The No-Way-I'm-Going-Solo-This-Time Solo Trip, a Sept PTR *Home & TR Link 9/15 x2*

Nice that you are taking it slow on your first day. Mom and I loved CBR when we were there in November so I bet you'll like it too. It was pretty chilly so we never got in one of the pools but the main pool looked very nice.

Miniature golf sounds like a lot of fun. That's another thing I've never done at Disney.

I made the mistake of not taking it slow in December and wound up sicker than I started. Don't want to do that again this trip! I'm thinking that unless the weather goes crazy it should be warm enough for swimming in September. You never know though!

I'm looking forward to it!

I wish we had an option like Southwest over here for flights. Our "economy" option has big layovers and is not even that much cheaper than the direct flights, so we usually don't bother.

I think it's a great idea to take it slow the first day. That's what we usually like to do. I also love your idea of trying new things and am looking forward to seeing what those new things are. For the past 2 trips we've been saying we're going to try the mini-golf, but it hasn't happened yet.

That's too bad that you don't have a decent economy option. I know a lot of people like first class or don't mind paying more, but I'm a no-frills girl so economy works great for me. More money to spend at WDW instead of a flight! ;)

I'm surprised by what some of the new things are, as I didn't realize how many things I've never done in some of the parks. I'll also be including what I did for the first time each day on my TR. Hopefully I will do the mini-golf and you can get the review of it in my TR. Then whenever you go back you can try it too. :thumbsup2

I was going to do Day 2 plans today, but I'm house sitting and this computer is so slow that it keeps freezing every time I even go on Photobucket's website. I don't even make it far enough for Photobucket to cause the trouble! :lmao: So, I'll just do a quick general update in that I ordered Photopass Plus for this trip. I LOVED having it last trip and the great pictures I got with it. Looking forward to using it even more this trip. :thumbsup2

I hope everyone is having and continues to have a great weekend. I'll be back home tomorrow evening but may not get Day 2's plans up until Monday. Definitely by then though!

DAY 2, MONDAY SEPTEMBER 9TH

My first park day! :cool1: I will be getting up early and after my shower and eating a granola bar I will head out. I haven't decided yet if I will head to OPR to fill up my mug or not, probably depends on timing and which village I'm in to know if it is worth it. I'll head to the bus stop closest to where I am and hope it doesn't take long before I'm headed here:

I plan on being there early enough to catch the welcome show before the park opens and I head in. I will probably head here first:

As, well, I always do! I usually grab a FP for Space Mountain then head in the standby line. I'll do all the attractions there (minus Stitch, as I hate that one!) before heading into Fantasyland. I'll get a FP for Peter Pan before taking care of the rides there too.

New Fantasyland will probably be next, doing the different attractions in both Storybook Circus and New Fantasyland. I will skip Belle since I was not impressed at all with it in December. Once I start to feel ready for lunch I will be heading here to eat:

And hoping the line isn't too long to get in! If I manage to get a dinner ADR I will probably skip lunch there and pick somewhere else, but I haven't had luck yet so we will see.

I'll continue my counter-clockwise rotation and hit up these attractions next, using FP as needed:

While in Liberty Square and Frontierland I will also hit 3 of the 4 attractions I have never done before. It is possible that I did that one my first trip, but I don't have any memory of them so it will be like the first time no matter what. Which attractions you ask? These ones (pictures borrowed from the internet!).

The Hall of Presidents, Country Bear Jamboree and Tom Sawyer Island! Anyone surprised I've never done any of those? Once I do all of those it will be onto Adventureland.

Unfortunately Jungle Cruise is closed for refurb during my trip, so I will have to skip that. But I will be able to do the last attraction I don't remember ever doing. Picture again borrowed from WDW's site.

I've never felt the need to ride this since I like Dumbo, but I really want to at least have tried it once.

Sometime around then, maybe before, will be my 7:45pm ADR at Crystal Palace, unless I manage to snag a BOG one. I look forward to eating with Pooh and the gang, with this being my first time at CP.

Once dinner is done I will head to the HUB for the castle show and Wishes. The park is open until midnight, so after the castle spectacular I will head off to do repeats of any rides I want. The likely candidates are BTMR, as I've never done it at night, Buzz, Splash, PoTC and Monsters Inc Laugh Floor. More if time allows but we will see.

Once the park closes I will head back to CBR and quickly download my pictures then head to bed to be ready for my next long day!

NEW ATTRACTIONS AND EXPERIENCES THIS DAY:
Hall of Presidents
Tom Sawyer Island
Country Bear Jamboree
Magic Carpets of Aladdin
Crystal Palace
BTMR at night

Oh, and I had 2 pieces of mail from Disney arrive over the weekend. Neither were Mickey Mail, but still exciting! The first was my Photopass Plus packet. The other, well, I'll leave that until later since I haven't talked about it yet! :thumbsup2:goodvibes

Happy Monday to all!

The Hall of Presidents, Country Bear Jamboree and Tom Sawyer Island! Anyone surprised I've never done any of those? Once I do all of those it will be onto Adventureland.
:eek::faint: Shocked! :lmao:

Although if I'm honest, I've never done Tom Sawyer Island either. :rolleyes1

Ok. This isn't even up for debate. If you've never done BTMR after dark, make it your mission to do it! It is definitely worth it. Almost an entirely different experience. :thumbsup2

I've never tried Hall of Presidents and don't really have any interest since I'm not American.
I may have done Country Bear Jamboree when I was a kid, but like you for HOP, I have no memories from it and I'd like to try it once as an adult.
Tom Sawyer Island we've done both with Otaku, and alone on our honeymoon. I like it, it's fun to explore, mostly all in the shade so I nice break from the heat, and also a nice break from the crowds. Make sure to explore all the tunnels/caves you see, and to try the barrel bridge. Also in the fort if you go up you can pretend to shoot guns at BTM. Or at the very least, get a nice view of it if you prefer not to pretend-shoot trains with people on it. :lmao:
I found the carpet ride cute. Plus, it rarely has a line. I wouldn't wait for it, but when it's a walk-on, why not? I don't know if ours was broken, but it didn't seem to tilt (I think that's what the lever in the backseat does, not sure). Trying to avoid (or aim for, depending on how hot it is) the camel's spit is an added challenge/fun.

I keep meaning to do BTMR in the dark, but I forget every time until I'm gone for the day! I will be making sure I do it this time though.

I can see why HoP has no interest for you! ;)

The other 3 are all things I've planned on doing each time, but wind up skipping for one reason or another. But this time I'm going to make sure to get them done so I stop wishing I had once the trip is over. :thumbsup2

Are you k-I-d-d-I-n-g me? You've never done Country Bears before? It's not a super duper gotta see but it's definitely a classic. One tip about Tom Sawyer Island.....keep going left no matter where the other paths take you and you'll find the fort. It took us lots of trips before we found the fort. Take the other paths on your way out of the fort.

When you go to Crystal Palace, be sure and give the fire roasted corn spoonbread a try. It's so good! John had three servings of it last trip.:p

I knew you would comment about the Country Bears, and Tom Sawyer Island! :rotfl: Thanks for the tip about TSI. Just hope I don't get lost out there.

I will definitely try the spoonbread, thanks again for another tip. It certainly sounds good! :goodvibes

Well, of course, I'm gonna rib you a little bit about Country Bears. :rotfl: I got the tip about the fort from one of my Dis friends. We would go to the island but never find the fort. She said "just keep going left" and we did and we found it! If you climb up into the fort, you can get some really neat pictures of Big Thunder Mountain.

The spoonbread is delicious! Love it!

It's ok, I can take the ribbing! I'm sure the view of BTMR from Tom Sawyer Island is fantastic, as I got great ones from Liberty Boat.

Can't wait to try it!

I've never done HoP either.... Maybe way back when and I don't remember....... We are going to be in Epcot on Monday and dinner at Artist Point.

I love getting Disney mail :D I don't get anything for ME or packages and such because of DVC however anything and everything that comes I get excited :).

It's possible I did HoP my first visit, but the only thing I remember from that trip is the drive there, the offsite hotel we stayed at and eating at Liberty Tree Tavern. Too bad we will be at different parks that day!

No Mickey Mail?! :scared1: :lmao: I love getting Mickey Mail with my package info. It's how I feel the trip is truly close.
