Welcome to my Pre-Trip Report!

After months of research I have come to the conclusion that there is no vacation that can compare to a trip to Walt Disney World! After missing our fall trip last year, I couldn't let another year go by without seeing the Boo Parade, the Food and Wine Festival, or the spectacular HalloWishes Fireworks! So, when my continuing education class fell through (somewhat last minute) we jumped at the opportunity to ditch sunny southern Florida and head to sunny central Florida and the House of Mouse!

This trip will include myself, my DH, and DS (9)*

We are all very excited about this trip, but you see, we hold a dark secret. We...are...Creatures - Creatures of Habit! We may look very normal and unassuming, but trust me, if given the choice between trying something new or heading for the familiar, we tend to gravitate towards the familiar.

This will be our 5th trip to WDW as a family, and our 6th stay on Disney property. We are staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort, which is where we stayed on our first trip. We absolutely adore the CBR! Despite the long walk, we loved everything about the resort from the room to the food court to the pool!

But shouldn't we try something new? Port Orleans, perhaps? Maybe all of the feelings we have for CBR was from some sort of Honeymoon Phase, where everything is wonderful and perfect because it is the first time! Maybe we would fall in love with a different resort, too! We fell in love with the Beach Club on subsequent trips why not give another resort a shot? This is still a subject of debate in our household, so only time will tell.

We will be on the DDP, and this will be our first trip EVER without Park Hoppers. The thought makes me nervous, and I would probably require counseling, except that I realize I can add park hoppers if needed!

Each day will be exactly the same. We will go to rope drop. We will eat a TS lunch on every park day except the day of AK, when we will have breakfast at Tusker House. (Use Robot Voice Here) This is the way we will do it, this is the way we always do it. But maybe, just maybe, we can break out of our rut and try a few new restaurants, maybe even a few new rides!

Don't get me wrong: there are traditions I love, such as character breakfasts, making our annual T-shirt at DTD, the picture in the teacups... but sometimes, I think we need to step outside of our comfort zone! So join us, as we Creatures of Habit try to break free of the mundane (as if WDW could ever be called that)!

Our Pre-Princess Touring Plan:
10/31: Late arrival at the CBR
11/1: Epcot with lots of Food and Wine, and because I adore DH, Tutto italia
11/2: DHS with a 1st time - Sci Fi ADR, and a Not So Scary evening
11/3: AK with breakfast at Tusker House - Evening: The Annual family golf tournament!
11/4: Magic Kingdom, with the new Fantasyland Soft Opening???
11/5: Free to roam another park in the morning, leaving at 3:45pm

The Creatures of Habit are now hunkered in a corner, cowering in fear. After narrowly escaping a change in resorts from their beloved Caribbean Beach to Port Orleans, they were ready for smooth sailing before heading out to WDW.

But little did they know, all of this would change...because the Not So Scariest Creature of all was lurking, waiting...

Why, yes, Princess, you can go to Disney World with us!

And so the Creatures of Habit now have no idea what they are in for.

Okay, enough of speaking in 3rd person. Yes, my DH told my 6 year old niece that we were going. And when she said, "Someday, I would go to Disney World, and I would see Mickey Mouse, and I would see a castle..." my DH looked at me with eyes that said, "Squeeeee!" and I looked at him with eyes that said, "Squeeeee!" and DS looked, like, :crazy2:

Actually, he is stoked to have his cousin going, pending the okay from her mom. Come on mom, be cool! Let her go!

I have a feeling this trip is about to be turned on its ear - and I wouldn't have it any other way! :cool1:

So it is now official - the Princess is coming with us to WDW! :cheer2: We added her to the room, tickets and ADRs! This means I get to do all of the "girly" things I have always wanted to do, like meet princesses! princess:princess:princess:

Although when I asked her what she wanted to do, she said, "See the Castle." So there you go. :confused3 I guess we can drive by on the monorail, then the boys can go to the water parks!

I have made our ADRs (subject to change without notice) and am pleased to announce there are a few NEW places we are trying!

Thursday: Tutto Italia (NEW)
Friday: Sci Fi (NEW)
Saturday: Tusker House and Cape May Cafe (both traditions!)
Sunday: Liberty Tree (again, tradition!)

Monday, we are going to play it by ear and head to a park before flying out around 4pm. But now that I hear BoG is opening for lunch, we may have to go back to the MK!

We still have a lot to iron out, especially Sunday! I think my niece should see Wishes, but DH thinks we should get a PH and see Fantasmic. Who will win?

Is it just me or is MSEP just...blah. I thought Spectro was coming back? I would love to see it again!

Aside from finalizing ADRs, I have been working on the kids' IDs for lanyards and personalizing the M&M tubes for pressed pennies. This week, I have to finish our MNSSHP shirts! But the best news of all is ...we are 10 days out, which means I can use the 10 day forecast to plan!!! lol! Weather in the 70's...I'm going to assume they don't know what they are doing this far in advance and return to making a packing list!

We broke the 7 day mark, which means the best part of all!

Packing? Nooooo
Shopping for cute toys for the kiddies? Nope
Making cute t-shirts? No way (although I'm done)

If's the 7 Day Forecast! That's right. A slightly more accurate forecast than the 10 Day Forecast!

So the weather looks to be mid 70s. Every year we have gone in the fall, we were looking at low 90s high 80s. Mid 80's at its worst! I hope I know what to pack...

Assuming, of course, that we GET TO GO!

That's right! DH is sick with the ick. It started as a head cold and moved south quickly. Hopefully, the super shot and meds the doctor gave him today will help! If not, I will let him tell the princess that we are postponing the trip :(

Here's hoping he feels better - not just for Disney, but because he's a bear when he's sick. And not the cute, silly ol' bear, but the mean grumpy grizzly. :) Yep, that kind of bear. But I love him all the same!
