I thought I would start a thread for all of us CVS ECB'ers. I never knew you could actually SAVE money there until I really started paying attention to the sales and rolling my ECB's towards the next week of good sales. Lately there has been several threads asking questions and posting what great deals people have gotten so I thought I would try to get 1 thread going and keep it going weekly with everyone chipping in with what deals they have gotten, any questions people might have, etc.

Lets get the Deals rolling and help each other out ::yes:: I will try to update the big specials weekly. Most of the specials they are usually mfg coupons out there that will add to you savings so the big specials will either end up being free or even make you money!

Page 4 - post #51 is basic information on how the Extra Care Program works :thumbsup2

Great idea! :thumbsup2

My favorite deal this week is the Viactiv vitamins - either glides or chewables, multi-vitamin or calcium - on sale for $5.99. This week's paper had coupons for $1 off glides and $1 off chewables. Plus, you get $5.99 back per item purchased!

So, I bought 1 glides, 1 chewables, used $2 in coupons, and in 2 days I'll go back to get 1 glides, 1 chewables, use my sister's $2 in coupons, and my $5.99 and $5.99 ECBs! (The limit is 5 offers per customer, the ad says.)

And then in two more days I'll have $5.99 and $5.99 in ECBs again! :)

Here are my last 2 transactions. I have 2 CVS cards - 1 for me/1 for DH so 2x the fun! Things marked with * are a 2nd transaction as deodorant & Excedrin offers were limited to 1 per customer.

3/2/07=

Paid 14.55
Getting Back ECB’s 20.00 (4 ECB's for every 3 purchased)

Excedrin* – 1-100 ct/1-50 ct/1-24 ct 21.05 no mfg then 20.00 ECB

Total 107.99
Coupons -23.19
CVS ECB’s -42.00
Paid OOP 42.44
Getting Back ECB’s 62.99

The only reason I had to pay this much OOP is because I just started the 2nd CVS card (DH's) this week and I didn't have any ECB's yet to roll over so this is the initial investment for that card. I now have over $30 in ECB's on each card for future purchases!

Can someone post a link to the ECB offers?

Here is the link to an overview of the Extra Care Buck Program. http://www.cvs.com/CVSApp/cvs/gateway/extracarehome

To view current offers you can browse through the ad in your local store or online. Some of this weeks (3/4) are:

Aussie hair products 2/6.00 get back $2 LIMIT 2
Infusium hair products 2/10.00 get back $2 LIMIT 1
Viactiv Multivitamins 5.99 get back 5.99 LIMIT 5
Colgate Total Clean Toothpaste 2.99 get back 2.99 LIMIT 1
Excedrin, Doans, and a couple more meds - purchase $20+ get back $20 LIMIT 1
Swiffer/Mr. Clean/Febreeze Products - purchase $10+ get back $5 LIMIT 1
Old Spice/Secret Deodorant - 2.99 get back 2 LIMIT 1

You can save additional $$$ (if not make money) by using mfg coupons at the time of initial sale!

The Viactiv deal is a great one. Please check the expiration date on the chews though. On another coupon board more than one person had reported getting expired chews and had to return them.

I posted this on the "What did you do today to save money thread" but I will repost it here to help out.

I just got back from my CVS and Walgreens trip.

Walgreens
Fructis Hairspray 3.99
Kotex Pads 16 ct. 3.49
Kotex Pads 16 ct. 3.49
Kotex Pads 16 ct. 3.49
Kotex coupon -$1 off 2
Total $13.46
I used a Walgreens gift card that I had from a previous months Rebate deals, so OOP = $0.00
PLUS I will get $3.99 back in rebate for the Fructis AND another $10 gift card for the Kotex.

CVS:
I have to do many transactions because my store will only allow 1 ECB per purchase. I follow their rules and go through however many times. I also get one order together, go through line, then get next order together, go through line again, etc. I hate to do multiple transactions at once when other people are waiting.

Order 1:
Swiffer Wet Jet 12 ct. pads $3.49
Swiffer Wet Jet 12 ct. pads $3.49
Swiffer Wet Jet Liquid refill $3.49
Pantene conditioner TRIAL SIZE .99
Pantene conditioner TRIAL SIZE .99
Swiffer wet jet coupon -.50
CVS ECB -$10
Total $1.95 + .18 tax = $2.13
I will get $5 ECB for the Swiffer stuff and $2 for the Pantene. There is a monthly deal for Pantene - buy 2 Pantene, get $2 ECB. And the trial size conditioners are working.

Order #2:
Excedrin Sinus 4.99
Excedrin Sinus 4.99
Excedrin Tension headache 4.99
Excedrin Migrane 4.99
Colgate Total Advance Clean Toothpaste 2.99
Excedrin coupon -$1
Excedrin coupon -$1
Colgate total coupon -.75
CVS ECB - $20

Total .20 + .04 tax, so it cost me OOP .24!

I will get $20 ECB for the Excedrin and $2.99 for the Colgate

Order 3:
Revlon Lipstick $6.99
Revlon Lipstick $6.99
Revlon lipstick BOGO - $6.99 (Sunday and Monday only)
CVS ECB -$6.99

Total = .00

The Lipstick actually rang up $7.49, but the tag on the shelf said $6.99. I told the manager who was ringing me up and he went and looked and saw it said $6.99 and gave it to me for that price!

Order 4: (Actualy this was my first transaction, I did this just so that the ECB would print out so I could do the other transactions.)
Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower cleaner refill $4.49
Coupon for Free Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower cleaner refill -$4.49
OOP = .00

I got this coupon for emailing the Scrubbing bubbles website asking why my automatic shower cleaner did not come with a rack like I saw on the commercials (apparently I bought an older model??). And they sent me the free coupon for my "trouble".

OOOH. I just realized I forgot to use the $3 off $15 coupon from our newspaper at CVS. Oh well. I was going to go back later this week once my ECB print out and get the Dove Pro Age deal and maybe the Dove Vitalizer deal. I will use it then.

Maggie

Question Maggiew. You have listed 4 Excedrine products at 4.99 each. Thought you had to spend 20.00 in Excedrin. Does CVS get that exact or will they let 4 cents slide?

They will round up. They just started doing this recently. It seems they will round up from .60 and above. I usually try to get it within .10 or so, just to be sure.

Maggie

I was wondering the same thing when I saw the post on the other board...not sure if I am brave enough to try that - I might go for the Excedrin in the counts the other poster did.

Liz

I wanted to make sure tht I went over the $20 this week as well so I bought the 100ct. Excedrin PM (for DH) for $10.79 and the 100 ct. Excedrin Migraine (I'll use these instead of Midol - for the caffeine/pain relief) for $9.49.

This is how my order looked this week

(4) Tide 100oz - $4.99 each (for my parents so $20 cash back to me)
(1) Colgate - $2.99 ($2.99 back in ECBs)
(1) Viactiv - $5.99 with $5.99 back in ECBs (I'm doing low carb and these have carbs in them so I didn't want to get to many plus the exp. date was July on all of them - I may go back for a few more)
(1) Excedrin PM 100 ct - $10.79
(1) Excedrin Migraine 100 ct - $9.49 ($20 back in ECBs)
(1) Trident gum - $.99 not on sale and no coupon :faint:

Total = $50.21
ECBs used = $32.00
balance = $18.21 paid with $30 CVS gift card I got for transferring over Rx ($20 co-pay so I was already ahead there by $10) now has remaining balance of $11.79 :teeth:

My OOP cost = $0!!!! and now I have $20 coming back to me from my parents :cool1:

Just wanted to say thanks for starting this thread because I kept seeing long CVS posts on other threads and we do not have any CVS stores in my area and I got tired of having to skip through them!

Thanks!;)

I dont have receipt with me so I dont know exactly how much but I spent less than $3 for all..

Plus I will get $33.97 in ECB's back.. I will check back on Thursday and once ECB's are showing I will go back.. I already have another list ready..

I am new to CVS'ing, and had someone on the board explain to me what my ECB and points total were all about. Anyway, I was lucky enough to find the post about the unadvertised Irish Spring deal(buy 3 3-pack Irish Spring soap for $.99 each, get back $4 ECB)last week! My question now is how do you find the unadvetised deals? My store rarely even has the advertised deals posted, so finding the unadvertised ECB deals there is impossible. Thanks for putting everything in one spot!!!

maggiew: I've looked thru the CVS ad in the paper and cannot find the $3 off $15. Would you please tell me where you found it?...TIA

Our paper had a 1/2 sheet on the outside that had a $25.00 off coupon for a transferred prescription as well as a $5.00 off coupon for a $15.00 purchase.
