The North Face brand - Denali or Khumbu style jacket for college kid?

I also posted this on the Community Board but thought I'd check with the college kids. I'm amazed at the cost of these jackets and my daughter wants one for her birthday. She's in her first year of college in Iowa. The Denali is double the cost of the Khumbu fleece - $170 vs. $80. Is it worth the extra money?

My main concern is if she loses it. She's pretty responsible but also way too trusting with her stuff. Any thoughts out there on these jackets? Thanks for any help.

Both are nice. A lot more people wear the Denali but they pretty much look the same.

Is she small enough to fit into child's sizes? I'm 5'3'' about 120...and I bought a child's Denali Size Large for $60 at EMS. Way better than getting adult sizes.

I'm sure she would be happy with either.
