

Rosa Regale sounds wonderful! My wine of choice is usually a Gewurtz or Pinot Grigio so this is right up my alley!

No Mickey mail here either. We are set to get in on the 13th.

As far as what ride? Big Thunder, hands down. Its my fav at both DLR and WDW. If we going park, Epcot, just because Epcot is AMAZING and our favorite park.

DisWishes720 - Congrats all the way around!!

Thank you!! :goodvibes

I do believe that laundry rooms are open 24 hours, you will just need your key to get in at some resorts.

If I could be dropped of anywhere in the parks to ride a ride (assuming I am not preggo and can go on anything I want :goodvibes) it would have to be TOT. We are obsessed!!

Here's another question for everyone...what are you planning on packing for touring the parks at night?? Do you think we should bring a winter jacket? :confused3

No winter jacket for me! I don't usually wear a winter jacket over 32 degrees so I'm just bringing one fleece sweater and one hoodie to layer. For DD I'm bringing the same plus one aditional sweater to layer underneath.
