The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

I have my days planned all wrong. ;)

I guess we can deal with the crowds, cant be as bad as it was in July

Ugh...after reading that I keep telling myself the same. Nothing can be as bad as June and July when the parks are jam packed with those tour groups!! February should be a piece of cake compared to that!!!

Hope everyone has a good weekend! Mine is starting off LOVELY with my DS waking up at the crack of dawn this morning thinking its time to get up and play!! LOL, I'm exhausted but keep chugging along....guess that is what us mommies do ;)

I am thinking it is time the kids and I start having monthly countdown nights for our February stay. I love the thread here about disney theme nights. I think I am going to go get a disney classic from the library though. They haven't seen a lot of the movies that are referenced throughout the park... I can think of Dumbo and Peter Pan off the top of my head. And I don't know if Pinocchio is in the park but they haven't seen that one and it is a good one. And Robin Hood. Can't forget Robin Hood... So many choices....

And abot strollers. Ugh. Story about last time if you will.......

I bought a stroller on clearance for 75 or so. It's one of those side by siders, it can also be used as a bike trailer :thumbsup2 We pack it first in the minivan to go. Load up the car and we're good to go. Sucker folded up pretty flat so we were happy. Get to Disney... unload the car... err.. I never packed the detachable handle.:guilty: So we went to Target and bought two umbrella strollers, $10 each. :cool2: I might just save myself the grief and bring two umbrellas again. Easy to fold to get on the buses and I didn't care if anyone accidentally strolled off with them.

(And a follow up on the stroller... on ride home, wheel got slammed in the hatch somehow. Still haven't ordered a replacement part. Everytime I do laundry I stare at it and think I wish I just bought two umbrella strollers in the first place. :headache: :rotfl: )

And so concludes my morning novel :rotfl:

I know that no matter what it will be so much fun!

I am glad I can get that out here. My family (Mom, DH, DS) are already sick of hearing me talk about all this stuff.

i am thinking of again changing one of the ADR's to the Fantasmic dinner. I saw the FL version just over 3 years ago, but was greatly distracted by all the brazillian tour groups, gotta love July in WDW. :rotfl:

well, got all the ADRs that I wanted. Now that I have that out of the way, what will I obsess over? :confused3 I guess I can concentrate on Xmas/Disney trip shopping for the next few months and then move on to our touring plan/itineraries.

My ADRS:

2/24 - T-Rex for dinner (DTD)
2/25 - Tusker House Donald's Safari breakfast (AK)
2/25 - Chef Mickey's for Dinner
2/26 - Askerhus Princess Breakfast (EP)
2/27 - Cinderella Royal Table for Dinner
2/28 - Coral Reef (EP) for dinner
3/1 - Hollywood & Vine play & Dine for Lunch (HS)
3/2 - Crystal Palace character breakfast (MK)

that uses up all our TS credits (except TRex - not on dining plan) so the rest will be counter service meals. We'll be at Universal parks 3/3 and 3/4 so I had to squeeze all our DDP meals into the first week.

Now, to worry about DH's new job. He starts next week (teaching) and I've prepared myself for the fact that they're going to say he can't take a whole week off. :sad1: I'm HOPING they will be ok with him taking a few days off (2 or3) and so he'll just have to go home 2-3 days early (our trip begins during Feb. vacation so he's ok for those first few days but school starts up on 2/28). Then I just have to convince my sister to come down for the second half in his place. She'll stay in our room so won't have to pay for a hotel and she'll have the rest of DH's meal plan credits to use (mostly just the counter service and snacks) so will also get some free meals too. And for her Xmas present this year, we'll give her a Disney gift card to put towards it, lol.

Gina-
Sorry to hear that your morning started off pretty lousy :( I just got back from the doc with my 3 year old and it turns out her eardrum perforated:scared1: She's such a tough girl!

The original thread was not started by me. I offered to keep the list updated after the OP changed her plans on when she was going to be visiting. I don't think there is a way I can update the original thread but I could PM her and ask if she could edit the first post to say "updated list on pg. 11". Let me know if there is another way around that!

Poor baby!! How is your DD doing now?
I didn't even realize someone different had started the list -- you rock for taking it over and keeping it updated for us!! I bookmarked that page so I'll know where it is now. :)

That's a great idea! DS and I have family night every Wednesday. At 14, it's hard to get him away from guitars, texting his girlfriend, etc., but that one hour each week is solely ours. We have a few things in a bowl -- "watch tv", "watch Netflix," "play Wii", and "Disney planning." We take turns drawing each week, and that person gets to choose the specific show/game/etc. But once we get to double-digit countdown, every Saturday night becomes Disney Planning Night. :-) We reminisce about past trips and make lists of things we want to do/re-do this next time. Planning and anticipation is half the fun!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! It was the first football game Friday night for the high school, and my son's first time to march at a real game. He had a ball, and they totally annihilated the other team. And then my Texans ran all over the Cowgirls yesterday!!!! AWESOME football weekend. :yay: :woohoo: :cheer2:

Ugh....change of plans again over here. After reading crowd levels till I'm blue in the face we have switched a few things around. Our schedule will be as follows...
2/2-Arrive at MCO around 9:30, hope to be at MK by 1ish, Dinner at Ohana 7 turn in early after.
2/3-HS, MM at 3:40 (f pkg.), snack later if needed or eat at Pop.
2/4-DTD early for WPE breakfast, BBB @9:30 for DD's 9th bday get her and her sissy all purty then head over to Epcot per my daughters request as this is our FAV park :) Onto Akershus lunch at 12:15, probably snack a little through Epcot until our Dinner ressie at LeCellier at 7:30 (late but its ok my kids go to bed late and there are also EMH from 9-12 tonight.
2/5-AK, Tusker House @ 8am, most likely flame tree for dinner.
2/6-DTD early for shopping then WPE for lunch & grab some Earl of Sandwhich for later since we are just planning on chillin at pop.
2/7-MK, breakfast who knows where lol, Dinner @ Crystal P 4:15
2/8-HS- scifi oop @ 12:30 ( I have pixar obsessed children so they want to do HS for two days ??!!)
2/9-Epcot again, France lunch @ 12, Garden Grill @5:45
2/10- ???? Ohana BF???? MK, early dinner/late lunch CS, have to be back for flight out by 5ish I'd assume (8:45 flight out).

We want to do Ohana BF on the 10th, but MK has EMH from 8-9...so how will this be possible if we are checking out that day as well? I was thinking we could get to MK by 8 and then maybe make a later BF ressie for Ohanas?? Or should I just make an early ressie and then do MK afterwards?? Uggghh I wish I could just make up my mind! I seriously may need a good therapy session here after all of this planning ;)

Guys does this look doable? Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?? We are planning to pay OOP for Tusker and Ohana breakfast and possibly sci fi. Wait..I haven't even counted my credits again! goodness.......!!!

LOL @ the therapy idea... I've been told on more than one occasion that I need therapy for my "Disney thing." Birds of a feather flock together, though, and I'm just glad I have all my fellow Disney nuts here! :goodvibes

I would do exactly what you already thought of -- Be at MK and through the gates at 8 for EMH. By 10-ish, you will have done most or all of what you wanted to do on an EMH morning, and the crowds will be starting to grow. Great time to leave! Breakfast at 'Ohana is until 11:00, so you could make an ADR for somewhere in the 10:45-11 range. It won't take you but a few minutes to hop on the monorail to the Poly.

That's what we would do! I definitely wouldn't do 'Ohana and then MK on an EMH morning -- it would be way too crowded by the time you got there.

Just my .02!

I just need a little reassurance...it doesn't help that I am insanely indecisive to begin with!

I've got to STOP this obsessing but how do I do it? LOL...

I was thinking we could get whatever FP's we want early that morning and do a little bit of finishing up on what we didn't get to do earlier in the week as well. If my flight leaves at 8:45 I should leave MK by when?? 5 or 4:30? *If* we extend our trip into the 11th all my problems could be solved LOL. DH isn't sure if he can swing that much vacation time since some of it was used for the birth of our bubba this past April. I totally forgot about that big event

I remember before I even got pregnant with him, we had just gotten back from Disney and I told DH we were either going back to Disney or having another baby. Guess my fertility decided for me on that one...we got back in July and I was pregnant by August !! :rotfl:

I'm just gonna add the extra day onto our trip...DH just let me know of personal hours he has as well!!!!!

Me, my DBF and DS9 are going to WDW & USO - IOA:

Pop Century - February 11 - 15
WL - February 15 - 17
RP - February 17 - 18

This will be the very first time to WDW and USO for DBF. We will be celebrating the 10th birthday of DS. So excited, I can't wait!

Huzzah! the more days the better IMHO

I dont know how you moms out there brave it with the multipul kids.

My DS is 18, i keep asking him if he wants to go and he keeps saying no. :sad2:

I hope someone can answer this for me.

We have the DDP, never had it before. So making my reservations, which I am "done" with, and messing around with them is new to me.

I am thinking of switching Teppan Edo (originally 2/17) to 2/16 for dinner. AS, on 2/17 Fantasmic is showing at Hollywood Studios. I know this means the studios will be packs, oh well.

Is it possible to get the Fantasmic Dinner Package with the dining plan or will I need to pay out of pocket?

Thanks for any help!!

It is so nice to have found this thread. I think my mom is about to strangle me becuase I keep obsessing about everything for our trip.

I do however think I have my ADR's squared away. With not being on the dining plan this time I do not have a TS scheduled everyday and I like that. I also like that all our TS meals are lunches.

2/6- Arrival day no ADR
2/7- Liberty Tree Tavern @ 12:30pm
2/8- 50's Prime Time Cafe @ 12:30pm
2/9- Donald's Safari Breakfast @ 10:15am
2/10- Le Cellier @ 11:35am
2/11- Kona Cafe @ 1:45pm (My birthday!!!)
2/12- No ADR
2/13- The Plaza Restuarant @ 2pm
2/14- Chefs de France @ 12:20pm
2/15- Kouzzina @ 10:5am (departure day)

Same with my DH. He is not the lEAST bit interested in hearing about our plans. He just wants to wake up on that day in February and go, without knowing any of the details. Whenever I tried to talk to him about our ADRs he was like "I am NOT going to think about where & what I will be eating 6 months from now!" Party pooper. :sad2:

IDK, Disney has always had appeal to us, including DH. This will be our first time with 3 but so far it's not much different with two, mostly because our older DD is very independent and at 8 1/2 she pretty much does things for herself. Hubby does a lot with our 3 year old and DS is just kinda here for now. Now, if I had my children one after the next I probably wouldn't go until they were a bit older...but our spacing seems to be OK I think.

Fantasmic Pkg. can be used with the dining plan. H&V and MamaMelrose is 1ts and brown derby is 2. We chose MM's. You won't be disappointed in the show, its incredible :) We love that too!

I think I'm about to strangle myself to tell you the truth:rotfl:

And good choice for your bday dinner! We really enjoy Kona, my DD requested to go there for her bday but I think she'll enjoy my plans for her just as much :)

Very exciting!! Welcome :)

wow 10 years old! My DD will be turning 9 on our trip and it seems as though it was only yesterday that I was bringing her home from the hospital in the middle of a wonderful MI snow storm.

I'm kind of at a standstill now. Now that the flights are booked, everything is in check. Now we just wait. . . .

On second thought, I should start on DD's costume. I'm making her a Tinkerbell outfit (green tutu skirt, green body suit and wings). If I get brave, I may even go for a Cinderella dress! I'm a total novice at sewing but we'll see what I can come up with!

Would love to see what you come up with :)
