We are booked for Feb 15-20 at Pop Century... I too am a obsessed planner. Been lurking here for years. Finally decided it was time to join the ranks! I am taking my daughter (10), my mother has invited herself, and also my aunt. Should be fun, but wasn't planning on two other adults. My DM doesn't "get" the planning part of the trip. She thinks I am nuts.

So glad to be where other people understand my lunatic tendencies towards Disney!! I have been twice before, but i was twenty years younger and with school. My first trip as the planner and adult!!!! Daughters first trip as well as a complete surprise for her. Been planning this trip for about two years as I am a single mom. Can't wait!!!!

Has anyone shipped a package to the resort? I'm thinking of maybe sending down a package with snacks, breakfast food, etc. in it before we arrive. I've packed it in the suitcase before but with the weight limits and us needing to pack such a variety of clothes for this trip, I thought it might save us some room.

If you have shipped something, how much did it cost roughly? Was it worth it? I was thinking of priority shipping where you can do the flat rate boxes but not sure how much or how big the boxes are.

Was the box in good shape when it did arrive?

Welcome!! We'll be at Pop for part of that time, the 11th - 19th. Bunch of us there around the same dates -- we seriously need to have some sort of mini-DIS-meet! Just a quick little get-together, you know? I'll post a topic for it on the FB page so we don't clutter this up here.

And yay for you taking this trip with your DD -- what great memories you are going to make! I'm a single mom too, and DS and I have been going on our own since he was just turning 4. He's 14 now, and we have more fun every trip, though that never seems possible. We forgo most other luxuries so that we can take our trips, and it's worth every nickel I make scream.

We have often traveled with my dad and my aunt to WDW, and the best advice I can give you is to build some time into your itinerary for just you and your daughter, and let your mom and aunt go do something they want to do. Meet up again later for dinner or something, and share your stories. You and your daughter will appreciate the time for just the two of you. At least, that has been our experience.

there's a whole thread on the REsort board about shippnig to your resort. I've been thinking about the same thing but after reading the thread, it seems a lot of people also order from Gardengrocer.com. That seems like a lot less work to me and it's only a $12 delivery fee (free if over $200)

Finally have my ADR's in stone. DH says I am not allowed to change them again and has hidden my notebook for dining.

Booked the UnDiscovered Future World Tour, since hubby is an Epcot fan. Nothing more to book untill they say that they are going to do the Wishes Dessert Party in 2011.

Anyone have any good ideas on what to do to keep the excitement alive?

Hi all! I know I have been MIA for a while. I have been super busy with the kids, and life in general. I am hoping that flight prices start to drop soon- freaking me out that they are so high. Thank goodness we have a few more months until I really start to worry. What else is new with everyone?

We had a big box full of cereal, bowls, lysol wipes, ponchos, special secret surprises for our little one, and a bunch of other things. It cost me about 18.00 to send it from Rochester, NY to AKL. Which for me wasn't to bad seeing as how the airlines charge 25.00 per bag now! So I actually saved some money. The box when we picked it up from the concierge looked exactly the same as when I sent it! I was pretty thrilled actually! I am definitely considering doing it again when we go this Feb!

I'm in the same boat, Alli. I usually have my airfare booked by now, but no way am I booking at the current fares!! I've never paid $600 for the both of us to get to Orlando in my life. In December I only paid half that. Airtran has started putting out sale fares for a few weeks before we go, though... so I'm hopeful sales will start showing up for our dates soon! *fingers crossed*

Wow, I've totally been MIA over the past week and I apologize for not getting the list updated sooner! It should be all updated now guys, sorry.

My daughter started school this week and my other daughter is dealing with a perforated eardrum that guess what, still hasn't healed! So tomorrow morning we go to the ENT in Freeland to figure out what to do. They are talking about surgery to patch the hole AND tubes to prevent future blockage as her "good" ear is all blocked. She also is going to have to have a hearing test now as well... I don't know how this happened but I feel that mommy guilt coming on now I had no idea her ears were even blocked and they said that when she fell while trying to get out of the bathtub it might have pushed the blockage out and perforated the drum! My poor little lady To top it all off she hasn't really been complaining of pain except at night and in the morning. Such a tough cookie!

Apart from that I have been back and forth with my health issues now as well, finally getting into the surgeon next week to get my dang gallbladder taken care of. I also have some other issues going on as well which I hope to get answers about via bloodwork drawn this morning .... Either way we are looking at two surgerys (most likely) within the next few weeks here and its pretty overwhelming.

Good Lord I have already wrote a novel, sorry guys but I needed to vent and this is where it is ending up! LOL

Anyways, back to the good stuff...Disney

Like so many of you I am so thankful to have that to look forward to, esp when things start getting a bit chaotic around here! The bills are paid once again this month and since we live "debt free" it doesn't leave us with much spending money left sometimes. I LOATHE bills. If only we didn't have to pay them! Grrrrr...

Disney on Ice is coming here in 2 weeks and its only $10 on opening night Hubby just so happens to have that day off of work so I am going to be taking the girls to the show that evening! I haven't told them yet but am soooo excited myself! I haven't been to a show in a LONG time. I LOVE stuff like this. Beauty and the Beast is also coming here soon as well. I figure it's small little things we can do to try and get into the disney mood here
